      I trully won't forget it for sure. That game emssed me uo for 2 weeks everytimes I'd try to explain to my sister why she needs to play the game to get the experience so we can talk about it afterwards I kept sobing into tears of getting real chocked up when talk about it without saying what happened. Just by saying like "this game makes you feel what the character feels and really gets you into the story.
      I talk to her about the ending ad like it ended well-ish and bad-ish but couldn't make my mind which was more prominent in the end good or bad. For 2 weeks straight I was messed up real bad seriously. What a ride that game was seriously.
      There is a lart of me who'd wish I'd forget about it just to be able to relive the experience of the first playthrough. Well that might happen when I let my sister and her boyfriend play the game and I re experience the game through their reactions while playing. But I think the game will broke me again when I get to watch them play the game.

    • @Enogimka
      @Enogimka 4 года назад +8

      @@the80sbiker62 to me the game was perfect for what it wanned to be.
      Like I did nkt expect it to be a happy walk in the Disney atraction park. The Last of Us Part II complements the first game so well. If they would have done a much more similar thing gameplay and story wise to the first game it wouldn't have been worth to play it frommmy point of view. I like story driven games too and it made a good change to not alwaysbuave that super heroid character that simply cannot ever die.
      Also the cool thing about this game that surprised me is how other people dwell over a fictional character's death. I had an uncle who died due to complications after an open heart surgery was the lowest I've ever been and also in denial of it for probably too long.... like my aunt coming to live at our house durint the time my uncle would have been in rehabilitation after the big surgery and all but nah that never happened at the end he died 30 days after the surgery. Like yeah heroic death never happens. When you die it's gonna be misserable what you left behing. My aunt went down a bad spiral thought that screw her mentally I think and her perseptionnon things and all.
      When I've had to mourn someone this gam3 made me realize how much I'm in the denial state of mind when this happens and that's just a complicated state of thoughts to understand. That's why I think this game is the most realistic and mature mentally in a way I guess not everyone manages to understand for what it was.
      Yeah about guilt I went to the hospital my uncle had the surgery at and never was able to get in the hospital to go visite him. Isn't that one of the worst type of guilt? He died after a couple days too just to remind. Like I fucking got upset when we got the call from aunt I think who said they hospital guard thought he won't pass through the night. Not much long after an 1h or less we got a second call and he died due to complications. I lost it for like a little while after that.
      So this game is kind of reminiscent of when you have to dwell but you were too compulsive to make sense of it and just accept it as it was too. Like wasn't the first state of mind after that big even that messed up with a lot of people because they just weren't able to process the thing that just happened and somehow were partially denying what happened in their head... like when Infirst had to mourn a death of someone I knew close if I speak for me I was in that denial state of mind just not accepting what happened.
      If you never fully manage to accept what happened and what you had no control your thought process will destroy you even more just like my aunt who never got over dwelling her husband death after thebooen heart surgery complication.
      This game just seems much more mature then anyother games I've played. But maybe with time you'll get to understand what this game did so well with its story one day. I don't wanna assumed how old you are, or a boy who grew up in a toxic malculity environment as to boys don't cry or feel empaty that easily as it kinda "shows you're weak" and all but maybe get back to this game as if you've never seen the spoilers in the first place.
      And if you can give the story ankther chance if you actually played the game. But I guess it just is a game not everyone can fully wnjoy as is....

    This game has gotten me through so much already. I will never forget my first play through. It’s a game I’d sit down and play late at night, headphones on, just taking in the atmosphere, the character’s and the story.
    It helped me through a lot of days and nights where I needed some escape and relaxation. I remember playing the 3 days of Seattle from Ellie’s side and thinking “wow this game was huge”. Little did I know that I wasn’t even half way done.
    This game is a masterpiece, and I am still in awe on my second play through.
    Thanks Naughty Dog. You were there for me as a kid at 6 years old when I had my first PlayStation playing crash bandicoot, and you’re here for me now at 25. I’ll always be a fan of your company for what you’ve done for me 💙

