That piano solo!!! George Martin performed at half speed on the original Beatles version because the solo was so complex. Then the sped it up for the record.
Tim Kaiser when we talk about George Martin, Macca, Lennon, etc, we call them good/great piano players... With billy Joel, he’s considered a piano god... He tends to downplay his talent if asked about it, but he’s a wizard. Same with Elton John...
@@cranberrysack2139 And Billy is a really good hammond organ player. Just hear his skills in "Los Angelenos". In the other side; Elton hates the organ.
Young Billy did sound a lot like Paul at certain times no doubt. He could make himself sound like Lennon too, listen to “Laura” or “Surprises” from the Nylon Curtain for good examples
The recording sounds like it has been sped up so his voice sounds higher than it should. Billy usually sings higher when he covers The Beatles, but not this high.
It wasn’t produced in a studio or anything he was probably just breezing through a Beatles song he liked at some q&a so he played the piano with barely any sustain pedal and had just a stage mic
Grandissimo Artista , uno dei miei Miti da sempre !
yes i love this!!!
Beautiful

Billy sei la musicalità in persona .......
The playback speed of this recording is not correct. It is definitely sped up. A bit "chipmunk-ish"
does anyone happen to know the date of this?
This confirms it for me. Billy Joel and Paul McCartney sound identical.
John Lennon sang it
