NEW Shadowlands Aeonaxx Guide, containing all the wild changes Blizzard made to him recently. I hope this guide makes things easier for folks looking to get him during these last few months of BFA going into SDL ^^

It taught me all you need to know to find aeonaxx and I got it after 8 hours and 19 min of camping in Chromie time on an rp realm. Maybe this video is truly magical. I watched it and got it a few hours later! I feel like this is more of a make-your-rounds kinda farm than its about camping. I logged an alt on an RP server and just went through all the different phases (chromie wm/off, normal wm/off) and there he was just flying around the pillar, minding his own business. Was down in a few hits, but not sure how the fight goes if youre in Chromie time - if you can take him with good gear and the right class or no. I made a blood dk for this particular reason but never got to try it out. Good luck to anyone still trying for this though, and thanks for this guide.

was farming this mount on gurubashi and draenor on 2 accounts wm on/off for a while, unsuccessfully. finally made class trials on rp server the scryers and found aeonaxx at 4am wm on just circling around a pillar and invited my other account to party, killed and looted him. the next night same thing, wm off this time and same situation, flying around another area, invited my other account to party and looted him again. thank you so much for this video. if not for you my son and i still wouldnt have this beautiful mount!
Awesome! Using this guide I rolled DH in an RP realm and used WM on, and there it was. Boom!

Crazy good guide. I had a feeling some of these rare finding addons were a bit inaccurate with spawn locations (and your video proves that)
Got him and the TLPD back in the day when we could use an addon to skip to other realms. I hopped to a Russian realm, and there he was, waiting for me!

the stone drakes are one of the best models. i still remember the day I got this. WOW gave me 3 day pass since I quit a few years ago and I came and got the sha of anger mount and then this. almost resubbed because I missed mount collecting so much.

I don’t know why I’m watching your rare mount guides if I already got them. But I like your vids. Just watched the TLPD guide (got it almost year ago), now watching this one (got Aeonaxx mount last month), after this gonna watch the Voidtalon guide (caught him about three months ago). Something wrong with me, but I am sure that if something about them will change in the future and you or someone else will create another guide, I will watch it too, even though I don’t need to camp them anymore. Feels like I am obsessed with a hunt itself, not the mounts. I’m still finding myself in Shadowmoon Valley sometimes, looking for portals.

Update I located the dragon using chromie time and didn’t realize he registered as a raid boss. He will absolutely destroy you at least at level 40
Got the drake today on a low pop RP server. Don’t be like me and wait forever to level a toon on one for rare mounts. Definitely the way to go.

it is worth saying, Silverdragon automatically detects bloodseeker. confirmed it on 2 blood seekers yesterday

I got it back in WoD when we could use an addon to hop servers. I was just clicking and hopping to Italian, Russian, Polish servers and 5 minutes into it there he was waiting for me 😁
Hm, I wonder if anything else has changed. I camped him for 9 hours yesterday, flying around periodically, waiting. And nothing happened... 9 hours... My friend stumbled upon him randomly after I told them about it. I have never been more angry lol
It's very easy to miss the bat if you're solo camping, and the bat is 90% more likely to spawn than he is.

@@crazejen727 it's pretty much impossible to see him unless you're right on top of all of the spawn points with a target macro, he will literally vanish in 15 seconds haha

sooo i just started trying to find him today, have a macro for target, is there a certain time where he can show up on server time? after Tuesdays when servers go down for maintenance? I'm flying around in the areas you labeled. just curios should i stay here and just target every 5 seconds? lol I'm a spriest id love to get this mount lol, so thank you for the video and feedback if your able to help, also did sub for you :) thanks for the content
Sorry for the late reply here, but for Aeonaxx there is no "certain" time that he'll show up. The only certainty after servers come up from a reset is that Aeonaxx or Blood Seeker will spawn in the next 2 to 8 hours, aka there is a 100% chance that you will never see either of them before that 2 hour starting point :) I personally have never camped him, I will instead have multiple characters on multiple realms and hop thru them after doing a lap around the temple on one character. Good luck on your hunt!
is he optainable in Chromie Time ? lets say you make Wotlk Chromie, can he spawn then aswell ? Great Guide btw :o
He can, and all Chromie Time modes are the same! Regardless of whether its WOTLK or Draenor, Chromie Time is the same instance. However, Chromie Time Aeo's hit super hard and can't be solo'd easily unless you have a pet that can tank. Invite friends to come help you out if you spot him :D

I found and watched this video pretty randomly and i'm surprised that Blizzard goes back to change old stuff like that.
Since when Aeonaxx is an hostile mob? It used to be a friendly npc you had to defeat after mounting it without being overwhelmed by whelps.
I got him back when it was the whelp fight on his back, but it's been this way since at least December 11th of 2018
The 2 times ive seen Aeonaxx he fell inside the pillars to not be able to loot 😢😭😭💔
Is it still true that world rare spawns timers are only active while there are players present in the zone or is the timer always running?

