In a sea of dense, meek, timid, nerdy, otaku, and other stereotypical mcs, who constantly worship the fmc whilst putting themselves down, this guy stands above as a beacon of normalcy. The girl falling for him no longer feels like wish fullfillment. Personally, my only gripe is the fmc is still the typical tsundere but I guess you can't have it all.
