10 Minutes of 250cc Inline Four Screaming [Kawasaki ZX25R Pure Audio]

  • Kawasaki's 250cc inline four screaming through rural roads. Had better luck with the audio in this clip, also nice to let the ZX25R sing. Although having occasional periods where you chose not to open it up adds to even more fun when you do.
    This clip starts after riding 160km to the national park, having my exhaust tested and being denied entry. I decided to ride around the park to the north entrance to check if I could get in there. It wouldn't be too bad if I couldn't enter, as the roads on the north edge are nice. In the end, after another 100km to the north gate, they performed the same test on my exhaust and let me in - interesting.

    • @Kumyar
      @Kumyar Год назад

      People comparing car accelerarion to motorcycle acceleration are so wierd.
      Yes a bike will be faster then most of the cars you come across on the street.
      If we take this bike and Europe for example; where a typicall car is a 2.0 diesel making 150hp and 320Nm of torque. This is usually a Golf so lets take a Golf 7 for its weight. ~1354kg. All this gives it a power to weight ratio of 0.1108hp/kg
      This Kawasaki makes 51hp and 23Nm of torque while having a weight of 182kg; all this gives it a power to weight ratio of 0.28 hp/kg(without a rider)
      That is more then double the hp/kg this Zx-25R gets
      Taking in the riders weight of 80kg in equation; 0.1947. still more then a car without a driver.
      The bike will almost always win.
      In order for a car to win in hp/kg race, it needs ~400hp (Both without drivers/riders). You dont see many cars in your daily commute with such performance numbers.
      People oight to stop comparing apples to display fruit.

      Feb 1st is the Grand Reveal! The teaser shots show a small sportbike under a cover with the same wheels as this and Ninja 400! I believe the ZX4r will be the 'Goldilocks' for small displacement 4cyl power and screaming RPMs. From what I've heard, the ZX4r engine is based on the 25r engine, punched out to just under 400cc's. I guestimate around 70+hp compared to 25r 45-50hp, and much needed torque boost. I hope it revs as high, but probably be a tad less. I don't think it'll compete against Kawi's own Ninja 400, as that's more of a budget, higher torque, lower HP beginner sportbike. I imagine the ZX4r to get to 60 in approx 3.2sec, and cost somewhere around $8k US, hopefully less!? Downsides compared to Ninja 400 (parallel-twin) will be less low-end torque, worse MPG, higher price, higher weight. Upsides are everything else- much higher horsepower, awesome screaming redline, smoother, performance suspension and brakes, Ram-air, different drive modes, more tech- if your into that thing. Likely my next bike!

    A lot of people don't realize that inline-four 250's aren't a new idea. The Japanese made them in the 80's and 90's for their domestic market. @@zx-25rjourney76 The most solid evidence is still the patents which show the ZX-25R aerodynamics were developed for a 400cc bike. Very recently Young Machine Magazine reportedly saw it being tested on Japanese roads with an updated upper fairing and a larger exhaust. Kawasaki is also developing a ZX-7R. I’ve heard completely unrelated reports that they they will drop the ZX-6R for the next model year, which makes sense because it leaves more room for a ZX-4R.
      This will help differentiate them from their competition too. Currently, anyone who wants a 600cc-class supersport bike can chose between Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, which doesn’t leave much market share for Kawasaki. If they discontinue the ZX-6R and introduce ZX-4R and ZX-7R, then anyone who wants a little more or a little less than the competition will choose Kawasaki.
      This also works at the high end: Anyone wanting a bit less than a literbike but a bit more than the 600cc bikes can get the ZX-7R. Anyone wanting a bit more than a literbike can get a supercharged Kawasaki H2. ;)
      If this really is the plan, I think it’s a smart move even though I’d be happy with a more affordable ZX-25R.

      But who's having more fun, the all sounds but no go biker or the no sounds no go biker (because you can never make use of anything over 100hp legally and in a common sense level safe way on the streets)?
      I'd take the zx25r over any 600 or 1000cc bike any day of the week. I''m even mentally debating if I'd take the 25 over the zx4r which is suppsoed to come out soon because it's got ~80hp which are also borderline unuseable.
      My cb500f does 90kmh in second. Ripping through 1st is debateable fun because of the gear ratio, but you could rip 2nd fully shift to third and would technically be "illegal", half legal would be ripping 3rd too. But 4, 5 and 6 are unusable. Sure I could go on the Autobahn, but what's the fun riding in a straight line?

    • @anantakashkhalkho3017
      @anantakashkhalkho3017 Год назад

      This bike is no more stock, it has akrapovic full system exhaust in it which is in the costlier side...
      KTM RC AND DUKE[390] series is also good for fun,race tracks and leisure ridings.
      Mileage,speed,traffic rules depends on which country or state you live in.

    • @Daniel-dj7fh
      @Daniel-dj7fh Год назад

      @@anantakashkhalkho3017
      The Akrapovic pipe does nothing but add cost and maybe abit sound without a tune.
      Sure you could get an rc390, but that's 3 cylinders away from being in inline4. Not saying you can't have fun with those tho, it's just that this one has a very special configuration.
      Most countries limit town speeds to 30-50kmh, backroads 50-100kmh, and highway 100-140kmh (yes even on the Autobahn, here even 80kmh sometimes believe it or not). And considering the general speed limits, being able to half wring out the gears whilst not going 100+kmh in first gear after 3-5s is quite nice.

      I checked the process and did the math to import this bike to N.America...it is possible.
      But it will end up costing the same as a brand new ZX6R. That's tough. Kind of defeats the entire purpose.
      The JDM Skyline GTRs and Supra Turbos were known as supercars killers whilst costing less than 1/3rd the price of a supercar: that was the whole allure; yet now in many cases those old jdm cars are more expensive than the supercars themselves. Defeats the point.
