I honestly thought they were going to a new direction with how the Dark Awakens story mode concluded, possibly Jin having to face his “sins of the past” how he confronts that and a possible conflict against reina and whoever she is working with, this is something I read on some comment which I thought was a brilliant idea. Kazuya having a time to possibly heal himself both physically and psychologically since it was teased Jun was there. However after some rewatching of Tekken 8’s story mode I realized how it incomplete or rushed it feels. So does this mean Heihachi returning was forced? When you look at it in general yes of course it was forced and I really don’t see the point of bringing back heihachi too soon for a story. But I do hope they have a much more better execution for this story mode compared to the first story mode of Tekken 8 cause that one on paper is peak but the execution made it mediocre.

Non-canon Heihachi worked in T5, don’t see why it can't be the case moving forward, I never like the idea of a base roster character coming back next game as DLC or repeat DLC which might be the case with him from now on. The story is secondary to the characters themselves, this is a fighting game and being able to play iconic characters in multiplayer is more important than the story having "realism", stop trying to pretend that the story is anything more than a spectacle to enjoy once for fun. It's just fun to see the characters interact, most of us don't really care what happens so long as it's fun and cool to watch. That being said, we need Jinpachi in T8
