Things I Learned in NYC...

- Here's what I learned living in New York City.
1. That if you make eye contact with a gay man-you better have douched because he sure as hell is going to follow your ass home.
2. Man cannot live in bread alone-but he can live on 5 dollar foot longs!
3. I think it's so much easier to be lonely in a city so full of people-no one says hi when passing on the street and people generally avoid interaction as much as possible. You can have a subway full of people, and no one is saying a word.
4. The best places in NYC aren't in a guidebook.
5. You don't know heat unless you spend a summer in this city. I haven't sweat this much in my entire life.
6. I love people-but I don't necessarily like people, especially in huge quantities like NYC. I like my space.
7. You can't see it all.

I lived in Manhattan. I found this video interesting for a couple of reasons. I agree with a lot. Guys ARE much more forward. I wasn't in a club more than 5 minutes when guys were getting "touchy feely" - VERY forward. (I liked that.) I've lived all over the US & FL was the worst for heat. It DOES get hot in NYC but not for WEEKS - & not with FL humidity. Also, you will NEVER find the best places to visit in ANY directory & you will never....EVER "see it all"! NYC is a BLAST... but PRICEY!
There are so many Mom and Pop places where you can get a meal for under 5 buck. Shame on you.
You can't do it all, but that's just a reason to come back.
NYC loves you
P.S. What kind of camera do you use?
No one gives credit to NY. There are so many nice places! People only give bad comments because they only go to the city! The city is a piece of crap we now. Go to places like Long Island that's the only good places! We have nice beaches, hot summers, and many things to do! We barely get hit hard with hurricanes except sandy. But go to places like Montawk, Oceanside, long beach, Jones beach, point lookout, and look they are all in NY! And if you agree they don't give credit to NY like this.
I live in Miami and if you don't live by the beach where there is breeze then it gets pretty hot it may not be in the 100s but when its in the 90s the "Feels Like" Temperature is in the 100s. An combined with the humidity and the fact that Miami only has two seasons (Rainy and Dry) it can be quite unbearable at times, especially during the rainy season.
You need to come to the west coast!! And you must not have ever been to palm springs in the summer! It gets so hot that peoples ACs breakdown and you are either stuck outside in the sun and blistering heat, or inside in the blistering eat sweating like a donkey!!!
But you have to come out here and enjoy the beautiful scenery!
You are dam right about the subway LOL..once you get down there its like an oven and your body will just sweat non stop..you will have sweat the size of rain drops rolling down your face..but once the train comes...oh man the coolness
I'm really looking forward to the tree house Davey! oh and it might and you can still be using your mind to move that camera.... just the one you use when you see Zac Efron or ice skating booty lol
I so get number 3, I live in the Caribbean in an island where Chinese make up less than 2% of the population out of about 1mil people. Im pretty use to being the only Chinese person in some places I go and when I went to NY I felt so inconsequential :P. I nearly forgot that was like over 1billion of us out there...
no, miami is the worst. it gets like 100 degress plus the added humidity makes everything heavier. and if your not by the beach, you would die.
Wow, love the definition! "It's not my mind so much as it's my penis." ;) Hahaha. Same thing. . . if you think with your dick! I agree with you that New York is over-whelming, people-wise. I lived in Madrid, and it was lovely (3 million people). New York is just too much (8 million people)!
Hey, you think the subway heat is bad now. You should have lived here in the 80's. A real New Yorker will tell you that while some stations are bad it has improved immensely. I can't imagine what it was like before the 80's but then again when I went to public school in NYC the AC was a big fan. LOL
I honestly think that anywhere you go the best places are never in any book. I live in Hawaii and I do work with tourist and it's like every place they say their going I just think there are better things to do. Like you said how Time Squar is nice but there is more.
if you think that in New York City you fell the heat, you should definetly come to Cyrpus in the summer where the heat is HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH above.... Last summer the lowest was 113 degrees.... Come pay us a visit and you'll understand.... :p
I'm glad you enjoyed your time in nyc but i'm ready to get the hell out. It's great in the summer but the rest of the year it's too damn cold...i'd rather be in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale, or SanFran - gay cities!
Yeah, i really like this travelling davey wavey. I like hearing what you think about all these places. I would have loved to have seen actual footage of the special off the beaten path places too...
Oh, so you travel a lot. I thought you had moved there for good.
Darn, if I knew that I would have asked if it was ok to drive over and say hi.
oh well, have fun on your next adventure, Dvaey :)
if you hate not having space, you definintely shouldn't go to tokyo bcuz there would be a person per square foot! xD
I really liked what you learned. I thought it was quite good. I liked you took something away from the experience.
HAH! NYC may be hot, but its nothing compared to the Sahara. I went on a hike in the Sahara when it was 120 F brotha. THATS HOT. The adventure is pretty much over in three seconds.
@sasukesama122 no boo come to nyc i visit fl ever summer u guys have dry air our air is wet and nasty and sticky lmao plus all the tall buildings make it hard for air to get around.
NYC heat? Try 47 degrees celsius in the middle to the Australian goldfields. That my friend is the truest definition of totally unbearable, all encompassing, inescapable, heat
south pasadena is a place where you can look out your window and literally see no one but huge houses.... but one downside, in the summer, it gets past 110 degrees... :(
I actually live in the desert of Arizona. Trust me, whatever heat you've had, Arizona's heat is hotter. On a normal summer day it' 105 on a nice day to 117 on a bad day.
my god i know what you mean about the heat! i was in new york last week and that heat wave was.. ridiculous. 98 and humid?!?! i have never sweat so much in my liiife
That first one is really scary. I haven't been to NYC since I was a child and I had planned a trip up there next summer and I'm a little apprehensive now.lol
@sasukesama122 you dont know heat till u live in Austraila during summer is it 45C or 113 for all the americans out there and that is all summer long
omg so true about the heat omg i live in lower east side all the dam tall buildings are here so we get no air lmao thats why we have ac
These videos are awesome and always wind up making me smile. You have such a unique and interesting way of interacting with the world.

U should come to Los Angeles sometime!... its been a very cool and relaxing summer... much much colder than last yr.
So, did you make eye contact with a guy and go to his place? Or, did he come to yours? How do you know this then?
Hey I live in Australia. We get 113-118 summers over here. Anyway! Seems like you LOVED it! Which is great! ^_^
Would you suggest living in NYC? It's between there or LA for me...suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!
u obviously have never been to arizona... even when it rains in the summer, the water just kinda burns
I wonder if you met my friend Ashley we call her ATT shes really cool! Lol Shes also a Lesbian! Js
NYC is so overrated. I'm from there, and don't miss it. That summer heat there is disgusting.
Re: #5 - It usually isn't this hot... The last time it was, Bill Clinton was still president!
