I truly do value everyone having their own belief systems, and if there was no diversity in this world, it would not only be boring.. but we wouldn’t be able to expand our minds. I truly do keep silent with my thoughts, because I know how controversial they can be… but this is something that does actually work for me and I am able to practice at my full potential (for myself). I'm sorry that people project their religious trauma on you. I hold the same beliefs as Ivy, that whatever you believe in, if it brings you joy and comfort and works for you, that's amazing. It's something I want for all people. Life can be very difficult and people should be able to freely embrace whatever brings them joy, as long as it's not harmful. Your spiritual practice is your own and more people need to respect that.
Totally support you, but the Bible is a bunch of hodge podge mashed together by angry sexually frustrated catholic men who wanted control over everyone and wanted a cult and not a faith.... not the mention king James version is awfully written and it doesn't help it was originally written in a dead language. So I wouldn't go off of "what the Bible says"

Ope sorry. I didn't intend to catch you off guard with the EDS question. I forgot you work in healthcare. Where I grew up there really weren't any providers who had experience treating other EDS patients. I moved halfway across the country to go to the Mayo Clinic to find the right doctors. It's still surprises me when I come across healthcare professionals who are knowledgeable on the subject. But that's awesome! The world needs more people like you. I also love mercury retrograde. I write so much. For perspective, I'm a writer and artist and I can always tell when mercury has gone into retrograde because I just start writing. It's like 'huh, I just wrote ten poems in one day, mercury must be in retrograde' and it always is. Whether what I write is actually good or not is a whole other thing.
Same boat here. I was born under a dark moon during mercury retrograde, so when mercury does it’s thing writing and creating seem to just pour out of me. And yeah, whether or not it’s any good, well. The idea is there at least :)

I've just learned that people with ADHD (like me) have an excess of theta waves and a reduced amount of beta waves, which is why it's hard for us to focus and we're kind of operating in this daydreamy world. I've always been able to get into the ritual mindset super fast, without having a super diligent meditative practice, and I wonder if the excess of theta waves actually allows me to do that easily. 🤔 If anyone has some thoughts, feel free to share!
As someone with adhd myself I have to wonder this as well. As having spoken to other witches it feels like they have to go into a specific state via meditation to work magick where as I find it so easily to just do magick without needing to go into a specific state 😂

I would argue you can't be both since the Bible preaches against it , I mean Jesus might not disagree with it so you could probably be a closet Christian witch but any priest or preacher will immediately condemn you. It's just a fact and a lot of us burned because of it
The funny thing about Christian Witchcraft is it has been present in Europe for many centuries and that was the only kind of witchcraft people knew about. Yes it contained elements of animism and polytheism but a whole tradition has been built around God and Saints being helpers. It's sad cause we forget also a part of our history. We get very comfortable about the idea of neo paganism but it's pretty new and it's still in building. 😌

While not a Christian witch myself i can sorta relate to the judgement christian witches face in the community as someone who's path has changed lately to be more Wicca orientated (because hey i realised the strucrure the religion provides is good for helping me wirh my BPD) the amount of times ive seen wiccans judged because of their religion is ridiculous.

15:30 Okay, so I just want to quickly touch on this timestamp here because I have a working theory about this; I work off the theory that dark energy is the energy we tap into to use for magic. It's literally all around us and we're being bombarded with it all the time. I believe humans were born with the ability to tap this magic, and this ability is like a muscle. When we use it, and strengthen it, we're able to "lift" more weight/use more magic/do magic easier. So it stands to reason that not using it can cause it to atrophy.

As a Cosmic Bruja, it does always irritate me that Mercury Retrograde gets so much hate and other Planet Retrogrades get no love and attention. Retrogrades are a time for Rest, Reflection, Refinement, Regrouping, Recharging, Rethinking and Restructuring. Honoring the Planet that is in retrograde and focusing on that Planet’s properties and influence.

Like, we all have different views and experience about death (reincarnation, other planes, nothingness, etc.) but as an occultist or practitionner of any magical craft, I sometimes find that preparing our own death in a magical way is not often discussed. Not simply about how you can calm yourself and make sure you "pass" safely or without regret or anything, but like, what about the last ritual one can do in the moment of one's death ? Do you have rituals or things like that, prepared for this very moment ? What would you do about your servitors, entities you dealed with or worked with, etc.? I feel like the moment of our own death can have so much power in it, be it to bless your descendant, or things like that, even though we can't know how we will die. Much like we can prepare a testament during our life to ensure your body will be treated the way you want and the possession you have too, what about the same thing magically speaking ?Do necromancy changes one's view about that too ?

