As someone who has oily skin and lives in a country that’s hot and humid all year long, I do not appreciate a dewy glow because makes me look sweaty. So glad to have something moisturizer that hydrates but doesn’t add additional natural glow on the market!!!
Doctors i think what your doing by taking the time from your busy days and making these very informative videos says alot about who you are as men. You are helping alot of people who otherwise wouldn’t have the means to seek out this type of care. So please know what your doing is helping alot of people. Thankyou.
I’ve tried both - I have very oily skin and mainly blackhead concerns. The Cetaphil moisturizer left my skin VERY shiny. My skin felt very moisturized and soft but the greasy/shiny look was a hard pass. The CeraVe gel is amazing and my skin improved greatly in a short period of time.
Do you use the CeraVe gel everyday? I'm super excited about this product and about to go buy it because I already have the cleanser and I love it! In the video he said he would use it once or twice a week so just wondering if it would be harmful to use everyday or should I use it everyday?
@@jessforeveryoung2398 I use it everyday in my routine - cleanse, tone, use this CeraVe gel, moisturize, spf. My skin is sensitive to new products but has been salicylic acid bombed daily since 2007 so I had no issue with irritation. Hope it helps
i'd love to see a video dedicated to addressing dry acne prone skin! Not that many people talk about effective routines/products that actually address both issues
Yesss, great suggestion!!! I have the same issue and it’s so difficult to get a routine that is hydrating enough, but will still help with acne. Sometimes the dryness is irritating and will worsen with the use of actives.
Omg yes! I have comedone acne with as of fall, it's dry combination now. My acne is under control cuz I started using retinol in squalane from ordinary.. So I have gone a bit tight n drier.. But I mix potreleoum jelly with my moisturizer at night on my face now. But it's hard to find the perfect balance of hydration n moist
Agree! I'm almost 30 and still get hormonal/acne deep cysts on my chin and jawline but the rest of my skin is so dry and sensitive! These guys are incredible but I'm having trouble putting together a benzo/SA/retinol routine that is gentle enough for sensitive dry skin. Still thanks for the videos guys! So helpful.
Dr. Shah has said lactic acid is good for exfoliation, because its moisturizing and exfoliating at the same time. so i would suggest looking into lactic acid, i cant give any other helpful info bc i dont have dry skin myself, but i suggest u research about lactic acid so u can figure out if its suitable for u :)!
I've been using the CeraVe Acne Control Gel for a few months and I love it. I use it along with my (prescription) Azelaic Acid and Clindamycin lotion on my acne prone chin area and it has worked very well without irritating my sensitive skin. Great product!
I have oily skin and that Cetaphil moisturizer has been a game-changer for me. I use it in the daytime, and use a thicker moisturizer (Skin Fix Triple Lipid-Peptide Cream) at night. My oil production feels controlled and that Cetaphil moisturizer feels so lightweight. I apply the Biossance Sheer Mineral Sunscreen over it as well. I have not had any oily/shiny days lately and I’m very happy. (My cleanser is the Centella Green Tea cleanser by Hyram btw)
I'd love to see a video talking about setting up a good skin care routine for Preteens. Including what to add or change as she moves into her teens. Thank you both for everything you do to make navigating the skincare minefield a lot easier.
I have oily skin, not really any acne but I still love the Cetaphil moisturizer for controlling my oil. I love that a skin care product actually makes me look better immediately.
CeraVe is pushed so hard and burns my and many others sensitive skin. Eucerin redness and Q10 AMAZING, their thick roughness relief for your feet and hands, the best!! and Cetaphil nice! CeraVe skin renewing retinol is their one good for sensitive skin.

I have struggled with acne worse than I have ever had when I was a teenager. Now that I'm in my 20s acne has become worse! Everything has dried my face out and has made my face itch and burn! This cetaphil acne wash and moisturizer has saved my skin! Amazing I almost wanted to give up! I went to walgreens and they didn't have it, I also had to go to target to find it!
