How long and vigorous did you have to shake the little bottle of sensitizer with water for? I opened up my bottle after a few minutes of shaking, it was still rock hard?

this is an incredible all in one kit as someone who has done screen printing for a long time it seems like a great way to get started at home. you can't blame the kit for user error and u probably shouldn't gotten the level 3 kit when you're level 0
Make TWO transparency prints exactly alike and stack them to make the black dense enough to prevent the light from going through and curing the emulsion underneath.
You are so right! I didn’t really believe that the preparing it would make such a big difference, but I guess it does. Thank you, I think you are 100 percent right and I will try to do it all in a darker room the next time!
you know, if you use the emulsion remover as instructed, you can get your screen brand new again & start it over. i did mine 3 times till i got it 100% how i wanted & it worked great ! your video was also very helpful, thank you for your service !!! you’ll get it !!!
I screen print for a living...... and you should put your emulsion on in a dark room with a red light. Also you want to start at the bottom of the screen with the emulsion and hold the screen at about a 90° angle and you want to swipe up with it but be careful not to use too much emotion but you want to also get a good even coat of a emulsion on the screen. Also you shouldn’t use a sponge when you’re trying to get the design to come out in the image.... you should take maybe a hose outside or something and lean your screen up against the side of the house at about 90° or somewhere and squirt it with water and your design should filter through leaving the emotion behind but if you use a sponge your wipe some of the emotion off which could damage your design on the screen that you just shot in the dark room. Then after you blow your design out with water and your screen outside you’ll need to take it into a dark room again to let it air dry for about 45 minutes to an hour you can also put a fan on it (lean it up against a box fan if you have one) then use your screen to print your shirt the way the instructions say clamp it down to the platen or piece of cardboard or wood whatever they give you in the box. And make your design on the shirt. But I wonder how you’re going to dry the ink on the shirt that’s what I’m curious about because at the shop then I work at we have a dryer essentially like a giant pizza oven and the shirt goes through there and cures in about 3 or 4 minutes
How many images are you making for all of that work? I thank you for all of your advice-there’s so much involved! The kit description made it sound so easy! I had let my shifts air dry and then heat treated then with parchment paper and a house iron. My friend got a pretty similar kit and we’ve both kind of given up or put it aside for now because of all of the work involved. This screen printing kit made me appreciate my Cricut machine so much more!
@@KatieBethDeath You may also wanna explore doing heat press what you do is you get an image and you put it on a vinyl sheet of paper and then you put the final sheet of paper on the heat press and then you you clamp the heat press down over the material (shirt sweatshirt whatever) then wait about 20 seconds pull it up carefully peel back the vinyl paper leaving your design behind on the shirt.
@@fendermann1825🤯 I have not heard of this heat pressing before. I’ve used vinyl and paint to make a quick type of screen printing, but not a heat press like you are speaking of. I’m intrigued!
@@KatieBethDeath check it out on RUclips. We used to do a lot of jerseys for high schools and stuff like that and we would heat press the numbers on because it was faster than the screen printing the numbers on. Oh how I wish I would’ve started a RUclips channel when I had a screen printing shop before now..... I cut yards for a living. But I screen friended for about five years.
Wow cool job, maybe try to burn it for about 2-3 minutes and you won't over expose. And use a like a old gift/credit card to put the emulsion on (((: good luck and have fun!!
You really should take this video down and remake a video after you understand the process and master it. If you didnt know how to pronounce emulsion, you clearly have no experience screen printing. People may watch this video and decide not to purchase Speedball products because of your experience. A responsible influencer should understand and master a product before writing a review. This kit works perfectly when reading/following the instructions until you dont need the instructions anymore.
I’m a screen cleaner you did something wrong cause it shouldn’t be that dirty after you clean it so you did something wrong and you should take all that off

I just used this exact same kit and it works perfectly fine. I also read and followed the instructions

That’s a super good idea. 💡 Thank you! 😃
You are right about it being overexposed, but also try preparing it in a room with less light.

Exactly, pros do this in a dark room it's just like photography.
Thank you so much ! By you fucking yours up, mine came out great ! Thanks !
I agree! I was horrible at this! I really need to get better!

That brown stuff is called iodine
Which side did you print the skull on, the glossy or the matte finish?
The matte side. I assumed it wouldn’t print to the glossy side. Was I wrong?

You exposed the screen to the light too long that’s why the image didn’t blow out
I heard "photo immolation."