Doesn’t the 1st commandment say, “ they shall put no gods before me”. I always took that to mean that if we need to connect with certain energies, that we could carve those out, like a piece of pie. Always understanding that the whole is God. My little mind needs to divvy things up into smaller segments to channel it. to connect with it. To commune with the energies. And I’m the same way, I celebrate Christmas and the Christ energy, but I definitely practice the craft. And I hope all of the persecution you received is in your rearview mirror.

For the person who sent in the voice memo about Mercury Retrograde being a less chaotic time in their life - I was born during a Merc retrograde and experience the same thing! I'd heavily suggest taking a look at your birth chart and seeing if you're the same! I have Mercury R in my natal chart and I find Mercury R not to be too bad, I find delays quite normal in my life! There was one Mercury R where my daughter dropped her expensive phone outside her school, and then I drove over it with my car... So, on brand, but affected my daughter in terms of communication frustrations and delays (plus my wallet! 😭)
I just want to comment on what you said at 17:00 regarding noticing more paranormal things ? That can be the case that you start to notice more "magic" around you but I think it's wrong to say that you are going to once you start your magical practice unless you're actually working on the Clairs ofc. I think it's more likely that once you start your practice you gain more control over these things and they become less frequent. For me for example they would happen all the time where I would see apparitions or notice paranormal things but once I started the practice they stopped because I became more balanced and could control it. It's like I can still sense things but only when I open up and I'm not going to be blindsided by something. I think it's important that ppl are aware of this as well

It has my blood and I offer herb and ash leftovers and place charms that relate to whatever ritual I am doing. I see her as a balance of the Divine Mother, Holy Death, and Witch Mother. ... As an aside, I am also a devote of the Medicine Buddha/Amida/Bekandze. I grew up in Jodo Shinshu so it is ancestral, but I also use his Blue Light for sorcery. Blasphemous, but he has relations in name, color, and concept as Lucifer. ... The best thing you can do with your odd path, taboo path, dark path, etc, is just do it. Learn from everyone and everything and play. Eris blessed us with Laughter in Disaster, and it is foolish to do so. So we do it anyway.
The difference between you using the Mary statue and a Christian tho is that you don't ascribe to the Christian world view like a Christian does. So basically you use it for what she means to you personally not what she means within Christian lore like Christian's do. All that to say I don't think you're practicing Christianity I think your practicing witchcraft and I don't even think you're practicing Christian witchcraft and I don't think ppl understand that really well so they call themselves Christian witches
Like ppl think that these things popped off out of Christianity but the fact is that pagans would use Christian iconography to keep practicing their religion undetected by their Christian colonizers. For example in Santeria they would use Mary as a stand in for one of the orishas and etc. That doesn't mean that they started to worship Mary it was just the only way to keep their religions alive. The Irish did it too with the goddess Brigid becoming saint brigid and it's happened in a lot of other cultures

