I made a similar insert using 2-part polyurethane foam. I used the 2 pound per cubic foot density. It made a big difference in how much feedback I get from the car. It is comfortable enough for a daily driver in my opinion.
How much it cost?
@@dannitron1934 Maybe $40 between the foam and the consumables. Totally worth it in my opinion.
Very cool, thanks for the insight
I've always wanted to try and get my sim rig close to a real life NASCAR seating position. When the seat is in the car roughly what is the angle of the back and bottom? Seems like with most available seats for the sim if you want to angle under you legs to be right then you end up relined too far back with a fixed back seat. Also, would you say that the bottom of the seat is slightly above your heels or are you a good bit higher?
It varies for each driver and seat type.
What kind of foam is it
What is the product name of the liquid that expanded to form the custom seat foam?
Not sure exactly but I believe the company that makes the inserts, BSCI, also makes the material and mix that is used for the molds.
This looks like the kirkley stuff. Quite a few companies make it.
You can do it with normal pour-foam, but they burn easy.
The better stuff costs 6x more, but is sfi approved and flame retardant.
Where can we get this done?
@@pastorraudel1261 you can call BSCI out of Mooresville, North Carolina.
@@AnthonyAlfredo thanks so much
What foam did you use? I’m trying to make a kayak seat
It's a special chemical compound mixture that creates a SFI certified material.
