I have been playing a Frost spec with Fire runes in PvP and have been destroying! We actually have a Frost/Fire hybrid spec available to us and I love it! I get huge 12k crits with Frostfirebolt and I don't even have Peircing Ice. Fully talented for survivability. I take Frost Channeling, Permafrost, Frostbite, Blizzard, Ice Shardes, Shatter, Barrier, & Block. And for runes Burnout, Frostfirebolt, Spell Power, Living Flame, & Living Bomb. Frostbite 3/3 is something I think you should try! It's busted in PvP for obvious reasons but in PvE it's strong with the Frostfirebolt build because your chill from your bolt can Freeze targets making your next bolt get a shatter combo (wouldn't work on boss's but strong everywhere else). As for raiding I've been loving Fire but I was playing around as Frost/Fire for PvP & questing and felt Frostfirebolt hitting so hard it made me curious to see what it does in a raid which is where I came across your video from last week. Watching it has me wanting to try a PvE build where I take Peircing Ice so I'll probably be trying a build like that but with Frostbite too soon 😊 As for the Living Flame nerf I agree completely the worst part about it is the Flames movement sleed. Now if you want to get value out of Living Flame you have to make sure you're right next to the target you're putting it on and they have a chill affect on them otherwise it will not land in pvp anymore ...Now with the Frost/fire spec you can Blink in, Cone of Cold, Living Flame, Living Bomb, Fire Blast, for a pretty nice set up to then just Kite & survive having Ice Barrier & Block to fall back on and make it work in pvp but it's tough and risky bringing yourself in close enough to get value if you don't have Block up. I do think they should revert the movement speed part of the Living Flame nerf but, I also think we have an even bigger issue... Which is how long it takes us to get our mana back. . . When I go oom it takes me 2 waters... and 45 seconds... to mana up. I would like Mages to get a rune in the future that buffs our consumes! Supercharged Food, Water, & Mana Gems! Put it in blizz please! It would decrease downtime in raids waiting for teams to buff/mana up. Who wouldn't want that? #Buffourwaters
Thank you for sharing your insights and experiences with the Frost/Fire hybrid spec! Your suggestions and tips are really helpful. I'll definitely give Frostbite a try in PvP, and your thoughts on raiding with a PvE build are intriguing. Totally agree about the Living Flame nerf and the mana regeneration issue. A rune to buff our consumes sounds like a fantastic idea! Let's hope Blizzard listens.
I'm not gonna lie, the speed buff is 100% deserved, it's super strong in PvP, No skill clicking one button and it guaranteed to hit someone. The damage nerf is... idk it's weird tbh, I'm wondering why they decided to nerf its overall damage on top of the duration, just do one of them doing both is huge, I'm not gonna complain because we're still gonna be top 4 in the dps charts.
It definitely deserved a nerf. Living Flame is a ridiculous spell. I'm maining a fire mage myself and dealing that much damage without a care in the world (i.e. not having to track the uptime too much, not having to look at your movement) is not okay. I would much rather they introduce a little bit of difficulty in managing your living flame and buffing something else if fire mages really need the damage. Which I don't think they will.
Yeah, I don't think they're buffing mages anymore. To be honest, I get what you're saying, but repeatedly nerfing one spell is quite disappointing. I mean, what's the point of introducing something if you're just going to nerf it multiple times? And when you factor in the healing nerf, it's actually the third time Living Flame has been nerfed.
For the frost PVE raid, would icy veins be better now?
I think yes, at least it should be for specific bosses, since we can refresh it with Cold Snap

sounds to me like we should be using icy veins along with our cooldowns/combustion for fireball spam. then go back to scorch when thats over
To be honest, it makes sense, at least for specific bosses. But Living Flame still isn't too bad, especially when the boss doesn't move much.
I feel like Living Flame should START on the target.
Exactly. I feel the same way.
They are falling into the old Cataclysm mindset... I wonder how much the remaining staff are working on both teams since the layoffs.
100% of player speed was quite ridiculous in pvp. Glad it got nerfed.
Agreed with you on PvP; to be honest, it wasn't fair.

Honestly it should just start on the target and have a 70% movement speed of base. would be balanced in pvp

Guys now Shamman tank doing 800 + dps on 2h and mage 450 xD u need pi, all bis inner and using scorch too got 600 +
Now make living bomb a 1.5 sec cast and make frost stronger.
Agreed! Frost meta time! 🤣
