Thoroughly enjoyed this. This bike would be epic for a blind shock test. We could finally get a true indicating of what different shocks feel like without any visual bias. I would love to see these guys try out different air shocks for a few days and decide which one they would race/ride with.
Personally, I want the shock out where I can see it. Shocks are sexy pieces of hardware. Plus I like being able to glance down and see how much sag I have, and occasionally reset the O-ring before a run, and see how much of the travel I'm using. Plus I like to swap back and forth between my coil and air shocks, depending on the type of riding.
This bike is basically the enduro version of my Scott Spark…it even uses the same headset and cockpit. The hidden shock is great. Looks slick, keeps the crap off of it, and easy enough to adjust (the Spark had an external sag indicator which helps tremendously). Plus Scott designed the frame so the edges of the access port won’t cut into your hands. The Syncros headset and cockpit however are awful. Mostly because of the headset cable routing. I decided I wanted a slightly higher bar position which meant new bars, a new stem (with a different stack height) and I’m still trying to find a place that has the Syncros spacer kit for this headset in stock. Looks nice and tidy and if the stock cockpit fits you perfect then awesome, but if you get this be prepared to spend more money just to make slight adjustments.
Nice flow of thought there, I really loved this review. Especially the tech nightmare part :D I’ m using the little brother of that shock in a Scott Spark. But I live next to the Scott dealer, so I just drop the bike there if I need servicing on it. I chose that bike despite its integration, and not because of it. I just felt that its riding characteristics and geometry fit me like a glove.
I have a 2021 spake and I don’t find it difficult at all to adjust and do what I need. I won’t lie I originally bought it because not only did I love the spark esthetic but have found having options for two bottles etc have been a major plus.
I like the hidden shock. I love my 2022 Scott Spark with the hidden shock and lockout. A had to replace my rear lockout cable after a crash (the Scott cables are super thin!) and it wasn't hard at all. The Unplagged looks like it would be a blast on gnarlier trails and great on the climbs as well. Great unbiased video!
a motor for the uphills. Confidence-inducing geo for the downs. shock hidden for low maintenance and minimal tinkering. Sounds like they nailed their target market to me.
No, I don’t take issue with internal shock, especially when it’s as low as in this case as obviously the lower you can place the weight the better. Whether one is a willing participant in the financial requirement for such a look is a different question.
For how much this bike is focused toward gnarly aggressive riders, maybe if you're not in that category just get the bike with less travel: Linkin 150. If you're a racer, this bike looks great.
I don't like the looks at all, but it's not about looks alone with this - The center of mass is way lower with this design and the shock is protected from muck and dirt. Can't deny these advantages
At first I thought it was Scott lumen but then realised it is not ebike so I thought again it is Scott genius but nah! So what is the difference between this bike and Scott genius?
Good God that stem/spacer combo is hideous! Looks like it's had a bee sting and a particularly nasty reaction or something. Think I prefer looking at my cables and Hope stem!
A $10,000 bike won't make you a cycling champion, and buying a Bugatti Chiron won't make you a Schumacher either. Then why buy a bicycle for $10,000? I don't know...
Its really $11,000, and its no lighter than trek's entry level full alloy slash 7, but I'm sure that $11,000 price tag will get you noticed at the local bike park
I think touring the Swiss or Italian Alps isn't the same as touring the Canadian mountains. Never shot your landscapes but certainly ours do not make many wide curves ..I only see your videos and the measurements don't seem similar to me at all
$11,000 us dollars for a 16.3kg enduro bike? what a rip off, that's basically the same weight as an alloy 2021 trek slash 7, modern bikes are getting heavy, crazy expensive, and gimmicky.
I'm not a fan of hidden shocks, internal cable routing, or through the headset cable routing. I want a bike to be easy to work on. I'm also not a fan of proprietary technology or remote lockouts. Pretty much everything about this bike is not for me.
looks like Henry is really thriving in Pinkbike. Well done, man, keep up and good luck!
It’s cos he’s the only actual journalist
@@garybrown5769 is he? I did not know that, thanks.

I commend Bold for providing Henry with such literary inspiration.
_Henry's Inferno_
That reference was brilliant
That was probably the best MTB review I've ever seen. Henry did an awesome job. Cinematography and editing is top notch.
His texts are so sharp and precise. High quality content 👏👏👏
I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS GOING TO INTEREST ME AND I WATCHED THE WHOLE THING AND ENJOYED EVERY MINUTE. THANKS HENRY
What was your favorite part?

Henry has really come into his own and is a masterful presenter. Great overview!

