As an owner of a 1984 Corvette, I can say its the most fun one will ever have with 200 hp. My car has the Z51 handling package and it rides like it on rails. If Chevy went a different direction with the Corvette in 1984, then it most likely would've died in the 80s

9:00 I knew as soon as I saw that engine bay that there's a number of issues with that car. Because it's front wheel drive, and has a V8 under that hood, there'll be a lot of torque steer. Meaning that the car will try to go in a different direction if you try to accelerate hard. It happens with almost all FWD cars with plenty of power, regardless of what's under the hood e.g Mazda Speed 3. Secondly, because it's a big engine in a front wheel drive platform that ordinarily shouldn't have a bigger engine than a 3.6/3.8 v6, they could be a nightmare to work on. But if you can overlook those issues, the LS engines are bulletproof and sound great, and tuning isn't impossible.
The torque steer is not that bad at all. You can make it 400hp and it can still be a daily driver. They arent too hard to work on either. You just have to get passed the engine being sideways 😂
Don't forget that they used the same v6 transmission that could barely handle the L67 engine. Most are in thr junkyard or for sale with a blown transmission. Total fail by GM. Had they made it rwd it would have been way better. I'll take the L67 3.8 supercharged engine over the ls engine any day.
Owned a 96 Ws6 and fair warning on those Lt1s. Be careful with the water pumps and distributor; they tend to be problematic. Those parts are close to each other, the water pump can leak onto the distributor leading to failure. Lt1s are great if you take care of them.
Putting the LT1's on here makes no sense to me. 98-02 WS6's and Z28/SS's have the LS1 which is not only more powerful, it's ridiculously reliable, and has a aftermarket 500x bigger than the LT. Like you could have just cut this whole video down to... 98-02 Camaro/Trans Am. Since they fit the budget, and outclass every car on this list by a substantial margin.

yeah brother they slipped up on this one!!(WS6owner). there's a big difference between the two. the latter is now horrible but the opti spark situation definitely needs to be taken care of before the car to reach it's full performance/reliability potential. still a fan though!
Instead of a catfish if your looking for an awesome looking car that has the same power plant it would be a Pontiac fire hawk. It is a dead car brand and is loved by enthusiasts but it’s a great looking car with a nice couple v8 options for anyone.
I wouldn’t have added that BMW, if we lookin at a “true” muscle car, I think it would have been better to look a little “older” imo the E92 M3 would have been a nice muscle car, but then again, they aren’t cheap. C4s you can find them for a decent price if you look around, and if you were to get w pre-eagle Charger or Challenger, don’t get one. It’s best to get a newer hemi that has MDS. Rest of the cars on the list weren’t bad doe. I’d take a foxbody anyday, you can find them for a decent price as well if you look around. 💯💪🏿
Honestly, that LS1 Z28 Camaro blows away everything on this list. While I agree they can be ugly, so is every car on this list. The difference is, those Camaros have options off the factory line that made them not ugly. Sport Package ground effects. Chrome wheels. Different hood styles. Making it both the best performance car on the list, and arguably the most attractive. Pontiac GXP gets 2nd place.
Not even a mention of the 4th gen TransAm? You could have mentioned it when you were talking about the Camaro as in "if you can't find a Z28 or SS Camaro, look to it's brother from Pontiac and get a Formula TransAm or a WS6." and then showed a for sale page. great video
Thanks!
The catfish camaro is 97-02 and was pacing a ls while the 93-96 was packed with a lt1. They can be built stout but let's not discuss the opti and the placement of them
yeah brother they slipped up on this one!!(WS6owner). there's a big difference between the two. the latter is now horrible but the opti spark situation definitely needs to be taken care of before the car to reach it's full performance/reliability potential. still a fan though!
I agree with you 100%
Wassup my boy squid !!!!
Hi hi
What about the 3rd gen Camaro/trans am they are pretty cheap on the market rn and the trans am has pop-up headlights
Cars from the last quarter of the 20th century just look so much better.
You forgot about the STS-V it’s supercharged 460-470hp I seen some for 10-16k and you forgot about the Pontiac G8 with the 6.0
You spelled “boat” wrong in the thumbnail
Great video though
0:00 is this a dodge charger rt '70?
All are great performers
Foxbody is my favorite car I have a 93 coupe that has a 427 LS th400 and a single 92mm turbo
A true Muscle car had TWO doors!!
May the muscle car never die.
yall know a good hardened bushing to extend my kennebell supercharger pulley? picked up a 01 roush mustang recently
I found a few 68 mustangs under 9000
I always wanted a catfish so yeah. Pretty cool.
I'm a new driver in Minnesota and we have snow up in this state. What are the cheapest fwd cars that are actually cool and reliable
Refreshing to see that the Squidd knows what’s up. The current ev adnausium is tiring. Let’s go.
This is basically the anti-EV vid!
@@IdealMediaChannel haha
The Germans got really good at building muscle cars
Great video man
I wish there would be a good variety of awesome cheap muscle cars in Europe
Make a part 2 and include the sn95 its definitely slept on
A 1995 LT1 Camaro under 10k. I'd hope so. It's the 1998-2002 years that most people want.
Haha you got that right!
02-07 monte Carlo is amazing for the price
Here's a suggestion: Cadillac CTS V
Doubt you can get under $10K right now but yes, amazing cars.
They are great for towing
The charger is perfect for if you tend to be late to work.
Squidie,
I promise you're always there for us. I was about to start researching musclie minivans for overlanding. lol
I just bought a minivan for overlanding you might be interested in.... it's name... Delica. Follow my IG to see it in the coming days! @thesquidd
The catfish isn’t ugly! It has its charms
Here in germany u get the 5,7L V8 Hemi in the 2008 Challanger for around 15-20k
you missed the panther chassis( crown vic/Grand marquis/town car),lincoln mkvii/chrysler 300c/dodge magnum
That fox body's a pretty heavy Miata.
Can you make vid suitable for European viewers bcz all of these cars cost a whole fortune here.
In which country?
Pontiac firebird ws6 for sure
Instead of a catfish if your looking for an awesome looking car that has the same power plant it would be a Pontiac fire hawk. It is a dead car brand and is loved by enthusiasts but it’s a great looking car with a nice couple v8 options for anyone.
I'm just glad the infiniti m45 wasn't on here. We don't need price inflation on those right now.
Just wanted to put it out there to people, always good to challenge people's expectations! Thanks for the feedback
@@IdealMediaChannel Good ting bruv 💯
Honestly, that LS1 Z28 Camaro blows away everything on this list.
While I agree they can be ugly, so is every car on this list.
The difference is, those Camaros have options off the factory line that made them not ugly.
Sport Package ground effects.
Chrome wheels.
Different hood styles.
Making it both the best performance car on the list, and arguably the most attractive.
Pontiac GXP gets 2nd place.
Mustang all day!
Not even a mention of the 4th gen TransAm? You could have mentioned it when you were talking about the Camaro as in "if you can't find a Z28 or SS Camaro, look to it's brother from Pontiac and get a Formula TransAm or a WS6." and then showed a for sale page. It's not just you guys, it seems a like a lot of car sites (unless they are a dedicated T/A site) always mentions the Camaro and never the TransAm. Sorry about the rant, I'll step off the soapbox now. You guys do a real good job...most of the time.
Hey, you're being too nice, we do a good job... some of the time! I get it, and everyone's gonna have a preference on cars. Luckily, we make about 200-300 videos a year, I bet we bring up the Trans Am in a video soon!
I'm honestly surprised about a mention of any fbody these days lol
with that light blue color and the word beast, I immediately thought this video was from Mr. beast lmao
