    Yeah but we can also make the following:
    For an x positive or |x|
    x = sqrt(x^2)
    = sqrt(x^2 -x +x)
    = sqrt(x^2 -x +sqrt(x^2 -x +x))
    = sqrt(x^2 -x + sqrt(x^2 -x +sqrt(x^2 -x ...
    Nice glasses, by the way.

      I love this generalization! So you can write 7 = sqrt(42+sqrt(42+sqrt(42+…))). It also works in reverse, so given
      n = sqrt(x + sqrt(x + …))
      then,
      n = (1 + sqrt(1 + 4x)) ÷ 2.

    Wouldn't this also converge to -4?
    Edit: Turns out I was mistaken. He didn't include the negative square root because it wasn't relevant to his proof, so the final infinity nested equation itself would not converge to -4. The -4 equation it would be an alternate solution.

      y = 20+√(20+√(20+...))
      √y = -4
      (√y)² = (-4)²
      y = 16
      But
      √16 = 4 not -4
      so it
      has no solution (he did this in one of his videos (√y = -1)
      so
      √(20+(√20+(√20 ... ))) ≠ -4
      And also check out his original channel , BlackPenRedPen he already did a nested square root video

    To prove that the first one x=5 => x-5=0
    Imma use • as multiplication here
    x=5
    x^2=x • 5
    x^2 -5=x • 5 -5
    Then x get canceled and 5-5=0
    So x-5=0
    Yes I know you can just take 5 to x but this is the fun way
