    Thanks a lot. Those who learn to perfect this simple yet powerful technique for creating natural movements in animations with SINE and other math functions can go a long ways. I don't know if it's accurate to say this, but I picture how a whale moves it's back tail fin is kind of like a natural SINE movement.

    • @Xan3D
      @Xan3D  3 месяца назад +2

      Thanks! That's a great connection about whales' movement and a sine wave! Isn't 🌊 ocean waves all sine waves? At the end, all the life on cosmos is about movement: in a big scale or a small scale like atoms spinning in some frequency. So, yeah, there are a lot of maths / science and beauty in all of us and everything that exist 😃

      Well this got pretty deep… and to add to it, everything moves in a circular motion too.. solar system, planets, eyes, wheels, atoms, sound… regardless I’m def digging this tutorial technique and y’all’s input.. def love it ❤ let’s continue learning together shall we

    That's cool but how do I give the sine a gradient so it starts with a big amplitude and ends with a small amplitude? And is there a way to use Absolute to prevent the object from going below the grid so it looks like it's bouncing?

    • @aliensoup2420
      @aliensoup2420 3 месяца назад

      You insert another function after the sine output, such as an exponential, a line, or another sine operator. To offset the wave, insert an Addition node after the sine output.

    THAT is so cool...this is what I mean when I say foundational things like this expand one's imagination of what is possible. This gives me creative ideas. I am trying to learn both UE and Blender, just not enough time in a day. I am also going tosee if I can replicate something like this in UE. This gives so many ideas, I just donhave enough time to work on all this stuff bubbling up inside my head. I need 72-days with 8-hour work days so I can spend the difference learning these programs.😅😅

    • @Xan3D
      @Xan3D  3 месяца назад +1

      Thank you mate! I would like to learn UE, but first I want to master a bit Blender and Geometry Nodes. Then I will decide. I feel you: we have only 24h per day (subtract sleep, eating, etc) and it's hard to find time to learn new things. But what works for me, it's to try to focus on a main topic. So depending on the month/season, I "try" to 🎯 prioritize something and go full mode 💪 That's means also to say NO to a lot of other things. But I always feel happy doing it. Because if you stay in focus, you start noticing improvements and progress, and then you feel proud of yourself.
      For example, that's what I'm doing right now with this channel. I have been publishing more than 40 videos consecutively. 1 video every day. That's a lot of work and time-consuming (planing, recording, editing, thumbnails, publishing, etc). I won't do it forever. But I wanted to go serious with this channel, at least at the beginning. In some point I will slow down and publish not every day. But I did it more for ME, than to gain subs. I did it to show me if I could build this habit for a month (30 days) and see how it goes 😃 and I'm happy about the progress. I know publishing a video per day is not always the best decision, because not everyone will watch your videos and some will have fewer views. But I don't care :)
      So, the main point it's: the more you focus and prioritize something in your life (during a period of time) faster you will improve, and you will see results. Also, this will give you motivation for the next challenge. Because you will think: if in the past I did X, then now I can do this new challenge I'm thinking about. So, let's do it! 🔥

      @Xan3D You mentioned knowing After Effects in another comment....have you ever toyed with DaVinci Resolve 18? I just picked it up last week. It is a powerful free Video/Audio editing software with After Effects ability. You may already know about it, but if not, check it out. That is another item on my list to try to learn. With UE5, Blender, DaVinci, and Omnivrse Audio2Face, I am finally getting some semblance of how to turn some of my novels into 3D animation. That would be so cool😎 That's my goal anyway. I enjoy the creative process and the learning involved. Keep up the good work. BTW, we have a Spanish connection 😀 through the mrs.

