It could be both. But most probably the early stage of the assembly wb is a bit shaky when the model becomes large or complex like the one I build. hopefully things will get better in the next version of the workbench.

FreeCAD has a full refund policy. They will refund you the full amount you paid for the software, if it sucked too much. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the software?