I love the cetaphil moisturizer. I’ve been wanting to add a leave on salicylic acid for a while without having to add another step. It’s been a game changer for me. I get sebaceous filaments and it has helped a lot.
Thanks so much, my pharmecist told me to use the CeraVe Acne Control Gel instead of my moisterizer at night and it was improving my acne but I did notice a general redness flaring up since I started using it. Your explenation about using this as a serum and only 2-times a week makes all the difference. You guys are my "go to" on everything skincare, so I'm very grateful that you covered this.
I tried so damn much to improve my acne. I'm over 30 and still have acne. My dermatologist told me I have very soft and sensitive skin, but nothing helped so far. The only time my skin was perfect, was the time I was on birth control, but the hormones made me sick, after some time. Now I'm trying CeraVe and do some research about it. I hope it will help. Since the past years you'll get CeraVe in most of the pharmacies, at least where I live (Europe). This is a big plus. Thank you for the video and help.
I’m personally allergic to salicylic acid and everyone uses it in their products! I wish they would offer more products with benzoyl peroxide so we as consumers have an option. I currently use the cerave face wash with benzoyl peroxide and I love it. It would be awesome to have products like these two with the benzoyl peroxide and not salicylic acid!!! Love your videos!

CeraVe salicylic gel is a great product. I have more mature skin and use it as an exfoliating agent for anti-aging and skin texture. As Dr. Shah recommends, I use this as part of my skin care routine.
I’ve been following you guys since the beginning. So nice to see your following in the 900k! You guys rock ! Thanks and always appreciate your videos ! 🙏
I've been using the CeraVe Acne Control Gel for a few months now and I absolutely love it! Feels nice on the skin and really does help to control acne. Also, great to have as a backup "weapon" whenever you get the occasional pimple that just loves to make an appearance at the worst of times.
Thank you so much for this review. I bought the Cerave acne gel from Amazon because I was suffering from acne and hyperpigmentation and it is working like a miracle. It is one week now and I have not had any new acne, plus the hyperpigmentation is fading away. I use it every other day because it is the first time I am using salicylic acid in my skincare. I only got some redness which disappeared in a day. I am so happy to have watched this video. And soon we are hitting 1M subscribers💪💪
Dr Dray did a review on it. She said basically the only beneficial ingredient in it is caffeine. So buying a cheaper caffeine serum elsewhere would be a smart decision. But I'd be interested to hear other derms opinions on it as well. Personally I tried it and it didn't do anything for me besides make my roots greasy.
Venus I agree with you! I bought the 3 pack and I tried it for 3 months. After looking at my before and after pictures I saw NO difference. It's definitely overrated. I was so disappointed considering how expensive it is.
I personally like cetaphil better than CeraVe for one reason: CeraVe puts HA in everything. I find that my skin over time had developed a sensitivity to HA. Whenever I apply it, my skin looks okay at first, but within a few minutes after the moisturizer soaks in, (CeraVe AM moisturizer w SPF 30), my skin around my eyes ends up looking crepey in texture when I smile or move my face. HA also stings me depending on how sensitive my skin is at the time. I learned HA doesn’t help your skin long term, it does hydrate temporarily but can also pull moisture out of the deeper layers of your skin to the surface (and that seems counterproductive to me eclectically because of inevitable moisture loss). So I found a new Ceraphil daily moisturizer with SPF 45, contains niacinimide in the ingredient list and NO HA. So we shall see, day 2 so far so good, and under eye area doesn’t look dry or crepey so far

I was looking if they made a video on the cera ve acne control gel yesterday and there wasn’t any. Woke up this morning to a video! It’s like they knew I wanted it ❤️
I heard what I needed to hear!! I came to this video because I started to use the cerave gel and it’s literally bringing out pimples that has lived under my skin for a looong time and I got nervous thinking I was breaking out even more.
Regime labs!!!! Please review them! The Level Up and Vitamin X serums are both worth looking into I think. And the brand mindset seems to align with yours.
