I think they might be using Ambessa as a vehicle that will allow them to transition to telling stories about different regions. She's from Noxus controlled Shurima, so there is that connection, but she is also heavily involved with Piltover and through them Zaun. She might be how Singed gets in contact with Noxus to give them the chemical weapons that devastate Ionia, which is the event that kickstarts a lot of the stories of characters from that region.
In the old lore at least, yes, Noxus uses chemical weapons in Ionia, under Swain's rule. That led to the devastation witnessed by Riven, leading her to defect and also witness Yasuo's mentor's death. Noxus is the instigator for a lot of things, the tamer mildler bad guy brother of the Shadow Isles in the verse.
I hope this book has the voice actors narrating it again. One of the coolest parts of the ruination was that the audio book had all the present champion’s VA’s reading their lines

The Piltover/Zaun arc of the League animated universe is ending with Arcane season 2, the plot is most likely moving onto Noxus next since that is the region with the most development in the animated series other than P&Z, her and Mel(if she survived the S1 finale) are most likely going to be our connection points into Noxus politics. I just hope they do Swain and LeBlanc justice, they are such interesting characters in lore and i hope the Arcane(or whatever the noxus show is called) retcons dont do too much harm to what people like about them.
I think it might also have to do with Worlds. This is the time of the year where League is getting more eyes on it than ever. It makes a lot of sense to put in the effort for your next upcoming champion, she’s going to be a lot of people’s first impression of how Riot treats their characters. I do hope that instead of people getting angry that she’s getting all the attention, they’ll express to Riot that we’d love to see more like this for all the future champions, and many of the past ones too.

Forced diversity is something like the shows Euphoria or Sex Education. Regular, normal inclusive diversity requires good writing, which is why Arcane's Mel didn't seem out of place at all. Like real diversity, Arcane's characters felt like real people--like they truly belonged there in that story. TLDR; Anyone who is mad about Ambessa getting any attention is, without a doubt, grappling with racist ideologies. She's an incredible character regardless of what color her skin is. the part of "i'm still here" that resonated most with me wasn't necessarily kindred, but rather the silhouette of kindred becoming ashe to save tryndamere from himself. i still cry when i think about that moment. one day i hope to have my own ashe. so yeah, it was elevated by kindred, which is funny. i don't think of kindred when i reminisce, but she was the driving force behind what i think about... lurking in the shadows, so to speak.
I really wanna see Necrit's Ruination movie ^^ The Ambessa book will be a lot more successful since a LOT of non-players love Arcane and are in for the story and lore (are not afraid to read!)- therefore, there will be a big success in a story following Arcane or tightening loose strings of a beloved character. Don't forget how bad the Arcane addiction actually is and that you consume EVERYTHING around it ;D I'm also guessing that this book might give a swift bridge to the next show/story they are doing? Would be a greate gateway imo.

Yone had the best release of any champ release ive personally experienced in the past 10 years, you can argue about some reworks taking the spotlight, but spirit blossom was an amazing event and that added so much onto both yone and yasuo.
As much as I agree, unfortunately if every single champ had that much love put into them on release we'd be getting champions annually. I'd prefer to get more champs in a year with one of them having a neat lore tie/event/storyline that includes some of the champs in need of love from the devs as well as some of the new ones. Spirit blossom was definitely peak though :P

He is an awesome character in his game design and story but the release itself wasnt anything special. we got like 2 or 3 teasers and boom he's in. the reason i said yone was because they put so much effort into it. An entire event based on his release and story and 2 Anime style cinematics explaining both his lore and yasuo's. They really made an effort with him compared to any other champ.

Really what I just don't like about her is that they are pretending that Noxus is all about her. When they pretend like she would be able to rule Noxus, as a Swain Lore lover, it kinda makes me worried that just because she was in Arcane other characters will be neglected because they don't have the same level of marketing behind them. Just hopeing that doesn't happen.
My hope is that the Swain mini-rework is an indication by Riot that they are trying and help drum up attention for Swain and make him more popular so later down the line they can try and push more story about him on a more receptive audience.