So Aeonaxx or bat cant spawn right after a server reset right? But after 2 hours after server reset there is a 100% chance of either Aeonaxx or bat spawning to a maximum of 8hours, did i get it right? just making sure so i dont waist any time. Thank you in advance :D
Yup you got it! After the first two hours post-reset, Aeonaxx or the bat can spawn anytime in the next 6 hours after that.
Do these new spawns apply to classic as well ?

I think he can be tough, but if you use any pets, I think he barely hurts them. Otherwise you can probably list a group in LFG and folks will come flocking!

Great videos! Question: I'm helping the wife obtain this after I did since Cataclysm. Is it CERTAIN that taunting will loot lock it from someone else killing it after I get taunt and get hit by him?
Absolutely certain! Play it safe by just using your body to pull him, and using no abilities. Best of luck!
I mean I got this mount uhhh.. like two months ago sitting at stone core with a group on twisting nether for three straight days but these improvements are actually good for future group farmers.
Imagine if you and your group were sitting there for three days straight while some random jerk held your Aeonaxx out of bounds until a sale arrived! Because that's what was happening NON STOP until these changes happened xD
I specifically picked a roleplay server to camp the mount with a group and we didn’t see anyone for three days aside our group. Okay maybe two or three people going “Ah fuck they are camping screw this.” And leave, alas this was a pretty interesting change and is pretty effective. I server hop a lot so I do understand some people will sell Mounts for gold while holding the Rare mobs like Aeonaxx or Tlpd until a buyer pm’s them. Luckily for me I have dumb luck. Got Void Talon by flying around Draenor and seen a portal in Shadowmoon valley and I pounced on that and got the instance and mount. From what it seems that for the Void Talon Shadowmoon Valley is a hotspots for spawns. Well, kinda.

Is Aeonaxx's timer "frozen" like TLPD's if no one is in the zone or nah? Wondering if people can just hop on low pop realms or if it's a waste of time
Deepholm isn't impacted :) and to clarify TLPD's doesn't freeze, it resets entirely after 15 minutes and stays offline til someone comes into the zone, then it start from the beginning.
Whats the drake in deepholme u use to have to jump on his back mount him & dps him down, gotta feeling this is same guy but seems to have changed abit.
I got him back in like 2012 maybe when lich king hit & prior of pandas
I haven’t wow since 2013-14 after panda dropped that was it for me got sick n tired of consistent nerfs & pvp, class changes etc. And blizzard simply fix shit that wasn’t broken
its the same dragon. they changed him. He came out in cata, so you probably got him in panda, NOT LK. I got mine in 2013, and i do miss the way he used to work.
Hey girl! I was wondering if you had any advice for Voidtalon? I've been trying for this bird since the start of this year with a bunch of toons on rp realms (french/german/english) and checking both warmodes at stupid times of night/morning, but I've not had any luck at all. It's driving me insane ;_; My friend checked smv once and the first time he ever did he found a portal! I feel like I'm doing something wrong or I'm just incredibly unlucky. Any advice? ^^'
Unfortunately it's all luck based :( I've sunk about 30 hours into voidtalon this month alone without a single portal, but my friends are showing me portal spawns just as usual, so we're just super unlucky T_T I'll have an updated voidtalon guide soon, but what you're doing is good! I hope you get lucky soon
Void talon is a peace of mind knowing all zones are independent spawn timers. Keeps motivation up. Just do laps

Sooo really dumb question, but - my char is Level 39 (Shadow Priest) - do you think I can kill him? Or am I wasting my time, and I will just die fighting Aeonaxx? Thanks in advance ^^
Definitely level up first, it won't take long to get a toon beyond his level range so it's just an easy fight instead of risking it.
Dumb question, but does Aeonaxx not spawn in the big circle of rocks the same as Xarionia? This looks like Aeonaxx spawns at a much lower elevation than I've been looking at for years. :(
Nope, he hasn't spawned there before ^^ Always below the ring. Trust me though, if you were looking on the ring, you'd have seen him below. He's a big boy!

Yep! I suggest this as a method of camping in the video.
I think its better so goldfarmers cant sell the spawns to people. Makes the mount more rare and awesome!

I'm GUTTED... been hunting him for years, back for DF prep after no WOW for 3 years and I just tried to loot on a class trial..first time seen as well. How would I get this on a realm with a class trial and solo farming? You can't make groups at Lvl 40? Any advice Kraken?
I'd honestly recommend just creating and leveling a character on a roleplay realm. It doesn't take long and it pays off in less than a week if you're checking vigilantly in both warmodes. Don't have to worry about class trials or inviting or any of that stuff.

does this work with Chromie time? Im trying this at lvl 32 on a low pop RP realm. The other rare dragon Xariona is marked as unkillable and she destroys me when I tried to damage her. I dont know if Aeonaxx will be the same?
Aeonaxx is nearly impossible to solo in Chromie Time so I'd suggest camping with a group/forming one when you find him