    When you hear such a tune again and it hits you in your very rotten soul. A nostalgic meaning to why you breathe. And makes you feel like life is meaningful again. This tune may speak to some different. But if you truly have ever felt the deep sense of loss in reality. The numbing sense of nothingness. A void that will never be filled in its entirety. Loss that is experienced firsthand and not through anyone's eyes but yours. Your own loss. No one else's. Your own pain and only yours to carry. A pain that only you will ever feel deep in your very human existence. An unshared experience. A truly gut wrenching emotion that pulls at your being. I believe then, and only then, can you truly feel what Joel meant when he said to ellie "YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT LOSS IS". How those words will resonate in The Last of Us series will affect so much perspective. True Loss is such an unshakable feeling that will haunt you even in reality. TLOU series simply puts loss into individual perspective. So again. If you've truly deep down in your soul. Have not ever felt great sense of loss and tragedy. A loss that has taken a piece of your humanity. Then TLOU series is not worth your effort. You will never comprehend the raw storyline. I pray you never have to feel such emotions. BUT. if you've ever felt such a heavy burden. A weight so harsh. Then i am truly sorry for your pain. And only time can tell of any sort of ease to your weary soul. You don't have to play the series to have that sense. LOSS comes naturally to us humans. In any form. We are all born into this world to feel that unshareable yet similar emotion that, is TRUE LOSS.

    What hit’s me so hard about unbroken is not only the song itself, its that it’s first heard before knowing Joel would die. makes it so much more significant, regardless of what’s to come after the prolog. Used to make me exited to see the game’s new journey, whether we play as Joel, how far they’ve come, and brings back those old thoughts, making me forget about all the distress experienced from then onwards.

I was going through a failed relationship, the failure of connection with my true love and the suicide of a friend. I couldn’t afford this game when it dropped let alone a PS4. When I finally got it though I felt something so deep and so immense. Every character, ever chapter, every word exchanged. I just completed my 11th play though and every time is more somber then the last. Thank you Naughty Dog and every last single person involved in the making of this game. You truly helped a young lost man find his way again.

    I remember playing TLOU 1 in 2013. For about 5 days, I was just encapsulated in its world, playing for hours each day. I had never been so lost in a video game as an adult. The same happened with TLOU 2. But when Joel died, right at the start, I was like - this is never going to be as good, now. But the relationship between Ellie and Dina was just magnificent in how it developed, including the lows. Also, the flashbacks to when Ellie was with Joel - just, wow. And then, the transtiion to Abby, who I initially was very unsure about and disliked, to realising she had more than enough reason to be mad with Joel and Ellie, and in fact probably deserved more sympathy. What a game. Bring on TLOU3.

    god the music evokes such strong feelings. I love gustavo's music so much. He knows how to put the listener into exactly the mood you need to be. I'd even go as far to say that his music was underutilized in the game. I'm in the middle when it comes to my thoughts on the story, but it's undeniable that the graphical and musical achievements are something to idolize. To get this level of graphical quality running stably on near-decade-old hardware is truly impressive, and gustavo's musical ability has certainly not ailed in his older age. I *love* this game for those reasons.

      @@The-Xclusiveeeee I played it the moment it came out, I waited eagerly 7 years for this terrible story. That does not mean I did not enjoy the game, I loved the gameplay, the graphics, animation and pure realism it felt amazing! Hell Joel is death wouldn't have even bothered me as much but the fact I had to play as his killer for half the fuckin game is stupid! Her relationships with her friends, and those asian kids are just SO weak compared to what joel and ellie had in first game, it doesn't come close to character development or bonding. and that stupid cringey sex scene with abby was not it.

    i loved the soundtrack of the 1st game but this one was way better i have enjoyed it a lot. The graphics and game play of the game was so good but is a shame that the way the story played out wasn't that great, I don't mind the death of Joel I understand is part of the plot is just the way they introduced Abby and how they told the story of Ellie it could have been narrated way better. I just think that it would been better if the game started showing us about Ellie and Joel in the actual time in Jackson and then showed us a flashback telling us the important things that happened between them in those 5 years they been living in Jackson, then they should have jump to Abby and introduce her to us as a WLF member and her issues with the seraphites and then in a point in the story they would have come across the group of Joel and Ellie and kill Joel, then we could have seen the Abby flashback and understand her reasons why she did it, that would have shocked us more and it would have made us question more Ellie actions while trying to get her revenge. In the end that would have made us feel more contradicted about the fight between Abby and Ellie and i think that way Abby wouldn't have been hated so much as a character and eh even the ending would have been more bittersweet than it is already.