I know this is two years ago but I just grabbed the Ceraphil moisturiser as my usual go-to was out of stock and wanted to make sure it was decent. I love mattifying moisturisers and this looks so good. Thanks for the info!
The cetaphil moisturiser is amazing I use this. An brought it on a recent trip to America. Please stock this in the uk cetaphil! It really has improved my skin drastically. An I’ve used prescription products with less success! X
Quick question: what are your go-to products if you're stranded in the desert? You can only pick 4 items. Thank you Doctor Shah and Maxfield (M&S) for always taking out time to make these videos and giving your honest opinion❤.
I love your channel, it’s helped me learn about skincare and I feel so much more confident when I hit the shops for a moisturizer or a serum. One item that’s been marketed to me is the Lyma laser. It’s a lot of money so I’m interested in your thoughts/review/analysis.
I would love it if you could do a video on the issue with acne on the backs of the arms please! I've struggled with it my whole life and used to tan in beds because it help them sorta dry up... but now my 10yr old son is showing signs of having it as well & I would love to nip it before it becomes something that he becomes insecure about. Thanks for all the knowledge you guys bring to us!!
I went right after watching this and got the gentle acne wash by accident and then went back and got the mattifying acne moisturizer and loved it. Thanks Dr Shah and Dr Maxfield❤️
I can see that you guys are very professional with these products and I wish I can see you in person and give you a big thank you because I have combination skin and right now my acne isn't that bad but it would be good for me to prevent and also help with my hyperpigmentation. Also I do have very sensitive skin and have eczema bit I try to take care of my skin every night but now that I know that it works for acne and sensitive skin I am now tempted to buy this so thank you very much and I watch your vids all the time and they are great! 😁
Hello. I was not a good at searching an acne's product, either on RUclips or Other social media. I was really struggling with acne back then, and lucky me after I just tried cetaphil product and it was works on me. I just don't know why, I didn' bother to find out the ingredients in it, but I just believe because when I tried and it works. At the time I didn't even know my scin type. Lol. But cetaphil really helps me.
I'm from india and cerave is SO EXPENSIVE i can't afford 2000 rupees for one item. Cetaphil is cheaper thankfully. But all foreign dermats always recommend cerave 🙃😭
Been using Cetaphil Acne Moisturizer for few month via ordering them from amazon suddenly they are not shipping here in Philippines. Currently looking for better alternatives. Even Cetaphil here dont sell them which sucks. Its a good product that helps me with Acne.

Hi Dr. Maxfield and Dr. Shah, I would really like to know if Kiehl's is worth the money. Thanks so much for sharing your passion of skin care and all the time and effort you put into educating us.
It really depends on which product you’re talking about specifically! Not all the products are good and not all the products are bad. Some of my favorite products actually come from Kiehls, specifically the ultra facial cream and their new retinol serum are amazing. On the other hand, they do have a lot of products with heavy fragrance that I personally avoid. Initially, I was skeptical about the brand but the more I try their products, the more that I like them. They have a super long history in apothecary medicine and skin care formulation that was maintained after they was acquired by l’oreal. That being said, you can definitely find products that are less expensive with similar ingredients. But, when the formula comes together, it’s hard for me to find a moisturizer better than the ultra facial cream! It’s a top 3 for me
@@Doctorly Thanks so much for the help. I use the retinol skin-renewing daily micro-ose serum because I saw Dr. Shah using it. I'm also using the ultra facial oil-free gel cream for the summer and the facial fuel no-shine moisturizing lip balm is WELL worth every penny of its $10 price tag. I always keep 6-8 on hand at all times. I will definitely try the ultra facial cream for winter use. Thank you again for the help. You are bothing amazing and I'm so glad I found you're channel. Have a great one. - Laurent
Was with cerave it was a little too much for my skin now currently trying Cetaphil acne sensitive skin cause I have combination sensitive acne prone skin one of the most HARDEST skin types lol praying Cetaphil does me justice.
