WHY 8MM & SUPER8 HOME MOVIE ARCHIVAL FOOTAGE IS IMPORTANT?
Old Family films shot on 8mm/super8 (sometimes even on 16mm) are an invaluable collection of unseen personal testimonies from our history.
Unfortunately, the condition of these film reels is often dramatic, as they are stored in inadequate places and handed down to individuals who don’t know how to project them.
At Archival Footage Service, we strive to build an archive of family films that is accessible to everyone through our RUclips channel.

Great film. From personal experience, visiting Malta from 1988 onwards, the Island has changed so much, sadly not always for the better. I wished I had been able to see the Island in the sixties and seventies.

fantastic footage. would have been happy if film maker got some raf luqa shots. walked down the steps to strait street for 4.5 years (2014-2018) and it still looks the same. in those 4.5 years i saw valletta change considerably.

I was stationed in Malta, 1969 to 1972, thrown out with all HM Forces by the foolish Dom Mintoff. Met and married my WREN wife in 1970. It was a very different place then, all history and very few tourists, They ruined the place when they cossid up to Libya; and then to the EU, two big, big mistakes. We now live in Thailand and I was shocked to hear how expensive it is to live in Malta as an expat, in comparison to here.
