I think one of the best parts about your videos is that you guys don't linger in 1st tier cities (Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen) or even 2nd tier cities. This really sets you apart from other Vloggers. I mean, sure, these big cities are nice. But to experience the real Chinese culture and tradition, small towns, rural villages and 4th tier cities are the best places to go!!!

When I saw you talking about the happy life of the people in the square, it reminded me of an old story: There was a German lady who lost her lover, children, and grandchildren in a traffic accident when she was 60 years old. Everything she cared about disappeared at that moment. She thought about ending her life and visited a psychologist many times. But in a society like Europe, she was destined to spend most of her time in loneliness. She saw the scenery of China while watching a documentary and made a bold attempt to travel to China. When she arrived in China, she saw a lot of beautiful scenery and delicious food, but these did not make her feel much. After all, the pain in her heart could not be healed by delicious food and beautiful scenery. However, when she accidentally came into contact with an ordinary Chinese, her heart was illuminated by the sun again. This Chinese took her to participate in many square activities, square dancing, fitness, mahjong, singing, and she was surrounded by love and kindness every moment. She was being healed every moment. She stayed in China until she died. This German lady smiled before she died. I have been to Europe, and the distance between people makes me feel cold. Although you may have adapted to the lifestyle of not disturbing each other, human civilization should not be like this. Thousands of years ago, the ancient Greeks also sang and praised loudly around torches in the square, and no one felt offended. China's 5,000 years of civilization has continuously taught us to be friendly to others, to live in harmony, and to treat guests from afar and make them feel warm, because we know that you have worked hard enough on the road. A cup of hot tea and a bowl of plain noodles can comfort the hearts of travelers. Welcome to come again next time. The European lifestyle you want to return to the most is what you used to be accustomed to. But you have forgotten

Have you guys asked using translation apps for restaurants to cook vegetarian dishes off menu? I think a lot of places would be accommodating and wouldn’t mind. They have a lot of variety of leafy vegetables, roots, mushrooms and beans. All that fried dough is probably taking a toll😅
Yes, we try that all the time. We have a printed card and also use the translator. Sometimes it works, many time it doesn’t. But we know it’s because us not being able to communicate properly is intimidating, not because they don’t want to ☺️
Actually, it's best for you to visit a print shop and print a few sheets of paper with the text in Chinese: "I am a vegetarian. If this food contains meat, please let me know."(我是素食者,如果这个食物是荤食,请告诉我) Vegetarians are not very common in China, and vendors usually assume you don't have any special dietary preferences.
The best vegetarian restaurants are located in Buddhist monasteries in China, and they are free of charge. You should definitely go and give them a try!

you guys show the clear symptoms of 气血不足, which translates to Qi and blood deficiency. If you want to fix the possible sleeping problems and fatigue, you can try to drink TCM. Most of TCM is vegan and it's used often as supplements in the US
If you are sick, it is better to go to the doctor. Although you do not have medical insurance in China, the price of public hospitals in China is very cheap. "People's hospitals" in various cities are a good choice and their doctors are very professional. If you do not want to go to the hospital, you can choose traditional Chinese massage or sweat steaming will also be much more comfortable.😊😊😊
Fermented bean curd(腐乳), or hairy tofu(毛豆腐), is more like cheese, which you will find in Yunnan. This black Stinky tofu is from Changsha. It is soaked in fermented sauce such as black fermented soybeans and mushrooms ,etc.and then fried. The tofu itself is not fermented.have fun in china.
In China, many restaurants also offer a variety of vegetarian dishes, so you don’t necessarily have to look for vegetarian restaurants. Perhaps you could ask someone nearby to help you write down or record the phrase, “We don’t eat meat, are there any dishes without meat?” Also, I feel like you’re too skinny. If you’re eating only vegetarian food, you should eat more soy products to get enough protein, so your body won’t feel so weak. I really enjoy your videos and look forward to your next one!

Thank you for the tips. We’d love to experience Chinese New Year with a family here but because we were warned about how difficult it can be for foreigners we’ve decided to leave for a few days and come back in the beginning of February ☺️
@@WaleandMe If your visa allows you to stay in China, you must plan your entire trip from January 26th to February 5th and book your air tickets, bus tickets and high-speed rail tickets in advance. There is no need to look for vegetarian restaurants in China, because every restaurant is vegetarian, because the Chinese diet is a combination of meat and vegetables, you just need to say to the restaurant that you only eat vegetarian dishes.
It is harder than that. Restaurants around the world do not understand you don't want meat broth, or fish or fish sauce. (I am trying to say it is not as simple as saying "no meat" and it is not a Chinese only issue. Example, an English speaking Thai restaurant in western US, same problem.)
It's hard to organise similar park activities in Europe, likely face endless noise complaints. But on the flip side, no one seems to do anything about pickpockets. The law tends to protect the dishonest, while it ends up punishing the honest ones.
The biggest problem for foreigners traveling in China is the language, which is not spoken in China except for a few people and some college students. Otherwise, foreigners will have a more in-depth experience in China, because the locals will introduce you to the cultural sources and history.
Businesses, especially small businesses that help local people get jobs can make society better. The worst are the huge exploitative businesses dominated by financiers bankers.
11:22 It's probably not a good idea to find a pure vegetarian restaurant in China, which is quite hard and might cost you much extra time. Just walk in any restaurant that looks fine to you, and show them in Chinese "I'm a vegetarian, would you please recommend some vegetarian dishes for me? 我吃素,请问有什么素菜推荐吗?" Tell them your preference, such as you don't eat egg or milk, and they would like to help.