So if bloodseeker isn't killed within those 15 seconds its guaranteed that bloodseeker will spawn again and not Aeonaxx?
Nothing like that, Blood Seeker simply spawns within the same 2-8 hour time-frame Aeonaxx does. When this happens, it resets the timer. Aeonaxx has about a 1/10 chance of spawning instead of Blood Seeker. Think of it as every 2-8 hours in Deepholm, Blood Seeker or Aeonaxx will spawn, with Aeonaxx being a rare spawn of Blood Seeker.
When Aeonaxx spawns, he doesn't disappear :) He'll be up until he's killed, or if realms reset.
Does anyone know if Aeonaxx shows up as a yellow star on the minimap to a level 60?
He won't, gotta use your eyes or a target macro, but he's pretty easy to see!
So after an eternity of camping this SOB (im sure you can all empathise lol) i finally killed him this morning. However, his corpse despawned as soon as i killed him. I was able to target his corpse/ focus it/ set target markers but no corpse was visible. I tried looting mobs close to where i killed him but no joy. Ive sent in a ticket, so wish me the best of luck. Im hiding the cutlery just in case it's bad news p.
Anyone else experienced something like this? Just to stress - details show that i tagged it; no other players were in the zone; not a trial character; i landed on a pillar so didnt fall to my doom. The corpse simply wasnt there even though i could target it. It seemed to dematerialise inside a pillar- but again, couldnt see the marker i put on it. Actually shaking now lol. Happy camping

Waited 5hr in a group. He spawns, warlocks pet kills him before the rest of the group gets there. Decide I’m getting a mount tonight somehow. Fly all over getting the last 8 toys I need for toy achievement mount. Get the achievement, no mount. Fml
Wait, didn't you use to have to mount this guy and fight him? Now you just target/kill him?
Yep, they removed the fight on his back a few years ago because it was buggy, and have now changed his spawn locations because his old ones made it hard to fight him properly.
Found him today. Killed him, fell through the pillar and was too far away to loot. Blizz support won't help. Devastated :(
If his corpse is still there, try killing something next to it and see if AOE loot will pick it up. If he's not there, then at least you know he exists... 😭😭

Sat in Deepholm for 8 hours without realising I needed to find that bat just to reset a 2-8 hour spawn timer.
Ridiculous, the old Aeonaxx method was better.
You don't need to find it, it disappears on its own after 15 seconds. It'll just restart the timer without you knowing though, but if Aeo spawns and you're checking around the main circle every few minutes you definitely won't miss him
Does Bloodseeker have the exact same spawn points as Aeonaxx?
Yes- Aeonaxx comes out of the very spot that Bloodseeker spawns, and circles that point til someone kills him.
Do you have to have WM on for him to spawn? TYSM!
Nope, as far as I know there's no rare spawn that only spawns in a specific warmode. Warmode is simply another phase for you to check if he's up, versus just only checking WM off

I don't really understand what you're asking. You're surprised that the rare spawn isn't there?

@@CozyAmbrosie oh geez im sorry lol, I really did read it as you saw him, went and leveled up a toon (which would take me hours) and were surprised to see he was gone. RP realms are unpopular but thousands of folks still play on them and use them to hunt for specifically Aeonaxx. Only thing that despawns is the bat, Aeo will be up permanently til someone kills him or if the realm shuts down/restarts.

Found him up with Chromie's Time on my leveling Warlock but he just 2-3 shots me. So I didn't end up getting it :\
Give it a shot with your voidwalker, I hear that pets dont take much damage from him but that might be different now

Man this is some bullshit, I can't find this damn dragon to save my life, it's been like 5+ years of randomly coming here to look for em... I'm over here trying my ass off to find one every night at 3am, and this womans got a whole damn farm of Aeonaxx's... No wonder I cant find em they all are on her realm... seriously though how the hell did you get footage of all their spawns with them alive... That's nuts...
If you're on a high pop realm you're basically never going to just find him up, he gets taken in 30 seconds when he spawns on a high pop realm (I've seen it happen with my own eyes lol). The best way to get this guy is to camp him. Also, not all of the footage is mine, in fact I think only 2 of the spawn clips belong to me. The rest were given to me by friends that were checking out his new spawns on PTR.

really annoyed they changed all of this out of nowhere .. i was going off information from 3 years ago and fell to my death in a panic trying to mount it .. broke my heart. Now been sat in deepholm for 45 hours over the past 4 days and now realised the spawns are different which explains why i haven't seen a bat or aeo at all D:
They had to change it because of the sheer amount of people exploiting it. Chances are if it remained the way it was, you'd never see Aeonaxx, period. At least with these changes no one else will fall to their death and miss out like you did.

yes you have to when waiting for the bat to hit, make sure to or run/fly. dont know if you have to but he don't seen me

Yes, but he is a bit tougher in "Chromie time" if you encounter him there

I think you're getting him confused with Voidtalon/Edge of Reality portals! Aeonaxx has had a spawn of 2-8 hours for the better part of 2 years, I'm pretty sure.

As of 2023 this guy can spawn in time-walking, and does 2-5k damage per swing on a level 53 warrior. Fucking irritating you can't solo this guy.