      I know Davinci Resolve as basic user to edit and do little things, but I don't use it too much because I always use Premiere and I like the minimalist UI. I like to hide the panels I don't use and just get the basics one. It feels more intuitive for me. Also, because I work and edit a lot with After Effects. So, that's why I still have resistance to work with Davinci. I know it's the best for color grading, but I almost never touch the colors on my tutorials. So, for now, I don't see a real benefit to jump on it and leave Premiere.
      About Omniverse I don't know what is. Could you tell me for what you use it?
      Making a 3D novels animation looks interesting. I wish the best with your project! I'm curious to see something about it :D

      @Xan3D Ominverse Audio2Face is by Nvidia, the chip company. You can use a voice file, for example from ElevenLabs and then have you 3D character lipsyn the words with facial expression s. It is not perfect, but it can save alot of time trying to manually rig facial features and lips.

      Both are great, but there is a little difference: the sine movement is smoother (with easy in and easy out) than ping pong (lineal, more robotic).

You explain things so well! Thank you for this channel. Keep up the good work! Thank you man!! Honestly, I'm not an expert. I just like to really dive on the topic when I try to learn new things that interest me. I like to understand the WHY, the reason behind why something works like this. That's why I try to explain it on the same way :) Because once we understand the WHY of things, then we can do the HOWs to do stuff.
      I follow Ducky 3D and Ryankingart too, they are great teachers too. Thanks for the recommendation and your support ❤️

      I'm not a teacher, but I like to learn a lot of things and teach them. Basically, If I feel passioned about something, I like to try to show this passion to other people to see if they can feel the same as I feel 😃
      I have another channel (the main one, call "Xan Tips" with more than 20.000 subs) where I teach tutorials about After Effects, Premiere, Blender and other stuff, but it's in Spanish. I have been doing tutorials during approx 2 years and half with more 200 tuts there. So, I got some experience. Last year, I started learning Blender because I was tired to get stuck in 2D and I wanted to jump to 3D. Then I tried to teach Blender on the other channel. People like the videos, but as most of my subscribers are more interest in After Effects and 2D (because I have more than 100 videos of AE) when I publish a Blender tutorial then it has fewer views. And if it's about Geometry Nodes, you can imagine then the result 😂 That's the problem if you have a channel where you try to teach to many programs. Not everyone will watch all your new videos. Or they will click and then leave fast as they are not interest on this program. If you create a new channel, my advice is better to focus on a main topic / niche
      So, more I was learning about Blender more I was interest on Geometry Nodes and 3D animations. So, I wanted to help people to learn about it and that's why I decided to create a new channel and do it in English. First, because it will reach more people than just Spanish speakers. And secondly, because it will be only 3D and Blender (for now, maybe one day I try Unreal Engine, who knows). But, my main goal was 3D. That's why the channel is called "Xan 3D". To make it so obvious, what are you going to learn here.
      I still have some difficulties talking in English because it is not my native language, and I'm not as fluent as doing it in Spanish. But I'm happy that I started this channel. Because it forces me to improve. I think it's always a great idea to try to get over your fears 💪
      About the future, I would like to make a course, because it is really hard to make money on RUclips just teaching. Also because a lot of people on the Spanish channel asked me if I had a course about After Effects and Blender and I still don't have any. I would like to create a website and publish my courses, but I still have no idea how to do it (website to upload videos, create a system to log in and pay, etc). But it's on my future plans :)

    Can anyone explain how and when use multiply node? I cant get it.

    • @Xan3D
      @Xan3D  3 месяца назад +1

      Multiply like Add, Substrat and Divide has 2 inputs values and 1 output value (the result).
      So, use it to take 1 value (previous node) and multiply it by another value to get a result.
      For example:
      INCREASE: If you have 5 🪙 (input) and you multiply it by 2 (another input), the result will be 10 🪙 (output).
      DIVIDE: If you have 4 🪙 (input) and you multiply it by 0,5 (input) you will get 2 🪙 (output).
      INVERT: If you have have 10 🪙 and you multiply it by (-1) you will get - 10 🪙.
      So, use multiple when you want to increase, divide or invert the result of something.
      That's why the first multiply after Sine, just increase the wave, the amplitude. It just expands the maximum and minimum values, that's all. And the multiply before Sine is different because is multiplying the result before going to Sine. The order always matters.
      I hope this help you :)
