You might want to submit a bug report to the dev's, there was snow on the ground in April but the temperature reached 23 degrees Celsius. The whole month of April was well above freezing. So they may need to look at the temperature behavior on the Arctic maps so that it stays cold until the snow melts.

You might want to consider building 2 technical offices for snow plowing. One near the border to clear the snow of the country highway, and another in the village to clear the snow on the village only (so a real small range). That way the snowplows can specialize in smaller areas and keep the roads clear more consistently.

fun fact, minus 40 degrees is the same temperature in both Celsius and Fahrenheit.

was hypnotizing to see the snowplowers run the same route at the start of the clip, but slow and steady they are building the village atleast :D

I find it interesting that the five people with babies neither die nor flee. We have probably discovered a new oddity in the game mechanics.
To your question about how to deal with inhabited villages on the starting map in order to modernize them:
A while ago I carried out a test by cutting off/deleting all roads and paths that lead outside the existing village - this way you can also build buildings etc. in the given area (within the blue location points) - and the villagers take no notice because they have nowhere to go.
It is of course a bit difficult in widely scattered, larger places to be able to connect all the necessary buildings within walking distance later.
    - Alternatively, you can build outside of blue location points anyway.
    - Or you can forcibly relocate all the residents to other places on the map before the first spade is dug in the village.
    That's my knowledge on this,
    Greetings

I know im really late to the party here. But i think those people were taking care of their babies and couldn't go to work. Thats why they were waiting for the kindergarten to work. I know its soviet russia... but you cant make them abandon their children for work.. you COULD wait till the children are old enough to put them to work. Their tiny hands are useful for working on engines.

I don't mind you being lat to the party, as long as you as you stay. Party Party!!
But yes, people don't go to work without childcare for younglings!

I saw a video by bbaljo where he tested the flat quality to see if the quality really creates a soft cap on citizen happiness, as most have suspected. The result is that the flats do not set a soft cap on citizen happiness. But rather, there is a soft cap on citizen happiness and the quality of the flat moves that cap up or down, but higher quality has more of an effect moving the cap up, than lower quality does moving it down. Even the lowest quality flats can have a citizen happiness of about 70% as long as you can provide them with all their needs.

sadly his test is flawed, he started by giving the villagers everything they needed. so they wouldn't have lost happiness. lest say the quality of the flat is 55% the villager will not lose happiness. but let's say a person has 70% happiness. and we have a power out. or some terrible event that let's say brings the happiness down to 40% he cant get back up over 55%. ill write him after I have gone over the comment section on my channel :P
