You know it. You love it. It's the Big One. It's the wreck that usually takes out your favorite driver - and 20 other cars. From chain reactions at Dover to massive pileups at Daytona, here is every NASCAR Cup series Big One of the decade.
Credit to NASCAR, Fox, NBC, TNT, ESPN, SPEED, theLP2008, brendan007, NascarAllOut, and others.
*Since there is no strict definition of a "Big One", it was my judgement as to which wrecks to include. If you think I should have included a wreck or if I just flat out missed one, comment below. - Авто/Мото
Jeff Gordon was in 95% of the plate ones. Looking back, it's amazing that he won as many times as he wrecked on there.
That’s because he was big in the late 90s and EARLY 2000s (same as junior) when you still had legends driving and the drivers actually know what they were doing.... then you got a bunch of “new blood” (young guys) in who didn’t know how t0 drive and had (have) no clue what they are doing and are always “peddle to the medal” in traffic trying to floor it and go four wide and doing a bunch of dumb crap they shouldn’t be doing... tony Stewart and other now older racers have talked (and complained) about it nonstop and the commentators ( who are older racers) normally have no clue what the drivers are doing or thinking because what they are doing is dumb af
@@richardgrace4500 Why you hating on new drivers so much? If it weren’t for the new guys that come in NASCAR would have ended with the ‘greats’

I just woke up and this was playing on my phone. It’s gonna be a good day when you wake up to absolute carnage
We’ve gone from watching Jeff Gordon be in the Big One to listening to him announce them
47:07 - Jeff Gordon’s reactions says it all about this wreck. This one took out more than half the field.
I have way too much time on my hands, so here’s a bunch of tables listing the Big Ones of the 2010s:
By year:
2010 - 0:10 (10 in total)
2011 - 4:39 (11 in total)
2012 - 9:10 (16 in total)

2014 - 19:40 (14 in total)
2015 - 25:59 (9 in total)
2016 - 30:20 (13 in total; one wasn’t featured)
2017 - 36:12 (9 in total)
2018 - 40:39 (12 in total)
2019 - 46:30 (9 in total)
112 in total
Big Ones per track:
Daytona: 55

Charlotte: 3
Dover: 3
Texas: 3
Richmond: 3
Atlanta: 2
Kansas: 2
Martinsville: 2
Phoenix: 2
Pocono: 2
Homestead: 1
ROVAL: 1
Indianapolis: 1
Sonoma: 1
Watkins Glen: 1
112 in total
If I miscounted any Big Ones, let me know and I will fix it. Some weren’t featured on here, like one from 2016 Spring Talladega and 2019 Spring Talladega.
Nice job!
Wow
Underrated
Hard to believe Talladega had less than Daytona (like to the point where it wasn’t even close)
There are more races at daytona (Duels, Clash) and the stakes are higher in the 500. Plus, there is less room to avoid crashes at Daytona due to more grass and more narrow track surface.

Poor flagger. "It's green....I mean yellow."
2:57 - Darrell’s reaction says it all

One thing to notice about The Big One is it usually happens either at a Superspeedway or on a restart.
6:30 “Trouble turn 3 Mike, sorry. Cars around ev’rywhrr”
Mark Martin is literally in every crash 😂
So are the cars
The AJ Allmendinger flip from 2010 should've been in here
It was not a big one

DW’s absolute total disappointment in the very beginning gets me every single time. I’ve watched it I have no idea how many times and I usually always have to rewind it and listen to his disgust at least once. I’ve listened to it at least 3 times right now…
He literally sounded sick watching it happen.
It’s crazy that DW said Ryan Newman was “Snake-bit” at restrictor plate tracks then the events of yesterday now echo in my mind hearing that.
Not really. Newman has been involved in many many bad accidents on super speedways

"Defending champion Stewart, the first one in six years not named Johnson..."
That last one: Stewart entering '06
that was really well put together!
there were 4 big ones 1. Kurt Busch tried to stay off Johnson 2. Jamie McMurray blew a tire 3. Stewart knocks Kahne since 2004 Chicago and 4. Edwards got loose under Gordon all big ones at Bristol 2015
Watching this, it's hard to believe some of these guys won championships specially Johnson.

People complain about downtime in football. But through 10 years of racing, there's only 51:18 minutes of interesting content.
Mr. Diaz, great video. I was wondering, what is the least number of cars to finish a race at Talladega on the lead lap?
Favorite calls in this com-PILE-ation. Spoilers.
12:51 Charlie Brown (Mike Joy?) and Danger Mouse (DW) call a race.
24:03 The big one at Daytona has happened on lap 97!
Michael Waltrip: That's the HUGE one at Daytona.
24:26 KB *on radio*: Just having a good ol' time over here. Just hanging around...
26:50 DW: Look, I know it's a minor little thing...
(Big one immediately happens)
Me: Now I gotta watch that race to see what was minor.
28:49 "You can follow Miss Sprint Cup as the big one's happening once again coming out of turn #4
32:45 DW speechless?! "I don't know how to explain this. I've never seen anything like this."
33:12 "There are just no words to describe what just happened."
Yet DW did just that. And real well, I might add.
36:45 "How'd they not wreck?"
DW: Oh, they're wreckin', they're wreckin'!
37:27 "Well, AJ, that was a humdinger." Best. Pun. Ever!
43:07 ...And more cars are littered at the bottom of the racetrack

Mike Joy : Into the wall...
47:29 "Well THAT. Ruined. Everything."
DW admits to being speechless.
47:50 Mike Joy: You won't believe how Ryan Freese shot the gap, and got through there. I can't believe it.
(Larry McReynolds laughs)
DW: You know what I can believe? *deadpans* They wrecked again.

7:27 The most awkward big one I've ever seen.
Yeah, like most of them were just stacked in the middle of the wreck.
They were all banging into each other but nobody was really crashing.
43:56 is my all time favorite dw call
One thing I noticed with Jamie getting caught so much in these was that JPM was caught in as well while both cars were running near the front. Those last years of the COT were very good for Ganassi but they usually got caught in these so that's why their results don't look as good. Specially Montoya's since those were a lot of Top 10's that could've been to his name and maybe people would stop thinking he only did good at road tracks.
you know it was gonna be good whenever Mike Joy yelled “TROUBLE TURN 2”
If I had a shot every time I heard mark Martin is in it or he was in the wreck I would be in a coma or worse from alcohol poisoning.
Shout out to Mike Joy. Talk about the underrated. That guy is amazing in every clip and has Been for NASCAR fans for decades! Legend plain and simple

All right. While we're still under a caution, I want you to go back out on that track and hit the pace car...
7:24 Ahh... the 2011 Coke Zero 400 at Daytona... the first and only NASCAR race I ever watched from inside the arena itself! I was 6 when I watched this!
“BIG crash!”
There were several wrecks that day... but that one was by far the biggest wreck that night ending in smoke and fire! With the one at the chequered flag a close second. That day was great for me. I will never forget what I saw... 200 Mile an hour cars speeding flat out round a banked oval track with some ending up crumpled or in flames.
That's 2010
@@nachoalvarez7171 it’s the 2011 race, as the very next clip shows the wreck on the last lap. And it also shows David Ragan crossing the finish line to win the race that night. He won the 2011 Coke Zero 400 at Daytona and the 2010 cars had odd splitters the 2011 cars had smoother ones