I respect Christian witchcraft as I thought that maybe that was going to be a practice for me. I feel for the person who mentioned their experiences cause I also experience that. But I disagree with God creating deities beneath him, that’s just not what fits me, Hellenic, Norse Deities are gods just like Abrahamic God who was once a pagan deity in Canaanite pantheon and others respectively. It’s a certain belief that I can respect but I wholeheartedly disagree with and that’s fine. I know Zeus and Odin aren’t under direct authority of God that is in a way disrespectful in my opinion. People can disagree with that of course, no hate to the person who left that hot take and I agree Christian witches do not get taken seriously in the witchcraft community.
I mean it seems like just more erasure of paganist beliefs to say that the Christian god created all other dieties that is a monstrous and disgusting thing to say seeing as how so many cultures and basically nature based religious practices were wiped out because of Christianity. As I stated in the memo, I think everyone should be able to believe in what they want. That’s the true beauty of living and learning different paths that fit an individual person. I just wanted to voice a perspective that may seem a little different to others. Everyone has their own thoughts, opinions, and a vast mind. That’s just what goes on in mine. However, I did want to comment because I truly did not mean disrespect to anyone, and I do apologize for that. I was not meaning to “Christianwash” things by any means.. which is why I stay alone in my own craft and do not have any practicing friends (once again, isolating myself because of the backlash a lot of people throw my way). But as someone who has watched Ivy for a long time and saw the opportunity to be able to speak about something, I did want to speak up for once because I always stay silent. The Christian god is very diff From other ppls ideas of god or even of the general idea of the creator that is because he exists within the Christian world view. For example in their belief of an afterlife and heaven, hell, satan, etc. This is another reason why I don't believe you can be a witch and a Christian because to be both you have to exist within the world view of Christianity and witches are condemned in that world view because they view things as either or, either good or evil whereas I feel witches understand that every thing has a shadow and a light side and you cannot have one without the other. So yea with Christianity they believe that only the good side is the right one. Also they don't live for the now they live to win heaven and I feel that that also is opposed to witchcraft as being a witch is all about connecting to nature and living your best life while you are alive
And trust me as a person who was a devout devout Catholic who still misses some aspects of it I know that there is just a clear divide that I've crossed over
And yea this is not a religion but it is a spiritual practice and i think this is why ppl get confused, religions have rules which are imposed on you and witchcraft is all about making your own rules and finding your own path and if that means developing yourself spiritually then that's what it includes for you. But yea, basically witchcraft goes against that because basically as a Christian you are giving away that personal power to its rules that determine what you can get from the universe
The antihchristian stuff definitely comes from religious trauma. It takes a lot of work for me to set aside my personal sqwick about work with saints, catholic ritual, or anything christian adjacent. I don't understand working in a religion that still actively wants to kill us (see evangelical preachers). So I have to recognize my emotional response is that lack of understanding because of my personal traums growing up in the church and to stow that and not bring it to the conversation. It is work on my part, but we shouldn't be taking our trauma out on fellow practitioners.
Yeah, I don't mind Mercury retrogrades so much now that I've been paying attention to them for long enough that I recognize the patterns in them. I find it's just supposed to be a time to slow the hell down. And where the problems come up for people is that yeah, they're trying to just push through and keep rushing when the universe is like "stop rushing."

I work off the theory that dark energy is the energy we tap into to use for magic. It's literally all around us and we're being bombarded with it all the time.
I believe humans were born with the ability to tap this magic, and this ability is like a muscle. When we use it, and strengthen it, we're able to "lift" more weight/use more magic/do magic easier. So it stands to reason that not using it can cause it to atrophy.

I've thought a lot about working with dandelion because of ancestral connection. I don't work much with plants or herbs in general, but it feels more meaningful for me, personally, than being told in a book or online what something is supposed to be used for.

As for the devices, monitoring device should be MUSE, but I have stimulati g device Neorythm. Works great for sleep. It has programs for meditation, relaxation, pain control etc but I have not explored it yet.

Like, we all have different views and experience about death (reincarnation, other planes, nothingness, etc.) but as an occultist or practitionner of any magical craft, I sometimes find that preparing our own death in a magical way is not often discussed. Not simply about how you can calm yourself and make sure you "pass" safely or without regret or anything, but like, what about the last ritual one can do in the moment of one's death ?
Do you have rituals or things like that, prepared for this very moment ? What would you do about your servitors, entities you dealed with or worked with, etc.? I feel like the moment of our own death can have so much power in it, be it to bless your descendant, or things like that, even though we can't know how we will die.
Much like we can prepare a testament during our life to ensure your body will be treated the way you want and the possession you have too, what about the same thing magically speaking ?Do necromancy changes one's view about that too ?

Doesn’t the 1st commandment say, “ they shall put no gods before me”. I always took that to mean that if we need to connect with certain energies, that we could carve those out, like a piece of pie. Always understanding that the whole is God. My little mind needs to divvy things up into smaller segments to channel it. to connect with it. To commune with the energies.

Congrats on 50,000 subscribers! To the person that likes Mercury retrograde, it is likely you are born during a Mercury retrograde. Those born during Mercury retro tend to have a better time during that transit.
For the person who sent in the voice memo about Mercury Retrograde being a less chaotic time in their life - I was born during a Merc retrograde and experience the same thing! I'd heavily suggest taking a look at your birth chart and seeing if you're the same!