What do you do with sensitive skin with acne? I have deeper cystic acne along my jawline and contour areas and chin, I have tried the paulas choice exfoliant but every time I use it it dries my skin out for a week especially under the eyes. I’m thinking of using it much lower and just using it in the areas I need it. Most moisturisers break me out and give me blocked pores and more whiteheads, face washes also can break me out if they have mild fragrance or are too hydrating like the oat cleanser by the inkey list my skin didn’t seem to like it, like it was hydrating but I got lots of clogged pores and blackheads, I doubt I could afford a dermatologist, I’ve bought acnecide cream which is benzoyl peroxide to use on the acne areas but I don’t know if it’s helping, I was thinking of using one of the online dermatologist monthly subscriptions to see if that would help, I’m 27 and my acne just keeps getting worse and I’m kind of at a loss with what to do, I buy so much stuff because most things my skin doesn’t like and I’m tired of experimenting and hoping and I just want something to work
Could you review the Completely Bare go fuzz free facial moisturizer & hair inhibitor. I have PCOS and struggle with facial hair growth. I'm currently beginning treatment with Vaniqa, but it is so expensive and insurance does not cover it. I know laser hair removal could work as well, but price is a limiting factor. Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time and expertise! Love your videos!!!

Yea the sexy Doctors show again. I have to get over to that discord place you keep talking about this week. I have to find the link in one of your other videos. I would love more product reviews. I am using exfoliating products from the brand CATRICE 1. PORE 2 in one- peeling and toner - contains 1%BHA, 3% AHA 2. GLOW skin renewal toner, contains 5% PHA, 3% AHA, 15% aloe vera In Europe one of these two is usually available in every dm(Drogerie Markt) and I have also seen it in other drug stores. It costs max 7 EUROs each. Do you have experience with these products? I am using them for 1 month now but I am still kind of not sure it is the right choice as it seems too cheap in comparison to other products with similar composition. So far I have no bad skin reaction but still,...
I have been watching lot of your videos, thank you for making them. They have been really helpful. Can you do a video on vegan and cruelty free skincare? Which is the best substitute for Cerave moisturizers? Also can do you a video on dry shampoos, how they work, are they good for scalp, and if yes, which are the best ones!
So the cetaphil is like a moisturizer that you can apply after like your skin care routine after your serums etc. This isn’t like a acne acne treatment where you leave it on for a little bit then rinse off. This is like any other moisturizer you know what I’m saying. You apply and leave it

Sorry, it’s SPF 45 and it is for combination skin. My face feels moisturized but not greasy so I like it so far
I think the reason might be you need to put ha on wet skin, since it draws moisture from the air

my 10yo likes the cetaphil moisturizer a lot, and so do i! great price and it’s super effective. love it! keep these reviews coming!
Cetaphil is great for mature roseca prone skin it cleared my face up quickly and left is soft totally recommend the acne moisturizer
Thank you for this video. It’s nice to see two products compared. I get overwhelmed with all the info but this video was pretty easy to grasp.
Dr. Maxsfield’s joy at getting his first ever in life product Dr Shah didn’t sent me lol
I have been using the CeraVe acne control gel since this summer. I love it and would recommend it.
Hi, there. Is it okay to use the product everyday?
@@evanstonsy4656 Yes, just be sure to wear sunscreen.
How to apply the product? Is it must apply moisturizer after use that or just put in the last night skincare routine?
What's ur skin type?
I know this is two years ago but I just grabbed the Ceraphil moisturiser as my usual go-to was out of stock and wanted to make sure it was decent. I love mattifying moisturisers and this looks so good. Thanks for the info!
The cetaphil moisturiser is amazing I use this. An brought it on a recent trip to America. Please stock this in the uk cetaphil!
It really has improved my skin drastically. An I’ve used prescription products with less success! X
Did it clear acne and if it did how long did it take
@@arpansen8411 it did and helps keep it at bay. Around 3 weeks I would give it minimum!
