Finally found what I was looking for in this video. Shaun refers to "Profil doubling" and I would like to hear about differences in machine doubling and the " doubled die" varieties and where Profil doubling has occurred. Thank you Blue Ridge for all the "filler" you add in all your topics. That IS where I hear you mention things I need to hear!

I have several 1965 quarters. But I found one with double die. The date barely fits on the coin. The coin was in circulation, I will just put it aside and let it grow in value. When I set all the 1965 coins side by side. This one sticks out like a sour thumb. Great video, thank you.👍

@@scottholliday9308 I totally agree! I have a personal policy of never buying coins. I have a couple of relatives that are restaurant servers/bartenders, they let me look through all their gratuities that are given in coins. They are supportive, but think I'm crazy at the same time....LOL! One day I decided to stoke that crazy fire, I told them I was actually really looking for subliminal messages from a secret group deep within the u.s. mint and treasury department. Just a question on the 1965 quarters, where their special proofs or Cameo coins made I believe I have the double die obverse with the liberty with a big spread it's a very flashy coin with the reverse being the best with dark fields completely with the rest of the coin looking silver, the front has a lot of the dark fields but not complete that side looks clad but look strange still pretty lookin coin would appreciate any thoughts or information you may have thank you

Well I have over a $100 dollars of 1965's in my keeping that most of them have been out of circulation for about 22 years. So I just check them and check to see their clarity. A lot of them look brand new. I never really checked them for doubling but I will go back and check again with my big magnifier. I am basically trying to determine whether or not there was a mistake in the Silver Planchet content in the silver conversion from 1964 to 1965. I need to pull out my 1950 to do a comparison. But thanks for the update on this one as well.

So Im pretty sure I have this exact quarter. Can a coin have doubling on both she's? Mine seems to have pretty strong doubling on the reverse, mainly in e pluribus unum. It also has a decent lamination on the obverse caused by the collar positioned more toward the obverse instead of being centered like it should have been. There is also a die crack(s) along the outer edge of the eagles right wing that ends up containing off the.wing tip continuing to and thru the bottom of the Q in quarter., and finally a small cud/die chip that’s shaped like a little spoon that comes to more of a point , along the left wings outer edge starting where the i ends, continues under the c, and ends where the a begins, in America. Oh yeah, that last A has no hole in the middle. One more thing I think is worth mentioning. The empty space behind the eagles head, below the e.p.u. lettering, and to the left of the top of the left wing is about 60-70% filled with vertical striations all uniform in direction N to S, and do not appear to be damage.kinda similar to the 2021 quarter error on the reverse that run under Washington’s extended arm and sword. It’s also indecent condition too.

+BlueRidgeSilverHound, hi Sean/Shaun! I have $11.75 in change of this 1965 quarter!!! All of them are exactly the same as mentioned!!! On the reverse side they are also amazing and one had die cuts across the letters and cuds and I am absolutely giddy! What to do. What to do🤗🤗🤗!!!! Learning so much about coin collecting and finding the values of all my coin collecting for the last thirty-nine years have been so fulfilling! Heck before RUclips ever happened, I turned in three 5 gallons of water bottles filled with coins. The bank staff and customers thought I was ghetto but in the end of depositing my coins, I was able to pay my one month of mortgage and do a splurge shopping for my family. If only back then I knew about the value of coins back then! Luckily, I remained a collector and have every coin that is a possible contender for blissful retirement.

Interesting, l have 20 or more 65 quarters. A few have thick lettering, but does that qualify as doubling? I need stronger magnifier.

So I have a beautiful double die 1967 quarter. I'm 99%sure it's one of a kind . Don't know where I would take it to get checked out.

Chances are most likely it’s machine doubling or die deterioration doubling. No double die is one of a kind either.

I am searching through 3- 1965 tubes tonight that I found over the last few years sorting quarter rolls for this reason. Way to hard to search varieties in all years at once.
