- The first in a series of occasional videos, beginning with a look at the life and career of actor Carlos Villarías, best-known for his role in the 1931 Spanish-language version of “Dracula.” Before he turned to cinema acting in 1930, Villarías was a professional singer who appeared in operas, zarzuelas, operettas like “The Desert Song,” in vaudeville, and recorded at least two dozen records.
