    When tetrad is formed, itz is covered by callose. The megaspore towards Chalazal end becomes functional and forms embryo sac. Besides linear tetrad, other tetrads are The shaped, tetraherdral and inverted T type...

    Mam I think the cells near to the megaspore situated towards Chalazal end remains functional while the remaining three megaspores gradually degenerate and finally disappears

    Mam chalazal end of the megaspore is functional...but you said micropyle end.

      Generally Chalazal end megaspore is functional in polygonum. Micropyler end mc is functional in onagraceae

      in polygonum type of embryo sac, the 3 cells of the microspore tetrad towards the micropyle end degenerate and one one megaspore at the chalazal end persists...!

    I like her personally because bio ma'am of my school looks exactly the same exactly and even her teaching and way of explaining are also similar... Sometimes I think she might be the teacher of my school bio madam and surprisingly their names are also similar (not same but to an extant)...     Mam..is it possible to have disporic embryosac?? In every case three degenerate and only one remains which further develops as embryosac...so? And if yes is the same 8 nucleated and 7 celled embryosac forms or any variations found??

      Actually there are different types of embryo sac. In some cases, the chalazal megaspore is funtional and in some cases the micropyle megaspore is funtional.

    Chalazal megaspore is functional , because it takes nutrition from the chalazal part..

    Mam megaspore also has isobilateral.. Decusate, perpendicular, T shaped arrangement not only linear... But commonly seen arrangement is linear 🙁

    Out of 4 Megaspores the megaspore at chalazal end survive because it get nutrition from chalaza.And other are devoid of that.

    Mam i have a doubt..... Is the degeneration of the three cells which form the tetrad are present at the chalazal end or at the micropylar end..... Bcz in books it is written as the cells present near the chalazal is survived and other three towards the mycropylar end are degenerated.

    Mam please clear the number of cells...in the embryosac...as u said...3 micropylar end+ 3 chalazal end+ the bigger one that contain all 6 cells...
    The bigger one is not the 7th cell...the two polar nuclei in one cell form 7th cell...
    I refered so many books..after watching your video...but everywhere 7th cell is the centre one containing two polar nuclei...
    Maam Please clear this doubt..

      yupp u r right..................but it can degenerate from either the chalazal side or micropylar side...........it depends upon the species.................from both the sides the megaspores could be functional..............................
