One complaint: The ending songs on the album, were TOO much like Dark Side of the Moon. They're literally Us and Them, Any Colour You Like, and Eclipse. If I wanted to listen to Dark Side, I'd listen to Floyd instead. Also, this song is the best song on the album imo.
‘Work’ totally sounds like Us and Them, I’ll give ya that. ‘Tepid Soup’ has the same vibe for sure, being a segue instrumental piece, but it has enough merit on its own. ‘Highlights of Your Life’ only ends sort like Eclipse to me.
Personally I think it all stands well enough to be a good, separate creation. It really was a great record, especially for a debut
Work is almost identical to Us and Them. Begins with chatter from the previous track, same tempo, same key, same drum structure. Same chorus/bridge modulation, with the same punch. Cuts itself just like UaT, to give way to a funky instrumental. Kinda interesting to say the least.