I beg you guys do a video on nasolabial folds. Talk about diet and loosing weight / gaining weight might cause wrinkles.
Hi Dr.Shad and Dr.Maxfield, I have a question. Can we use Pepetide and Retinol together? And how to layer them?
Ahhhhh finally, a review I really need. Thank you 🙏
And THANK YOU. We trust you so much when I see y'all's advice on something I'll actually consider buying it!
Quick question: what are your go-to products if you're stranded in the desert? You can only pick 4 items.
Thank you Doctor Shah and Maxfield (M&S) for always taking out time to make these videos and giving your honest opinion❤.
Haha i feel like this needs to be a dedicated video. I'm gonna hold off answering and screenshot this -Dr. Maxfield
@@Doctorly 😂😂okay.
@@Doctorly this video is desperate needed for the entire southwest of u.s.
Is it acne on the back on your/his arms or is it keratosis pilaris? They improve with different ingredients/products.
With Dermalmd Dries pimples overnight! Stings a little when you first apply it, and it doesn’t smell good but it’s really effective
Trust is everything and we trust you guys!
I'm from india and cerave is SO EXPENSIVE i can't afford 2000 rupees for one item. Cetaphil is cheaper thankfully. But all foreign dermats always recommend cerave 🙃😭
Thank you so much for taking the time to make in depth videos on this products
Been using Cetaphil Acne Moisturizer for few month via ordering them from amazon suddenly they are not shipping here in Philippines. Currently looking for better alternatives. Even Cetaphil here dont sell them which sucks. Its a good product that helps me with Acne.
Love you guys I started following you when you only had like 50K followers and look at you guys now ! Thank you for all the info you provide
I am soooo out of domain guy to be here but trust me a simple guy learnt almost as much as a dermatologist in my country would have and thanks to them I got my skin better and have knowledge to pass on my kids as part of their teenage grooming. GG Doctorly
- Laurent
Was with cerave it was a little too much for my skin now currently trying Cetaphil acne sensitive skin cause I have combination sensitive acne prone skin one of the most HARDEST skin types lol praying Cetaphil does me justice.
did it work for you?
What do you do with sensitive skin with acne? I have deeper cystic acne along my jawline and contour areas and chin, I have tried the paulas choice exfoliant but every time I use it it dries my skin out for a week especially under the eyes. I’m thinking of using it much lower and just using it in the areas I need it. Most moisturisers break me out and give me blocked pores and more whiteheads, face washes also can break me out if they have mild fragrance or are too hydrating like the oat cleanser by the inkey list my skin didn’t seem to like it, like it was hydrating but I got lots of clogged pores and blackheads, I doubt I could afford a dermatologist, I’ve bought acnecide cream which is benzoyl peroxide to use on the acne areas but I don’t know if it’s helping, I was thinking of using one of the online dermatologist monthly subscriptions to see if that would help, I’m 27 and my acne just keeps getting worse and I’m kind of at a loss with what to do, I buy so much stuff because most things my skin doesn’t like and I’m tired of experimenting and hoping and I just want something to work
Thank you so much for both of you that always dedicated your value time to educate all of us. Super dooper appreciated ☺️🙏💗
Another one to consider is the Neutrogena Stubborn Blackhead Daily Acne Facial Serum
Can we use both of them together....i mean washing from cerave and moisturizing with cetaphil?
Could you review the Completely Bare go fuzz free facial moisturizer & hair inhibitor. I have PCOS and struggle with facial hair growth. I'm currently beginning treatment with Vaniqa, but it is so expensive and insurance does not cover it. I know laser hair removal could work as well, but price is a limiting factor. Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time and expertise! Love your videos!!!
Damn, I already use these at the same time.
But I’m making the mistake of not using the moisturizer after the acne control gel.
Nice review, thanks!
