- Swedish musician Kristian Matsson goes by the moniker The Tallest Man on Earth and sings striking folks songs in a gravelly voice that have led many to compare him to Bob Dylan. A lofty comparison to be sure but tune in to hear for yourself when he returns to Morning Becomes Eclectic. Watch / Listen to the full session here: www.kcrw.com/mu...
Its strange hearing it recorded this way. On the record its far more shrill and compressed, Ive grown to love it that way, but this is so mellow and warm. He is so, oh so good.
So i was looking up things that happened in Sweden in 1904, I stumbled across this archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/read/SWEDEN/2005-05/1116035011. Basically the article is some lady asking about Swedish earthquake activity in 1904, because there was an earthquake on the day of her great-grandparents funeral, which would fit with the lyric "Since they shook the Earth in 1904". Anyway, this lady goes on to say that her grandfather left for the US in 1902, which fits with the lyric "as i'm lowered down i hear it's a message, it's 1902 telling people to get out." as in, as the great grandpa is lowered into the grave, you know, and grandpa left in 1902. Apparently grandpa built the church too. I guess it fits pretty well, but I could be reading too much into it. Peace.
This artist. This song. This version.Timeless.
His songs! So good
I fall into a trance every song i listen to.
So amazing.
Love this tune
this video should have way more than 4,978 views. He is an amazing musician
This is beyond brilliant!!
this dude is pretty awesome
i listen to this song like 100times! but wtf happend 1904?!?
i wish i could like a video twice
Not only is he one of the most talented singer songwriters around at the moment, he is also very sexy!
this is the best singer songwriter since connor oberst!!
wow...
The worst earthquake in Sweden for the last 1000 years would fit the song i think.Destroyed a couple buildings but no-one died. Also the first cinema in Sweden opened that year.
i've made sweet love to this song
With ur mom or what ?
better than connor oberst in my opinion. I loved Connor Oberst and the bright eyes, but not even he's put out countless great songs. There's atleast 20 songs by the tallest man on earth I absolutely love
idk man. Going For the Gold by Bright Eyes is a tearjerker
Dude missed his calling. He should have been a bank robber. Just pull out his guitar, start playing, and his accomplices could clear out the place. No one would be looking in their direction, anyway.

i just saw your reply about one of my comments on the fantastic Crossroads cover by invible nigir-- what was "bullshit" what should I think about?? I complimented the man on a great cover? the closest I ever heard to Robert's recording? his language barrier probably helped him focus on the phonetics Johnson used? Is that BS? His cover was fantastic (an opinion shared by hundreds) was that BS? I don't get it? Are you offended bc you think you have a better cover? Do you play guitar? If you can't articulate a comment about a comment, there is a problem. maybe you should think before you type? I have a doctorate and have spoken in public professionally thousands of times. get a clue.
