Her voice, and the language, it sounds like what I imagine some of the Gods of India may sound like (pardon my ignorance of the specifics of the many cultures, beliefs and people of India) The instrument making that drone sound in the background, makes me think of the constant resonance of the cosmos, the infinite vibration of the universe. Perfect for meditating to. I love the good peaceful people of india, all who have come to my country that I have met have been lovely people. This Raga changes the neurochemistry of the brain and releases serotonin. It can cure anxiety, restlessness, insomnia, panic attacks and even psychosis. My doctoral study was on Raga and Raga Bhairavi, which is played at night. That was a very good attempt by the singer. I would love to hear the same in a male voice as well.

Wrong. You are talking apples and oranges here. Western singers do Western music, with harmony most often. It is not less, and Hindu singing as much as I enjoy it is not more, or better. It is different. Western singers have no need to interpret this music, not least because the words are in Hindi, but also because the scales are completely different. It is not more complex than a Bach Fugue for example. I'm glad you like it but stop crapping on the West because you don't understand either the West or the East.
