Easily the simplest method I have seen to achieve this required validation. Excellently explained without all the usual bumf and constant repetition you get on these videos👍. A question though, how do you prevent one of the list from ever hiding when selected, like a permanent piece of data for the list?

This has to be one of the most well made teaching videos I have seen.

By far the simplest and most efficient method to prevent duplicate selections from a list of several hundred unique choices.
In my case assigning hundreds of phone numbers to users across multiple branches, and ensuring the correct phone number is allocated per branch. while ensuring that same phone number is not assigned to multiple staff, I use a combination of protected sheets & locked cells (for those staff that just type, delete, copy, paste and insert columns & rows and mess up all the formulas & formatting). I love the fact that you added in the table method and I used it in combination with Named ranges.

This worked great on my PC, but when I opened it in excel on my MacBook pro it did not work. The formula changed. When I tried to type it back it, I get errors. The data validation does not work wither. There is nothing in the drop down now. any ideas on how to make this work for excel using a mac?

What do I do if I have a name list with 12 names and want to distribute them into two lists.
Example; I have 12 players in a basketball team and want to make two substitutions in one period. That is, 10 players on two lists, of which 2 players remain.
You have one list "assigned to", but I want two lists.
