  • Input: magenta screw.
Two blue lower short bars are pivoted on the white base cylinder.
Two blue upper short bars are pivoted on the green top cylinder.
Two brown upper short pins are fixed to the jade cylinder.
Two brown lower short pins are fixed to the yellow cylinder.
The cylinders enable the scissor mechanism to move stably in the vertical direction despite the gaps in its revolution joints.

Please make an animation video about "Spiralift" system. and linear actuator "kataka".
    Thanks so much.

I can't do it because I use Autodesk Inventor, a software that doesn't support object deformation simulation.

Is it possible to mechanically simplify this? I want to create 2-3 nested cylindars that telescope from 3mm or 4mm tall to roughly 10mm tall. This would be driven by a twist of the outermost ring.

Your request “driven by a twist of the outermost ring” is difficult to realize.
I will get back to you in about ten days if I find any solution.

At near full extension, wont twisting would jam it?

      Twisting? Which part?

    • @thang010146
      @thang010146  11 месяцев назад +3

The lower part of the scissor mechanism (under the orange nut bar) receives torque from the magenta screw. So it must be strong enough to deal with the twist.
Measure to increase twist resistance: install additional prismatic joints (sliding keys) between the four cylinders (white, yellow, jade and green).

Why not connect the scissor lift on every joint to make it more stable?

      Yes, do that where possible.

Would it be better to rotate one of the inner mechanisms 90 deg from the other one? In my head, it would be more stable? 🤷‍♂️

Here, the screw-nut drive ensures symmetrical force and self-locking feature.