Hi love your channel. Sadly in Australia we don’t have either of those products yet 😔. Could you please do product review on La Roche Posay
I have the Cetaphil A Moisturizer & like very much,it was at Walgreens & Walmart (on special sale ) soon as it came out, love it,would like to hear your review of Cetaphils New Vitamin C serum, which I am also using. Exuviance/Neostrata very good, but You think too expensive? Thank You
Yes, thank you for considering the availability of products. Skincare life is hard outside the US... Love to know your thoughts on Avene RetrinAL EYES.
Both of these companies have great products that I use. Affordable, easy to find and they work 👍👍 Great vid guys.
New products to review... The peach slices snail 🐌 mucin mask, moisturizer, and toner. Thanks 🐌 🍑
Just found this channel and am loving it here❤
Hi, I live in Canada and I don’t have access to any of those products, is there an alternative available in Canada that is affordable and effective? Please help I’m begging you!
Thanks for the rec. I will definitely try the moisterizer! Sold!
I'll be picking up the cerave product soon.
Thanks so much doc's
Yea the sexy Doctors show again. I have to get over to that discord place you keep talking about this week. I have to find the link in one of your other videos. I would love more product reviews. And I love what you said about the Cerave one. Can be used by anyone with or without acne. And one more time, I see the "Like" button but where the hell is the "LOVE" button? ;-)))
Thanks for always stopping by Debra!! - Shah
If Cerave is not available in your country and you looking for a similar product to the gel try the Eucerin Skin Renewal Treatment.
Hi! Thanks for all the great information! You guys are always informative and so fun to watch. Love the editing!! 💙💜
Love the cetaphil matte moisturiser! It is so fast absorbing, i can hit the bed immediately
I am using exfoliating products from the brand CATRICE
1. PORE 2 in one- peeling and toner - contains 1%BHA, 3% AHA
2. GLOW skin renewal toner, contains 5% PHA, 3% AHA, 15% aloe vera
In Europe one of these two is usually available in every dm(Drogerie Markt) and I have also seen it in other drug stores. It costs max 7 EUROs each. Do you have experience with these products? I am using them for 1 month now but I am still kind of not sure it is the right choice as it seems too cheap in comparison to other products with similar composition. So far I have no bad skin reaction but still,...
The brand differin is coming out with a whole line of acne prone cleansers and moisturizers you should consider reviewing these
I have combo, sensitive, acne prone/with hyperpigmentation skin… what product would I use?? Lol! And I also like the dewy look!
You apply and leave it
Thank u Doctorly, really appreciate your education...where can we get these products in RSA, Cape town?
Hello I am trying to find a new skin care routine. I've always used bar soap and at 35 my acne is worse than it ever has been. My skin is always oily but that might be from the bar soap. Please let me know if you think this is a safe start.
1 Cetaphil foam face wash
2 Retinol 2%
3 Cetaphil acne moisturizer
I might have to start using my Acne Control gel from Cerave again. I thought it was just a spot treatment.
Thank you so much for product review. Your videos are extremely informative and fun to watch. My request- please please do a review on “cyspera intensive pigment corrector”. Also, can buy cyspera without prescription.

Dr Maxfield won't let Dr Shah breath 🤣🤌 the intro and then all the products sent to Dr Maxfield
Hi doctors! I struggle with normal to oily skin and I’m new to the “acne struggle bus” as I have acquired some new adult acne. I’m attempting to find products/regimens that would be beneficial for me and my newfound skin condition. I’m wanting to try the Cetaphil moisturizer, but wondering if I can use this along with Differin Adapalene gel. If so, how would I use both of these together? Suggestions on proper use? I would appreciate any input or advice. Thanks in advance!
Would love to see a review on Neutrogena products
Paula’s Choice is also at Nordstrom 😀
Can you please review the Head & Shoulders Royal Oils Instant Soothe Scalp Elixir? It has products that support healthy scalp and hair but I’m not sure in what percentages. Thank you and love your channel 🙂
New brand RFLCT claims to help with blue light and its negative impact on skin and aging. Thoughts?
can I use this alternately with cerave skin renewing retinol serum like every other night?
