I noticed when I don’t close apps they use ton of battery in the background! So if closing them require some battery to open it up again, I don’t think it’s worse than letting these apps cook ur battery in the background!
Check your settings bro. There’re two settings you should take a look at them: 1- Background App Refresh: just toggle off the apps that consuming your battery 2- Settings> App Store> In-App Content Toggle this off also and you’ll see a different in your battery health
I close apps for two simple reasons; 1) To clean up the carousel so there’s less apps to scroll through when switching between more than two apps. 2) It’s good at the end of the day to clear the deck for a fresh start tomorrow. The only apps I persistently leave open are those that need to be open in the background to function.
“… Need to be open in the background to function” - that is exactly what’s wrong. iOS will decide what to run on the background, based on the application itself rather than on what you decide to keep running. Apple confirmed this multiple times. Other than this, your first reason is more of a personal preference, and no body can tell you what to do to feel better with you phone! But the technical aspect is another thing.
Sometimes I also swipe away all the apps in there, but only when I'm intending to switch between specific apps, such as during travel or photography/editing. You should only refrain from closing apps religiously if you're doing it for performance/battery - that is unnecessary.
I close some things because I know I am not going to need them for awhile. Other things that I use on an ongoing daily basis stay open. I do that because I like things to be a bit cleaner.
Ios 17.2.1 here, for the first few days the battery was very bad but after a week it got okay and now i get like 6-8 hrs screentime again. My guess is that maybe the phone is still processing the update for the firsr few days might be the reason why the battery drains. I noticed that my phone got faster too. The only problem is that some apps got buggy
I use the low power because the ding in performance isn't really hindering what I want to do. The battery drain is ridiculous even though the health says 83% and is supposed to still be ok. Iphone 12 pro max
80% is just what Apple recommends, not necessarily the required point that you should change the battery. I’ve seen lots of people not really care, and juice the battery till it can’t survive.
Once you share your wifi network they can then look up the password by looking in their known networks and tapping to view the password. Unless they changed that in iOS recently.
I used it on my iphone SE, Iphone 8 and iphone SE 2022 for many years everytime I charged it up, I had no issues. The performance was still absolutely okay and my battery was healthy. He is talking about a lot of crap in the video. If you don’t use an application for many hours you should close it, cause it will run in the background and it won’t be good in the longterm…

First Mistake is not a mistake at all, if you don‘t close your apps in the background it can happen that some apps crash and still work in the background while cooking your battery in exchange
I used to be android user and like many, I used to always close down all apps. I learned at some point that iOS does great at optimizing with keeping apps in check. I actually watched a side-by-side comparison and iOS is impressively effective.
I always close them so when I open say a weather app it’s current. Sometimes if left open it won’t refresh until I manually refresh them. Maybe that just the app I don’t know.
spend $1000s on a phone and dont use it (facepalm) just use it as you wish and replace battery if ever needed years down the line for $150. All this only charge to 80% and dont let go below 20% so you buy a new phone and can only use 60% of battery 🙄
This is bad information. An open app does consume energy for sure, even though it’s not much. So closing them overnight for example saves a lot of battery. Closing safari after every use doesn’t make much sense, but closing them when you’re not going to use them makes a lot of sense and saves battery.
@@AnonymityA It was a bug on my 14PM, and now my 15PM. Unless I manually close the Safari app, the Screen idle will show many hours of usage. If I systematically close Safari, then my Screen active time will display 8+ hours, and Screen idle will show 6 minutes.

The apps need to reload anyways; they’re just a black slab of nothing in the background.
I always see that when I close apps the battery drains a lot slower. I don’t mind waiting to reload an app if it means saving battery life
Exactly.
turn off background app refresh in settings
isnt it the quite opposite?