About the novel: I don't know the timeline it happens but the description mentions Mel (in present tense). Meaning that if it happens after Arcane then she survived. But only IF it's happening after Arcane.
Ambessa, a new champ with certified Stage 4 design, gets a show (kinda tbh), a book and a freaking legendary. Meanwhile Fiddlesticks, fan favourite and the MOST awaited champ for LoR because his Lore is simply amazing and already established, doesnt even get voicelines :DDDDDDD I had no Beef against the Champ (except perma banning her once she hits live) but I now pray on her downfall in popularity.
Fiddles is a special case because his release in LEAGUE was amazing, he got the best treatment for all his skins at no addicional cost and everything, but legends of runeterra is broke rn so they had to release him shitty

Lore/Character-wise Ambessa feels like just another Darius. A cool, hulking brute completely dedicated to their nation, and is painfully one-dimensional. Riot could just release a legendary skin for Darius that is Ambessa.

I have to hard disagree because Ambessa's personality and drive is almost insanely different than Darius. Darius is honor, strength. Ambessa is Survival, (Guile.) She is going to do what's needed, no matter the cost, to achieve prosperity. Darius we've already seen will not break his honors and oaths. I think being able to recognize that is REALLY important. They are very different people and cultural references.
She was the least interesting part of the show and only existed to humanize the manipulative politician. Otherwise you could've wrote her out and replaced her with Darius and it would've changed nothing.

I would also say that Ambessa connects to so many places that continuing the story for league makes it easier. Even though Belvet was supposed to do that she wasn't as well received as ambessa. You have Piltover/zaun to shurima to noxus. Expanding and pushing those area's stories helps push the other areas as there are a lot of character cross overs that converge in one of these places. so it works. Her being a warmonger also helps as it will make sense that she leads battles in other area's.
2:26 this is crazy to me considering how Smolder became one of the most popular champions in the game. Despite having a lot of gameplay balance issues, the actual playerbase (not the vocal minority online) LOVES Smolder and plays him way more than any of the other releases which makes me think why would Riot need to make anything more for their new champions and why don’t they give more skins to their popular champions too?

Smolder is still pretty new, of course he's not getting a new skin at the moment (especially when Riot is now making an effort to give less popular champions some much needed TLC). i feel like Ambessa now is being a big set up for those who are in League or league's lore because of Arcane, since Noxus is possibly the next stop for the Arcane series to grow into its logical because how much ties we got to Noxus just from Arcane S1 alone and then developing from Noxus to any other region would way easier since Noxus is everywhere
Fairly speaking, any champions in the big scene for Arcane will eventually survive and live on to tell the tale in canon lore. That's the whole point of Arcane - To tell the backstory and history of champions before they were what they are in-game now.
Ambessa seems the perfect way for Arcane to segue into a Demacia/Noxus story honestly. If they focus more on her and her rise to power, that means there's a high degree likelihood they focus on Demacia as well.

But i really think Fortiche's work made them realize how important it was to have good writers writing good lore and not just patching things randomly when they come up.

My biggest hope is for her to be a bridge to LeBlank big revel in season 2 then go in Noxus characters and lore in season 3. Also, I don't think Riot is that stupid to not understand what sells and what not (we do have Lux skills for a reason) so I think LeBlank will be the huge surprise to come (visually horny, badass, misunderstood/mysterious villain) if not, there must be someone (maybe Mel but I don't think so?) who can take the roll of Jinx/Vi/Caitlyn roles (and wonder why sexy young women? The Ambessa book will be a lot more successful since a LOT of non-players love Arcane and are in for the story and lore (are not afraid to read!)- therefore, there will be a big success in a story following Arcane or tightening loose strings of a beloved character. Don't forget how bad the Arcane addiction actually is and that you consume EVERYTHING around it ;D

Yone had the best release of any champ release ive personally experienced in the past 10 years, you can argue about some reworks taking the spotlight, but spirit blossom was an amazing event and that added so much onto both yone and yasuo.

As much as I agree, unfortunately if every single champ had that much love put into them on release we'd be getting champions annually. I'd prefer to get more champs in a year with one of them having a neat lore tie/event/storyline that includes some of the champs in need of love from the devs as well as some of the new ones. Spirit blossom was definitely peak though :P

He is an awesome character in his game design and story but the release itself wasnt anything special. we got like 2 or 3 teasers and boom he's in. the reason i said yone was because they put so much effort into it. An entire event based on his release and story and 2 Anime style cinematics explaining both his lore and yasuo's. They really made an effort with him compared to any other champ.

