I can't wait to get a polyend tracker. It's nice to hear some tech coming out of one instead of just DnB. It's built for all genres and you displayed it here.
Thank you kindly! Yes this was all made within tracker. Not even using very complex techniques. I used granular on a sample that came with it and an LFO on the starting point. Doubled on 2 tracks panned left and right with LFO different speeds . Giving the nice stereo image. The dub chord sample came from my own Digitone made sample pack 'from dusk till dawn' (can find it on my website). And then further processed and modulated within tracker. The performance mode in tracker is also very interesting. Really dig it :). I mastered the resulted stereo recording in a DAW. Thanks for your comment!
deeeeeeeeeeep... I've been looking for the perfect dub techno track for years... (since the seminal Basic Channel in the 90's) it's not classic bust masterpiece, bro !
Hi Dave, great track and super inspiring as usual! Couple of questions, can the Tracker SD card be used as SD card for your Zoom recorder? It would be great a great timesaver if samples can be edited right away in the tracker without having to open the laptop. And what are the pro’s and con’s compared to the DT? Thanks!
Thanks! Not sure if that's possible to be honest. I would be a bit scared that the zoom recorder would mess something up. But worth a shot when you start out I guess :) Comparing this to a DT is tough they are so very different. That will become a big list of things.
Dave do you think a person with no music theory can handle this machine? I work with sound design. I can learn music. But I wish I could have a machine that brings out the creativity in me. I had a MC101 for a while and made some dope beats. Enlighten me please good sir. I live I'm Brasil so I can't test one. But I have a gut feeling that maybe this is my machine.
Hi Cauê, yeah you could use it without knowing music theory. You can do creative stuff with sample editing using it as a granular synth and more. And the sequencing is fun as well. It's a very particular workflow though and definitely not for everyone. So it's tough to say if it will really fit your needs. Did you have a look at the Polyend Play? Reading your post I actually think that the Play might suit you better :) check it out
@@Davemech the play looks awesome. But 2 things did not excited me. Lack of export options and the FM radio kkkkkk (I love the chopping and random chances of sampling a radio). I feel that since I don't have vices in other devices maybe I the tracker can fit nice with me. Regardless, thanks a lot and keep rocking!!
That's so good! I have a question for you, how do you prepare your samples before you start playing with the Tracker? Or do you make them directly in the Tracker?
Combination of my own samples made with digitone and a few from the factory sounds that came with tracker. Not a lot of prep in this case before importing. I use filters a lot to make room for each element :)
Indeed. Renoise is of course a lot more powerful. But it's great to have a standalone instrument with hands on controls. It's quick and feels like an instrument more than clicking with your mouse. And as the saying goes: limitations breed creativity. And it's true
Hi ALs Fleur labs, the sub chord I use in this track is actually from a sample pack I sell myself. Further processed in tracker. The kick is also from that pack. You can find it in my webshop davemech.live/shop it’s called From dusk till dawn (samples). It contains quite a few dub chords and a lot of percussion etc. Let me know if that’s what you’re looking for ! Cheers
@@Davemech this is exactly what i wanted From dusk till dawn (samples). thank you very much i really like the sounds of this dub techno style, i will buy it 😉
Well kind of. Trackers have existed for a very long time. And elektron instruments share a lot of the tracker workflow. Just with a different gui. But it's nice to have an actual tracker in hardware form
@@Davemech I read a report about the tracker longer time ago! What someone prefere, how are the expectations! Will look if the performance of the Polyend Tracker is similar to the other Grooveboxes! Is it good and funny to perform? Must watch some videos about tracker! 💪
This is absolutely awesome. Great work!
Wow, this is great, really inspiring use of performance mode
This is LOVELY. Excellent work
Yeah, proper!
Amazing performance. Very inspiring!
Thank you!
this is really good. Nice job.
Thank you 🙏
Nice track! Exactly what kind of stuff I like

Nice! Enjoy :)
Of course it's build for all genres... It's a tracker after all
@@Herearetheundead lol its like saying a drum is built for more genres than house music
techno on the PT is easier than i ever thought. i ended up getting two.
I️ feel like trackers work especially well for techno. Very mathematical and precise.
so smooth and hypnotic 😍
Thanks 🙏:)
Absolutely amazing!
Great Track, Dave! 😁👊
Thank you bud! ❤️
tracker sounds smooth in your hands , not so 8 bit as most , nice one
Thanks :)
Great dub chords
Cheers! The dub chord is from a sample pack that I sell. Further processed and modulated within tracker
Awesome, thanks
Very interesting!!!! Similar to Renoise but hardware… Cooooool 🤓😎🤓
🔥🔥🔥
This is incredible! Was this all done on this ONE device? If so, the company ought to pay you, since this video will make me buy one.

@@Davemech Thanks for explaining a bit more. Crazy what this machine can do.
Great work as always! Learning so much right now from your DT Masterclass videos. Your workflows are brilliant!
That's great to hear! Thanks for the support :)
great bro
Very nice.
This jam is really something, how did you made all those complex patterns with just pattern1?? using performance mode of yours are really sick!!
Late response but thank you :) but much to explain but it’s basically use of samples and modulations per step to create those complex chord stabs etc.

Damn... Smoking hot. I need this.
dope.
