Literally a week before things started shutting down in America in 2020, I was out in Denver to see "Murder By Death", and amigo the devil was their opener. Now I had heard a few of his songs before. But he gave a monologue before he played this song about how he handles depression. I'm paraphrasing but he said something to the effect of "I stopped fighting it because it's an endless fight, and I started holding its hand and letting it hang out with me" that changed my life, and then he played this tune and I was just floored.
That truly was heavy. I realized at a young age that I’m the kind that wears my heart on my sleeve. It’s so difficult to not show my emotions. Music, always gets to me. Most times I am ok, but well-written or well-delivered lyrics get me. This was both. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I love when people react to Danny, and get this exact type of reaction. From both of you. Silence. Feeling. Raw emotion. Danny has saved my life, many times. He is also the sweetest man you will ever meet. And he gives the best hugs you’ll ever have. May I suggest Fighting Like Hell to be Free by Lost Dog Street Band? That is another band that means the world to me. The song I suggested is more upbeat and fun, and another raw, powerful song.
Danny/Amigo the Devil is a true Artist. Musicians come and go… few are Artists. I’ve seen some true LEGENDS in concert. Danny’s live show was among the MOST FUN IVE EVER HAD at a concert. Truly unique vibe. He’s hilarious and heartfelt and raw. A wordsmith… he could teach a master class in lyricism. (If such a thing could be taught). Amazing amazing Artist. Seeing your tears… and the connection to this relatively obscure song: SUBSCRIBED!
Well that was unexpected and so good. Like you, Ginger, I also thought it reminded me of someone else, except for me it was Johnny Cash. Not entirely but every now and again, I could hear Johnny singing that. ❤️🤘🎸🎻🇦🇺
Great song, I had never heard of this guy and will definitely check out more. Thinking about other songs with "Abel" in the title, check out Josh Kelley "Cain and Abel".
I personally try to avoid comparing artists, because I feel like it takes away from the individualism of the artist, but I hear the White Buffalo influence.
Hey Mike & Ginger.... new to your channel. Took a peek at your play list and saw that about a yr ago you did a reaction to Home Free Man of constant sorrow tho that is a good song It really does not showcase Austin Brown's vocal talents. They do a cover of Percy Sledge's when a man loves a woman. I showed the vid to my wife and I have not seen her since, she is on mission to find Mr. Brown. It really is that good. Austin and a guitar accomplice does a cover of Unchained Melody, that is also tremendous to say the least. To find it just look up Austin Brown- Unchained Melody. Good luck with your channel.
This song meant a lot to me but after I failed my little brother and he was killed, it took on a whole new meaning. I cry every time I hear it but the catharsis is necessary.
New sub, you guys are great. If you dig this, please check out some Dax Riggs... Say Goodnight to the World, Stop I'm Already Dead, or Night is the Notion.
So glad to see people reacting to Danny. He is criminally underrated.
See him live if you haven’t
@@eugenecaudill5361 AGREED! I got to see him open for Murder by Death and it was basically a religious experience.

I second the Lost Dog Street Band suggestion
Cuts me like scissors ✂️✂️✂️
My favorite song by him, so glad he's getting more recognition that he deserves. The sweetest and most down to earth artist I have ever met.
He does not have a single bad song - very diverse in styles but all great

When someone says "everything is fine" it means they're hurting.
Always a go to for when I need the feels.
Definitely check out Your Heart is a Muscle the Size of Your Fist by Ramshackle Glory
I first heard this song in a dream as it played on random when i was sleeping. I have to admit it was life changing
Awesome. Happy to make recommendations on more Amigo. Thank you.