Really what I just don't like about her is that they are pretending that Noxus is all about her. When they pretend like she would be able to rule Noxus, as a Swain Lore lover, it kinda makes me worried that just because she was in Arcane other characters will be neglected because they don't have the same level of marketing behind them. Just hopeing that doesn't happen.

I think it was in Sky's notes that she was taking to Victor to help him. If you look at the colour of the notebook, it matches the colour of they rune...

I don't know the timeline it happens but the description mentions Mel (in present tense). Meaning that if it happens after Arcane then she survived. But only IF it's happening after Arcane.

Lore/Character-wise Ambessa feels like just another Darius. A cool, hulking brute completely dedicated to their nation, and is painfully one-dimensional. Riot could just release a legendary skin for Darius that is Ambessa.

Idk man, just feels like a kinda boring and flat character getting artificially hyped like she's supposed to be the next big thing. If they treated her like they did Silco (Just show off they're there in promo stuff and add them to tft or something) then I doubt anyone would be super excited about her. Hell, people were more hyped for her daughter to be added to the game rather than her. I don't enjoy hating on something they clearly want us to love, but of all the characters they could've chosen it was one of the most mid ones in Arcane.
I have to hard disagree because Ambessa's personality and drive is almost insanely different than Darius.
Darius is honor, strength.
Ambessa is Survival, (Guile.) She is going to do what's needed, no matter the cost, to achieve prosperity. Darius we've already seen will not break his honors and oaths.
I think being able to recognize that is REALLY important. They are very different people and cultural references.
She was the least interesting part of the show and only existed to humanize the manipulative politician. Otherwise you could've wrote her out and replaced her with Darius and it would've changed nothing.

I would also say that Ambessa connects to so many places that continuing the story for league makes it easier. Even though Belvet was supposed to do that she wasn't as well received as ambessa. You have Piltover/zaun to shurima to noxus. Expanding and pushing those area's stories helps push the other areas as there are a lot of character cross overs that converge in one of these places. so it works. Her being a warmonger also helps as it will make sense that she leads battles in other area's.

2:26 this is crazy to me considering how Smolder became one of the most popular champions in the game. Despite having a lot of gameplay balance issues, the actual playerbase (not the vocal minority online) LOVES Smolder and plays him way more than any of the other releases which makes me think why would Riot need to make anything more for their new champions and why don’t they give more skins to their popular champions too?
They give plenty of new skins to their popular champions? Lux, Ezreal, Yasuo? Smolder is still pretty new, of course he's not getting a new skin at the moment (especially when Riot is now making an effort to give less popular champions some much needed TLC).

Fairly speaking, any champions in the big scene for Arcane will eventually survive and live on to tell the tale in canon lore. That's the whole point of Arcane - To tell the backstory and history of champions before they were what they are in-game now.

But i really think Fortiche's work made them realize how important it was to have good writers writing good lore and not just patching things randomly when they come up.

Because I love the lore and the league characters i bought the books before (and i never regretted it), but i just... am so personally uninterested in ambessa as a character beyond what we already got in arcane. She already got so much in the show, give this book to someone else that deserves it pls. i can only hope swain and leblanc are in it, considering her whole "throne of noxus" part.

I like Ambessa, but not to the point of making her the main face of LoL for the next few years and I think Riot knows that to. My biggest hope is for her to be a bridge to LeBlank big revel in season 2 then go in Noxus characters and lore in season 3.
Also, I don't think Riot is that stupid to not understand what sells and what not (we do have Lux skills for a reason) so I think LeBlank will be the huge surprise to come (visually horny, badass, misunderstood/mysterious villain) if not, there must be someone (maybe Mel but I don't think so?) who can take the roll of Jinx/Vi/Caitlyn roles (and wonder why sexy young women? Because sex sells!).
NGL, getting the actual voice actors to read their characters for the audio book would be amazing. Like getting voice lines but in steroids.
