So I had played this stage with my brother in multiplayer when we were young. Then I completely recognized this stage years later. (In single player) And I didn’t know what it was until I went to the multiplayer and saw this and everything clicked
Sonic needed a better representation in smash, because when he was first announced in the Wii U version I thought they were gonna make a bunch of songs (even like 7 remixes of Green Hill Zone because it was as popular as the first level of Mario) but all we got was 3 classic zones, and some Main themes of the modern games, and only 3 zones which sucks (also Clouds only got 2 songs and a stage so him too).
Only Knuckles stands a chance in that god forsaken pit. It might as well be filled with toxic snakes, magma, or King Diamond.. Either way, it's certain death on those spikes if you're Sonic or Tails (unless you use a cheat to get flying Tails in 2). For real though, F that f-ing pit!

Yeah, Hidden Palace is a scrapped zone from Sonic 2 and wasn’t in the final Genesis version.
The only time i fell through that pit was to take a look if the legends were true (genesis emu)
