I do not stitch in the ditch when seams are open. Stitch in the ditch for me gives my piecing definition, when seams are pressed open you are essentially stitching on the piecing thread, batting and backing which doesn't give the same definition. I would do 1/4" echoing on piecing that have seams pressed open. Hope that helps

@@lisahcalle thak you for your advice. I quilt close to the seam with a distance of 1 mm, so I give it some definition, but it is very tedious.
