I dont know, if we plan to experiment with different formations a true cdm with athletic traits like Ugarte might be just right to further develop and use the qualities of mount bruno and mainoo moving forward as they should be the vertical playmakers for our squad. I think you underestimate Ugarte. He is press resistant and good with the ball at his feet. He is a high volume passer with 90+% completion too. He's just not a progressive passer or carrier of the ball, but moreover someone that plays it safe. If our defense consists of Lisandro, De Ligt and Kadioglu as LB we can play from the back and I see the ball arriving to the attackers. If you combine Ugarte with Maguire, Branthwaite, Evans AwB etc. We would be definitely doomed and yes we would definitely need a regista CDM like Rodri, Busquets or Palacios to distribute, but I doubt Zubimendi would be up to that task though. Ideally Neves, but we just can't afford him.
