I like it. My coach used to stand behind me and would tell me to pinch her finger tip with my shoulder blades, then a piece of paper. If you raise either of your shoulders, you can't pinch with the shoulder blades.
somehow rowing works...... bet you can .
Well now. It's control the shoulders, control the shot. Both of them; of course, and the shoulder blades move naturally into place. Thank you Master Armin.

Alternatively, start doing resistance training and you'll get proper muscle activation when doing pulling movements such as pull ups, rows etc

Since this video, my shoulders are relaxed and all else follows , and arrows want to hit very hard , parallel to one and other , and I'm hitting a 1 inch circle with each group I send down, and wether it's 10 or 25m the results the same ,

Thanks a lot for making these videos. I just got a bow a few weeks ago and ended up hurting BOTH shoulders thanks to bad form. Been practicing this while I heal up so that when I start shooting again I won't need to have another two week break.

After 3 hours of thumb release training my right draw shoulder hurts for three days. I made exactly the mistake you explain in this video. Thx a lot I will try to fix my shoulder problems with this video 😀
I used the low poundage plastic bow this shows how important the correct technique is
I struggle with keeping my draw shoulder down. I shoot Mediterranean and when I draw the bow to my face my shoulder goes up. If I try drawing with my shoulder blades back and down it feels uncomfortable and like I'm using my arm more...any advice? All your videos are awesome keep it up.

I find it harder to bring harmony in my drawing when I grab bows that ar +35 pounds
yes if you try to gain leverage by drooping the elbow the compression forces something up you often see beginners lean back when struggling ,you also se it when compound archer draw with the elbow down and across the chest. compared to the ease a wa competitor draws their bow with ease

Hi @Armin I shoot recurve Olympics for many years and my alignment was fine when the anchor point was under the chin, but since I started shooting with thumb draw my anchor point shifted to the ear/chickbone and I feel the draw shoulder to go up naturally, I have to use a lot of energy to adjust the shoulder ancors with the clavicle. Any advice? thank you for your video!
Lean upper body a bit forward, crunch your abs
@@ArminHirmer or you could develop more strength in the lower trapezius , if you wanna go with that muscle to use " back tension " or you could go with developing strength throughout the entire range of motion of the trapezius , and then recruit more power from the rhomboid , also a higher anchor point is bio-mechanically weaker since the trapezius will be stretching and not close to resting posisjon so the range to develop power is shorter .
Oh and by 1 , I mean now in the 4 arrows I send at least one hits the little 1 inch plastic disc I aim at, but again thank you for these videos , and life lessons
