In my view, Pandit Ajay Chakraborty is an artist like world's greatest monument like TAJ MAHAL and Kousiki ,the 2nd edition of Maa Saraswati like KONARK : full of finest artistry.

Long time I have not heard such a rendition of Alaap of Jai Jayanti Raaga. She Created a divine musical atmosphere and base for Drut as a logical corollary. Hats off to her.

As always with Kaushiki ji's performances, this is absolutely lovely, highly original, and full of musical imagination. And what a delight to hear my favourite raga with sarangi accompaniment! सारंगी सा रंग कहँ, जो रंग्यौ सो राग । बिय बाजा बाजै जहाँ, बेगि तहाँ तें भाग ॥ "Nothing has a soul like the sarangi's -- whatever is steeped in its colour is truly raag. Wherever the other [unnamed!] instrument plays, flee from there with all speed!"

Padma Bhushan Pt Ajoy Chakraborty is a legend and his daughter Kaushiki Chakraborty is a great Hindustani Classical artist. She is lucky to be Pt Ajoy da's daughter which enables her to get invited to sing at many sangeet sammelans, concerts, etc. both in India and abroad.
Both have one habit in common. They love to talk on stage.
She is a perfect singer and I have all praise for her.
She is akin to the style of her highly revered father Ajoy Mukerjee.
To sum up, she has made my day.

Wah kya Jaijaiwanti gaya hai!Kaushiki is such an accomplished and talented high caliber exponent of Hindustani Classical Sangeet! What an expansive range! Mazaa agaya! And she has the umbrella of her father and a legend Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty over her! My humble submission is that it would be great if she refrains from this habit of speaking to the audience in between. It disturbs the flow and pace of the gayan! As listeners, we get immersed and these bits of speaking brings you out of that bliss. It is obvious where she has picked up that habit! 🙏 Some of the Greatest Legends of Hindustani Classical don't do this at all. They only engage in appreciation of their sathidars or minimal information of the Raags or bandishes! 🙏

Koti koti pranam. Jaijawanti is her forte. I love how she explores it without making it sound too exciting or too sad and mellow ( which is not its mood) . Wish she had sung the drut a bit longer.