      yep pacing was bad, the narrating was terrible and worst of all was Abby taking up half the fucking game to show us her interactions with characters WE ALREADY KNOW ELLIE KILLED!! it is a terrible story, and if it wasn't it was told in a terrible way. I am such a huge fan of the first game i didnt want to read leaks and wondered why everyone could be so mad about but now i understand and its totally alright for any hard core fan to be disappointed. the people that say this game was a masterpiece are not true fans of the first game otherwise they would understand that giving plot armor to ellie/abby but killing joel so early in the most pathetic way is NOT alright.

      As a story,it's an examination of the destructive nature of revenge.It's a deconstruction of traditionally videogamey good and evil tropes,fleshing out its characters as nether heroes or villains but simply people pushed into desperate situations.It's a shocking,harrowing,brutal and emotionally draining experience,but also find space for tenderness,mercy,humour,forgiveness and redemption.
      As a videogame,it's utterly peerless in production quality and game design.Every combat enconter is a thrilling and flexible test of strategy,encouraging improvisation and hybrid playstyles.Playing on Survival I breathed a sigh of relief after every victory,winning by the skin of my teeth with only 2 bullets and a quarter of a health bar left.There are very few games that can deliver this level of tension,exhileration and satisfaction.
      This game is many things, and it's a masterpiece.

      @phbf2644 4 года назад +6

      Spoiler alert: If you have not played the game, but intend to do it, please do not read further.
      The game has a deeper meaning that would not be as explicit if told the way you suggested. It all sums up to the fact that the world is more than binary decisions as people are used to thinking. Not all is about good and evil, right or wrong. Reality is much more complex than that. It is about choices and consequences and, ultimately, perspectives. The game mostly develops this by firstly making the player hate Abby and the WLF for killing Joel. In most people's minds, it was wrong because they were simply fond of Ellie and Joel as characters and they assume that Abby is a monster. But during the gameplay, one begins to realize that Abby is not a monster. In fact, she is a great person. She has prejudices but is capable of helping others and changing her mind, just like most people. She just wanted to avenge her father's death, just the same as Ellie for whom Joel was considered a father. Is it wrong? If so, Ellie is also wrong for trying to accomplish the same. The point is that the game brings so much to the table in the form that each person lives in their own universe which is built from their personal experiences. There are no villains, there are simply people making their choices and facing consequences. Morality itself parallels sociocultural evolution. For instance, most countries nowadays do not accept the death penalty, even for criminals. But in some places it is acceptable. Leaving aside religious principles and looking only at the facts, the existence of the death penalty is simply a matter of choices made by people and reflects the relative morality of that society. The same happens in the game when killing other people for territories and protecting resources are completely justifiable actions. IMHO TLOU2 is the best game of this generation, by far. Immersive storytelling, fluid conversations, solid mechanics, amazing graphics, and an outstanding soundtrack. I have yet to find a game that accomplished so much as TLOU2. In addition, from the comments I have seen, many people hate Abby simply because of intolerance, since they think of her as a transexual and/or because they think the game imposes some kind of non-conservative agenda. For those people, the way the story could be told would definitely not matter at all.

    • @B_L4DE
      @B_L4DE 4 года назад

      @Antonio Campanile The thing is. God I don't know how to put this. Just don't take this as offensive in anyway as I really respect the people who enjoy this game and wish I could enjoy it as much as them but like, I feel like the main premise for the story was good like the revenge thing and stuff. But the way they have done this game it just. God I don't know. When I was playing this game it just didn't feel like the last of us for me. I feel like they should have done abby's story first THEN let you play as Ellie. That way we could get involved in her character a little bit more, but they pretty much just shot themselves in the foot by marketing this as "Ellies story." I know they couldn't say that you play as Abby but like. OH MY GOD I DONT KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But what they represent are quite memorable and heart breaking for most.
      The most signable onces are actually the most joyful hopeful ish soundtrack.
      For me I really like the tracks Gustavo Santaolalla composed. They fit in for different purpose in this game I think.
