A very clear and simple explanation. Thank you very much! :) Personaly, I would go for another layer of bricks as a higher chimney produces more updraft.
I get all kinds of suggestions. Some taller some smaller. It works great for what I use it for. Its good that people experiment to make one that fits their needs . Thanks for watching.

I too can't say enough good things about Rocket stoves. Sad many people aren't aware of the efficient power in this simple design. God gave us everything we need.
I wish i knew about these when we were without power for a week after a hurricane. We could have had more to eat instead of half fluffernutter sandwiches twice a day, and I could have had hot coffee.
those bricks are probably fine but I'd probably like to use fire place bricks. Also cheap dollar store steel wool ( has powdered aluminum ) will start it super fast. let it burn off before cooking though because it might be toxic. thanks for the video
We are in NC, with stands of pine trees. They are messy, but pine straw (old needles) are great fire starters? But they burn HOT so don't use too many.
Can I build one of those inside my fireplace let’s say a grid down scenario, and I need to stay inside while my fireplace have enough draft and Paul to operate that stove
Rain cover could be simply four posts and a roof small enough to place in top of the primary verticle intake perhaps and inch higher than the cook plate
I had a comment to make it taller , some shorter, it works well for what I use it for. Its great that people experiment with it to make it fit their needs. Thsnk you for watching.
I dont see why not. It might take longer . If I were cooking with charcoal I would build a smaller one putting the pot closer to the heat. Thanks for the question.
Kathleen Copeland , he’s from PA. In our state that’s used by the fire dept. and ems... when I moved to PA in 92 o wasn’t aware that our community had one of those sirens. It went of at 1am. Talk about a wake up call...lol.
Nice vid, but this is not a rocket stove. It's just a regular old fire pit. A rocket stove is designed in an L or J shape and creates a vortex whereby burning the wood fuel smokeless and efficiently with no soot. All you are doing is burning wood right under your cooking area. That's just a fire pit with a feeding area which also doubles as an air intake.
#1 No that is not a J or L setup, it's straight up and down, nothing else. #2 If 90 out of 100 youtubers start calling a kangaroo a dog, does that make a kangaroo a dog?
I don't see how this is not a rocket stove. Air and fuel come from side channels, air below fuel (though he does put some sticks in the air path, which was unnecessary). It may not be a very efficient rocket stove (a higher stack would help), but if this isn't a rocket stove, none of the brick or concrete rocket stoves on youtube are rocket stoves.
@@nunyabiznis817 if the kangaroo identifies as a dog then yes its a dog. i wont call this a rocket stove but will give it a go as its so basic n some fire to mess around with.
nicely done brother good show I like it
Hope you try it and thank you for watching.
Sweet rocket stove!!!

How do u slow down the flame it to high thsnks 👍🤗🇬🇧
Thanks Sir

Nice but it should be smaller size for the fire to be much better

Tomorrow I will make it OK
How far from York are you.
Complete outdoor been question: can you use charcoal I stead of twigs? Will it work the same?
I dont see why not. It might take longer . If I were cooking with charcoal I would build a smaller one putting the pot closer to the heat. Thanks for the question.
How do you put it out? Just pour water down? I'm sure that's so sorry if really dumb question.
You have a great voice lol
That's very nice. Thank you.
8:30 AIR RAID SIREN?
Nice rocket stove, best of all it's not built on the ground, I get so tired of bending over to put a few sticks in.
It makes it so much nicer for feeding the fire and cooking on. Thanks for the comment.
Mjj is alive !💂
I recently made this brick one but decided I wanted a bigger one so moved up to cinder blocks, Now the Flame is too High lol. Thanks 👍
I like your voide next time make 10 inch big
6 olb
I Like your vode
Exactly what kind of brick is this?
They are just standard bricks. I guess because it get good air the bricks do not over heat.
Tornado siren going off in background...

Would you be able to cook some hamburgers in a cast iron skillet on that?
gig777 yes you could cook most anything that stove top is used for.
I saw this youtube use the BIG CRISCO jars with one long candle. IT WILL BURN 72 DAYS!!!
How many bricks?
14 full bricks and 1 brick cut in half.
It is all about Steroids great video
12 O’clock siren....
Fire house. I always laugh. As soon as I get the fire going to siren goes off.
At minute 8:10 a tornado alert siren is heard
Its our fire station siren.
@@JUSTOUTDOORLIFE Ok I thought it was a tornado siren

This is a j or L setup. Sorry if it's not what you thought it was. This is what RUclips is calling it so I did too.
