- How's it everybody? Welcome back to the Rocky Fern. In today's episode of 'Show me the Green' we discuss the ever popular Begonia Chlorosticta 'Green' form. Oh Wow! Well I am collecting begonias to beat the band - they are arriving daily...and there are so many that I love - I just got a b. maculata today, and a b. listada. Yesterday I got b. soli-mutata, and I have melanobullata coming along with staudtii, baik, and Zumba! I'm going nuts here!

Do you have any of the other color forms? I acquired one labeled as red form, but it looks exactly like your green. I'm beginning to think the different forms are just results from different personal routines + environments.
I don't know how true to parentage seedlings are either. not enough people talking about these begonias yet
I do have both now and side by side you can see a difference but mainly in the mature leaves. The background is much darker on the red. I’ll look at making a video on both. Then you for watching!
Do you keep this particular begonia in a terrarium? If so, what humidity?
Thank you for watching! I did at first, with parameters being 80-100% humidity and temps of 78-90 degrees. I slowly brought it out to a different vivarium that had parameters of 60-80% humidity and same temp and then to my garage greenhouse which is similar temps but humidity can range from 45%-90% depending on weather. It also gets a ton of air flow compared to the vivariums. Which I think it prefers.
I have one growing under 40 - 50% humidity. Seems like as long as you give the root system time to establish, these can acclimate to lower humidity.
