Oh man, Amos is incredible at his craft. The tone is wonderful. His technique is unmatched. Definitely my main inspiration for getting into playing bass after a lifetime of drums professionally. Everything they do is such a treat but, War of Being is an absolute game changer and has really set the bar. The composition of the songs are incredible. Wonderful listen every time. So grateful to take what I've learned from him into the rest of my time on this planet. All I need to do now is get some of his coffee to really channel my inner Amos when I play haha.
You have got to be kidding, this was literally made for me. I love seeing Amos play, I've always wanted to see him use a Dingwall, and this is my fav song on the album. Perhaps there is a god after all...
another Dingwall Sig bass, 4 string, strung like the bottom 4 of a 5 string. Good choice of those SFII(super Fattys II) pickups. Punchy, Deep, and articulate. Just listen to those low-string bombs. Killer tune and playing as well.
Thank you for this Amos. Looking past the obvious praise for your musicianship, the way you film and present the playthrough is so damn good it needs mentioning.
Love to see another bass playthrough! The precision and attention to detail on the bends and the verse section is incredible- but man I can't believe this comes out like 3 days after I submit my music coursework where I covered this song lmao 😭now they definitely have an original to compare my technique to when I'm getting marked-
Missed these bass playthroughs! Neve electronics really extract cool tone out of Dingwall! Outstanding gear, outstanding playing - simply amazing as always!
I played bass for the last 20 years now... Mos is my all time favorite bass player when it comes to metal genres/subgenres. I mean the creativity, the tone, the dude's class!
Sheezus that bass punches through and sounds killer even over my Macbook Pro speakers. The thickness and clarity are amazing, and props for not being Generic Darkglass Dingwall Prog Metal tone.
That hybrid picking sections in the verses are so cool. And I've always loved the massive tone Amos always has, fits so well in the mix of the band. This sounds like a Dingwall but also like a Tesseract bass tone, not like how so many other bassists seem to have the same grindy Dingwall tone
The combination of using a pick and 'popping' with the middle finger is pretty cool and looking quite difficult. I like to cover songs by Tesseract but this scares me haha. Nice mug btw.
im a big dingwall fan. they make great basses. tesseract has such a unique sound and its really cool to see how he's playing his parts because its difficult for me to differentiate between the instruments just by ear. its very cool. thank you for posting it!im a big dingwall fan. they make great basses, especially for rock but for any style.
Great playthrough, and I like the subtle sounds in the subtle section you get with a pick. IIRC this is one of the few times a pick has come out over the course of Tesseract's history, is it not? Definitely a sound difference.
When the bassist hybrid picks, you know you're djenting.
Now THIS is podracing!
It's not that diffucult honestly. Thumping on the other hand is a other story! Getting close!
@@SoulSideSevensounds like you gotta try the intro to Cliffs of Dover on guitar!
The bass groove in this song is IMMACULATE.
that right hand technique is insane
Amos is the only bass player in the world where I genuinely believe his tone comes from his hands.
The bass is infact holding amos, and he is plugged into the amp
Wdym Amos IS the bass. He only has a guitar in his hands otherwise his power would be far too ungodly.
Ryan Martinie entered the chat.
@@robdubentand Les Claypool is right behind him.
This is a very factual statement. Steve Vai said during an interview that our hands massively influence tone in stringed instruments.
This tone is the meaning of life
That bass tone tickles my brain in ways unimaginable

Excellent sounding cutting board right there
Thanks to the chef
It's a good day when I get to hear Mos' bass tone
The hybrid picking section is madness !! Love it
amazing tone and technique

You're witnessing him on this video 😉
Seriously I know there are classic and amazing Tesseract songs, but this has to be one of my favorites of all time. Lyrics really speak to me.
Wait, he has a signature Dingwall?? That is awesome and well-deserved!
Best modern bassist going 😍
Amos is the James Bond of bass
My favorite bassist of all time. You're incredibly talented.
That's fantastic, but the cat mug absolutely stole the show.
My goodness! You listen to TesseracT too! Love your work!
@@PotatoWagon Oh, thank you!
That tone has punch and an airy warmth like there are also piezo pickups. Blessings to you, TesseracT. Thanks for such amazing artistry.
Perfect cardio, perfect form, perfect hair

I insist, Amos is like a god
Wrong. Mos IS a god.
So sick… My favourite bassist

That bend is hypnotic!

Cool hybrid picking technique! Never seen that from a bassist 👍
Check out Polyfia and Unprocessed bassists !!
HOLY MOTHER OF BASS THAT TONE

Man, was missing Amos' playing so badly. Had to break out the Moondrop Starfields for this one.
Missed these bass playthroughs! Neve electronics really extract cool tone out of Dingwall! Outstanding gear, outstanding playing - simply amazing as always!
Hot damn, that verse riff is so understated but badass. Lots going on there.
As always, killer lines, killer playing, killer tone and killer bass!
I've already replayed this an unhealthy number of times.

Amos and Dingwall, what a match made in heaven. Sounds fucking killer man.
That Dingwall sounds SO HUGE
That bass is so damn beautiful 😍🫶🏼🖤
Well godamn that bass sounds good; depth, clarity, and texturally dynamic
soooo rich, sinister in all the right places too
Incredible clarity in that Dingwall. Love it.
Mesmerizing
That custom Dingwall is wild! Amazing job as always Amos 💚
my favorite bassist and never disappoints. What a legend
How I missed these playthroughs!
I have been waiting for this!!!!!! Thank you ❤
Damn that bass tone IS THICC
Unbelievable tone! We need a video on this bass, would love to hear the story!

Finally! The Master himself! ❤❤❤
The kitty mug ❤
Cats are cool indeed!!!
My favorite song from this album

The guy from Polyphia does that for years I think
@@francoishtzl157Yep, Clay Gober. He's a beast.
@@francoishtzl157 Yeah I saw that in the video clip of Antecedent by The Omnific. It's very cool.
Oh my! You are such an incredible player.
Watching this live was mind blowing. jay and amos .what a percussive force 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Maestro Mos doing what he does best. (also yes im commenting again so this gets recommended to more people)
impeccable performance and amazing sense of rhythm, not to mention amazing tone
Everything about this is literally perfect. This guy is way too good
the precision
Sharp bass, love the Dingwallish 3 stacked pickups
Insane tone and so specifically his as well, amazing!
Graceful playing
So good.
those open string notes sounds MASSIVE.
that tone man
So satisfying to watch , especially the bends and that picking in the verse 🙌
Beatiful stuff. I've always enjoyed the sound of a Dingwall bass.
"Cats are cool". Indeed they are.
Ahh Hugh Grant never fails to impress me
Ahhh yeah..This is the tone you get when ya know what your doing!..Niiiice!:)

@John-tx3cu Indeed! Haha
Awesome
Did Amos go back in time? I feel like I'm in 2014 again
Wonder if he's wearing shoes or not
the dogs are always out this isn't a hard question
Mr Williams you are one beast of a human

Never knew Hugh Grant played bass for TesseracT
Hero!
