I also went through a very unique journey in my education and career path that was different from what I originally planned. Watching the way to you have handled "failure" and adapted your path has kept me inspired and also grounded in my own struggles. I just wanted to say congratulations and thank you.
I'm really pleased for you. You're so inspiring to others, and show that if you persist you can follow your dreams, even if it wasn't the path you originally thought. My mum wasn't able to study as a nurse when she left school because she didn't have the means. She had us children, did an access course, which led to University, which let to her now being a nurse for 16 years with various accreditations and a more senior position. Sometimes we take a more scenic route on the path to following our dreams. I'm sure you've learned lots along the way.

Not a campus per se but a federation of colleges, permanent private halls and university buildings. Ruby’s college is Jesus which is in the very centre of Oxford (not all Oxford colleges are as central).
Vicariously living my academic dreams through you. Ive always loved the idea of studying at an impressive place, gaining all this knowledge. But sadly my brain is just not built for studying. I can keep an interest in one or 2 specific subjects, anything else just loses my interest completely and i cant bring myself to put the work in for it. So impressed by how you just get on with things!
Not sure if it’s the same for Ox but at Cambridge you could definitely poke around inside other college libraries if you made friends with someone at that college. Obviously can’t take out books, but I used to study in other college libraries with my friends from that college. If you want a book that’s only held at one library that you don’t have access to just talk to your college librarian and they’ll get it in on an inter-library loan for you! Also some of the more famous libraries may have open visiting hours - Trinity at Cambridge has public visiting in the old library.

This is very cool! This isnt any hate and I know women can often be disproportionately held to higher standards on stuff like this, but I would really recommend using a reusable coffee cup/ bottle when going to coffee shops especially so often. Getting to go containers of anything produces so much waste and plastic often ends up in our oceans and even in our soil and food systems, which end up in our own bodies because we now have so much of it. Growing up with Oxford as my closest city, it feels incredibly strange to see it from a students/tourists perspective. Especially as most people i know grew up with it or have been around it long enough for it just to be a normal staple of everyday life
Same haha! People always ask me which colleges they should see and I don't even know where half of them are... I know the Westgate centre, the covered market and the train station lol because that's where I go normally.

Hi Ruby! I studied in Oxford as an international student and absolutely fell in love with the city, so these videos of yours are such a lovely walk down memory lane. If I’m not mistaken, friends from other colleges could let you into their college libraries for a little peek, so that might be worth exploring! I worked at The Missing Bean while living in Oxford, and I’d say it’s a great spot to grab a coffee on the go; it’s quite small so it’s hard to grab a table haha my favorite place to study was actually the Waterstones coffee shop on the top floor and the Organic Deli Cafe in the afternoon. If you enjoy markets, I recommend the Gloucester Green market! There was a lady there that sold vegan gyoza and steamed buns, and she’d always give me extra because I brought my own containers :) I’m excited to see you explore the city, and I’m sure you’ll fall in love with it like so many before us have!
Well done! I hope you enjoy your time in Oxford. Believe me it passes quickly so give it your best - the more you put in, the more you get out, as in life. Ask questions of your Tutors and then ask them more - it is the best way to learn from them. Hope the College is friendly and you make loads of friends.

Hi Ruby! I studied in Oxford as an international student and absolutely fell in love with the city, so these videos of yours are such a lovely walk down memory lane. If I’m not mistaken, friends from other colleges could let you into their college libraries for a little peek, so that might be worth exploring! I worked at The Missing Bean while living in Oxford, and I’d say it’s a great spot to grab a coffee on the go; it’s quite small so it’s hard to grab a table haha my favorite place to study was actually the Waterstones coffee shop on the top floor and the Organic Deli Cafe in the afternoon. If you enjoy markets, I recommend the Gloucester Green market! There was a lady there that sold vegan gyoza and steamed buns, and she’d always give me extra because I brought my own containers :) I’m excited to see you explore the city, and I’m sure you’ll fall in love with it like so many before us have!
Well done! I hope you enjoy your time in Oxford. Believe me it passes quickly so give it your best - the more you put in, the more you get out, as in life. Ask questions of your Tutors and then ask them more - it is the best way to learn from them. Hope the College is friendly and you make loads of friends.