I have Mercury R in my natal chart and I find Mercury R not to be too bad, I find delays quite normal in my life! There was one Mercury R where my daughter dropped her expensive phone outside her school, and then I drove over it with my car... So, on brand, but affected my daughter in terms of communication frustrations and delays (plus my wallet! 😭)

I just want to comment on what you said at 17:00 regarding noticing more paranormal things ? That can be the case that you start to notice more "magic" around you but I think it's wrong to say that you are going to once you start your magical practice unless you're actually working on the Clairs ofc. I think it's more likely that once you start your practice you gain more control over these things and they become less frequent. For me for example they would happen all the time where I would see apparitions or notice paranormal things but once I started the practice they stopped because I became more balanced and could control it. It's like I can still sense things but only when I open up and I'm not going to be blindsided by something. I think it's important that ppl are aware of this as well
Christian Witchcraft?!? Kidding. I don't practice Christian Witchcraft per se, but I do have a Mother Mary statue that has become a powerful fetish for my personal work. It has my blood and I offer herb and ash leftovers and place charms that relate to whatever ritual I am doing.
I see her as a balance of the Divine Mother, Holy Death, and Witch Mother.

The difference between you using the Mary statue and a Christian tho is that you don't ascribe to the Christian world view like a Christian does. So basically you use it for what she means to you personally not what she means within Christian lore like Christian's do. All that to say I don't think you're practicing Christianity I think your practicing witchcraft and I don't even think you're practicing Christian witchcraft and I don't think ppl understand that really well so they call themselves Christian witches
Like ppl think that these things popped off out of Christianity but the fact is that pagans would use Christian iconography to keep practicing their religion undetected by their Christian colonizers. For example in Santeria they would use Mary as a stand in for one of the orishas and etc. That doesn't mean that they started to worship Mary it was just the only way to keep their religions alive. The Irish did it too with the goddess Brigid becoming saint brigid and it's happened in a lot of other cultures
I love mercury rx my natal is in rx haha! Its a great time to reflect and i notice my spell work doesnt go badly during it what i notice is the shadow periods of rxs (two weeks before n after) that are my natals are more rough than the retro period itself

I respect Christian witchcraft as I thought that maybe that was going to be a practice for me. I feel for the person who mentioned their experiences cause I also experience that. But I disagree with God creating deities beneath him, that’s just not what fits me, Hellenic, Norse Deities are gods just like Abrahamic God who was once a pagan deity in Canaanite pantheon and others respectively. It’s a certain belief that I can respect but I wholeheartedly disagree with and that’s fine. I know Zeus and Odin aren’t under direct authority of God that is in a way disrespectful in my opinion. Based on some theories, maybe everyone is Christ reincarnated.
The Christian god is very diff From other ppls ideas of god or even of the general idea of the creator that is because he exists within the Christian world view. For example in their belief of an afterlife and heaven, hell, satan, etc. This is another reason why I don't believe you can be a witch and a Christian because to be both you have to exist within the world view of Christianity and witches are condemned in that world view because they view things as either or, either good or evil whereas I feel witches understand that every thing has a shadow and a light side and you cannot have one without the other. So yea with Christianity they believe that only the good side is the right one. Also they don't live for the now they live to win heaven and I feel that that also is opposed to witchcraft as being a witch is all about connecting to nature and living your best life while you are alive
And trust me as a person who was a devout devout Catholic who still misses some aspects of it I know that there is just a clear divide that I've crossed over
And yea this is not a religion but it is a spiritual practice and i think this is why ppl get confused, religions have rules which are imposed on you and witchcraft is all about making your own rules and finding your own path and if that means developing yourself spiritually then that's what it includes for you. But yea, basically witchcraft goes against that because basically as a Christian you are giving away that personal power to its rules that determine what you can get from the universe

The antihchristian stuff definitely comes from religious trauma. It takes a lot of work for me to set aside my personal sqwick about work with saints, catholic ritual, or anything christian adjacent. I don't understand working in a religion that still actively wants to kill us (see evangelical preachers). So I have to recognize my emotional response is that lack of understanding because of my personal traums growing up in the church and to stow that and not bring it to the conversation.
It is work on my part, but we shouldn't be taking our trauma out on fellow practitioners.
Yeah, I don't mind Mercury retrogrades so much now that I've been paying attention to them for long enough that I recognize the patterns in them. I find it's just supposed to be a time to slow the hell down. And where the problems come up for people is that yeah, they're trying to just push through and keep rushing when the universe is like "stop rushing."