I’ve said it before.. Henry was such a great hire! Well done PB!
Possibly the best video bike review i have ever watched.
Magnificent
It was damn good, for sure!
Henry, your videos are awesome😂🔥🔥
First thing i did was to check if it was a printer add😂
As always love the content!! Cheers mate!🤙🏻
Thanks for an honest review! I really appreciated the cons. I'm so tired of reviews where everything is always amazing!
I'm so happy to find this channel. Best mb content ❤
I’ve enjoyed this video so much. Henry has such a unique way of presenting reviews and videos.
I think Henry should review all bikes like this. He is the man.
Henry is the best thing that happened to pinkbike
great review. honest, to the point without malice and intriguing content. good work
These latest reviews with Henry are like Pinkbike meets Fortnine and it's wonderful!

Amazing production value and great words from Henry Quinney. I think this confirms we will be seeing an internal shock Scott Ransom

Great review. Very artfully done and comprehensive.
Amazingly good review. Respect
just looks like such an intriguing bike and sounds very interesting to ride
Refreshing honesty

Wow that was a honestly brutal feedback.. after finding virtually no reviews on this bike I feel it has not been received as wished

I love Henry!
This guy's voice blends all the words together an before I know it. I can't hear what he's trying to say anymore. Like I just got Hypnotized 😂
I would love to know how easy it is to add some air or dial in my rebound. If the basics were easy, I think that bike looks terrific!
I have a 2022 Scott Spark. To add air or adjust rebound, all you do is remove the frame cover to gain access to the shock.
Love the facetted review
Awesome review 😎💯
Excellent review!

I see what you’re saying but come on, rear shocks aren’t heavy enough to make any kind of noticeable difference
Bike Planet Earth, with Henry Quinney.
Great video👌🤘🏻
Damn, what a great review
I think once I had the sag and air pressure figured out, it would be ok. I kind of like the look but might find it annoying to maintain.
Felt like a more critical evaluation, good job mate
That's because it's designed like one
You have to appreciate a man who coordinates with his water bottle😂
How hot does that air shock get enclosed within that frame? Air shocks main downfall is temperature sensitivity that affects spring rate and damping……
Fantastic content.
For how much this bike is focused toward gnarly aggressive riders, maybe if you're not in that category just get the bike with less travel: Linkin 150. If you're a racer, this bike looks great.
How would the experience change if you size down ?
Sure it will be popular with the show and shine riders.
Sneak peak of the new Scott Ransom
Quality review again from Henry and funny Elon jab!
After listening to the maintenance bit: yeah that will be a no for me dawg.
Kind of surprised that you didn’t just slam the stem and move on from the stack height issue…
I don't like the looks at all, but it's not about looks alone with this - The center of mass is way lower with this design and the shock is protected from muck and dirt. Can't deny these advantages
Internal shock would have been cool if theyve externalized the settings so you dont setup your shock but the frame
Henry wears whole Pinkbike on his back while doing the moonwalk.
I will say this. It's been emotional.
i guess to tune this bike fully to enduro race mode will take some tiime..can it fit coil?
Go read the review ( a coil doesn’t fit)
It looks a lot like the new Scott’s trail bikes line!
@@irfuel thank you. It was quite the news to me.

A $10,000 bike won't make you a cycling champion, and buying a Bugatti Chiron won't make you a Schumacher either.

@@benjy288 Without a store price tag on your bike, is it pointless to go to a bike park?
@@Rust128 Not for me
That bar, stem, spacer combo has to be the most hideous thing Ive seen on a bike excluding the raised reverse stem.
The whole integrated shock thing is pure marketing
I think touring the Swiss or Italian Alps isn't the same as touring the Canadian mountains. Never shot your landscapes but certainly ours do not make many wide curves ..I only see your videos and the measurements don't seem similar to me at all
The only thing that puts me off of bikes is the price, I'm open minded.
Look at the saddle position, the suspension trigger and the "spacer tower construction" 🙈
Internal schick -> never👎
Bold eMTB ititscoming🤔
I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that service procedure (if that is the method) in a shop environment with other staff or customers nearby.
Ironically for a bike named the unplugged, it looks like an ebike with that bulky bb area... Not a look I'd pay for.
Häää? What is your Problem??? Why are you not simpley using the Flight Attendent in your Bold??
Anybody get a “however” count?
Bold Inferno....and not for me. Good content.

So in other words with the rear bias expect plenty of front end washouts
isnt this just basically a SCOTT Genius??

Integrated bars looks so shit on an enduro

It’s to much. I compare this bike to the Cheesecake Factory way to much on the menu. Here’s a tip pick one thing and make it really good
Integrated is complicated... headtube niggtmare intergrarions and that just looks awfull 🙈🦧
