There's another video where he says something about "AI steering." So I assume there's no mechanical linkage between the steering input control, and the front wheel. Which means the steering input can be anything. Could be handlebars, could be a steering wheel, could be a joystick. They probably chose a conventional steering wheel just so cagers wouldn't be intimidated or confused.
All that technology instead of a third wheel? I think Aptera’s approach makes more sense to replace traditional cars. Electric bikes do the job for much less cost, on short distances, given a correct infrastructure is provided (see countries such as the Netherlands)
so... if it needs a kickstand while stationary, what is the point of having gyroscopes if the TORQUE from the wheels self balances once it's moving?????
would not balance at slow speeds without gyros, which is why a motorcycle rider has to put their feet down when stopped at intersections kickstand is so the gyros can stop being powered when the vehicle is in a 'parked' state
