- In Dover, officers armed with a giant x-ray tackle large-scale smugglers hoping amongst the thousands of trucks flooding through the port each day. Today the x-ray find a mysterious shadow in a truck full of chipboard, and suspect it cold be hiding millions of illegal cigarettes. And in Cornwall, the crew aboard Searcher are looking for smugglers. At first they find nothing but dolphins, but they then spot a lone yacht coming from the Canaries, a frequent transit point for cocaine, and decide to board it and search for drugs.
In Gatwick and Bristol Airports in England customs agents check baggage and travellers to uphold allowances and prevent illicit activity and substances from entering the UK.

ofcourse the guy with the cigs was gonna sell them on, but he does have a point with the "declare"-sign. a passenger would not know where to look and when it is not very obvious, one would simply walk straight past. ofcourse he would not declare them anyway
He could have spoken to a customs officer in the baggage hall, which was pointed out by the blonde customs officer who stopped him.
The guy busted with Turkish cigarettes did score a point. The signage was awful. I’m sure he had no intention of declaring them. But he was right. There wasn’t a clear way to declare
Completely agree. I would have missed that strangely obscure "declaration pillar" and concealed telephone, especially after a long flight.
Exactly my thought.
The signage was awful, but going through "nothing to declare" when you have something to declare is not the correct choice. Also, his first excuse was that the Turkish sellers told him a higher allowance, and that shows that he never intended to declare anything.
And of course, the fact that he jumps to one excuse to the other undermines his credibility for both of them. If he genuily believed that he had nothing to declare, why would he have been bothered because the process of declaring the goods was obscure?
Exactly. I hope they have sorted out the signs by now. Both signs need to be the same size.
@@sergiojuanmembiela6223 Agree with you indeed. However, he was also right as well. The signage was HORRIBLE. He could easily win that case in court.
The guy at the end should have been arrested! Violent reaction to the search. It would have taught him a lesson. Not surprised he had a record for domestic violence.
Humans are so smart until they get caught. Then it's someone else who fooled them. Lol
Edyooottt🤣🤣🤣17:02
The way that guy said “IDIOT”😂😂😂😂
Why do the custom official allow himself to be disrespected and insulted on the job?! The officials should never condone or tolerate such behavior! These people should be fined and put in their place.
new young officer, inexperienced and lacking confidence..
The reason there's a limit on cigarettes is so they can make sure they collect the taxes and has nothing to do with preserving small businesses.
Couldn't there be more than one reason?
They overtaxed them and get surprised when the black market saw the money making opportunities
In other words, economic reasons. For the country. How terrible of them!🤣
Of course black market cigarettes would affect small businesses. Are you kidding me? Where do you think that people normally go to purchase cigarettes? The gas stations, the drug stores, the small mom and pop shops. They are all impacted by huge black market for cigarettes. And when people go into buy cigarettes, they often purchase other stuff, like food, snacks, drinks, coffee. So yes the government is protecting small businesses while they want the tax monies of course. Tax money support the infrastructure, the police, the schools, roads, and much more. That are important.
@@janetpattison8474 oh yea they really cared about small business by doing this, the increase of robberies really shows how much they care
Being on a boat he would be perfectly entitled to be in possession of a knife.
Agreed, it’s essential for a sailboat
Also it’s needed for cooking
In other countries where guns aren't, mr American, knives can be deadly
CannaWeAllGetAlong guns aren't what?
@@scambodia147 I think he/she meant “ are not allowed”. In many countries no matter what reasons you cannot have a gun.
Just tell him “I am the one customs officer you are dealing with tonight”
and have him arrested. Canada would have locked him up!
I didn't know that tabac companies are small businesses 😂😂😂😂
"...examined her bags covertly..."
So without her permission then?
You think the US TSA doesn't open bags without permission?
Turn about is fair play.
You don't have a lot of travel experience, do you?
in comparison to america, a 3 year jail sentence seems like nothing. people are sent away for 10+ years for far less crimes
Stories Re. Cigarette smuggling are getting really old. But, Can you believe how rude and inappropriate people are? it’s outrageous! The customs workers need protection & I’m surprised they don’t have police officers next to them.
Why would they need police? Nobody was physical, so what? Harsh language? i bet your a quasi-commie Brit.
Waste of resources.
What a wonker the man with the cigarettes from Turkey is, lol.
Finally somebody who doesn't answer questions. His behavior was bad though.
A sure way to be delayed in customs is to tell the officer is that they need to be quick!
I think these people traveling from Turkey with too many cigarettes understand what they want to understand.
I would agree with the guy with the cigarettes, there was no clear signage on the path that he was travelling that said "Declare here." This in most places would be considered a form of entrapment.
He stated that he believed that he is allowed to bring in the 4000 cigarettes. So even if the sign was clearer, he would not have declared anything. He only complained about the sign after being explained that the limit was 200.
Only to an idiot. The signage was quite clear…unless you are stupid or dishonest.
Entrapment assumes that a person is enticed into doing something they normally wouldn’t have done. In this case, he didn’t declare the cigarettes and clearly had no intention of doing so, given that he had the option of either the red phone or speaking to a customs officer directly in the baggage hall.
I hope that guy at the end comes to the US. Throwing the contents of your bag in the customs officer’s face is assault. They would’ve immediately had a police officer on him and the search would’ve continued with the officer either beside or behind him at gun point. All our airports have police patrols crawling everywhere.
Granny is probably off her meds 🤣
Hello. Great show. Be safe out there people. Love to all
Talk about click bait! "Suspicious Yacht"? Was this a test of how lame and fake can you make a video's title?
Are you kidding me. Playing dumb won't get you anywhere! Just take them to jail!
Those Turkish smokes must be really good I’ve only seen 2 people on this show flip out about the cigarettes being seized and they were both coming from Turkey. The ones that come from Canary Islands or other places just shut up and take the lump and get on with their days.
Why can't they guns to protect themselves from pirates? You can't dial 911 for help on a boat.
Wow that's very important to do, now I understand when they see something suspicious about also not everybody does these things, there just hot headed and that makes it suspicious. Thank you for all the hardwork you all do to keep us safe
God bless you all and your families always 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
If only the british authorities were as dilligent when it comes to dealing with ILLEGAL BORDER CROSSERS across the Channel, but those are simply ferried across.
Anyone else call total BS on the fact they supposedly “Destroy” seized tobacco !!? “We are looking for cigarettes and tobacco, maybe some illegal drugs too” ??? Priorities are different in UK lol.
6:46 plot twist: that's where the cocaine was hidden.
It wasn't me dealing with that guy at the end who wouldn't cooperate and I was pissed.i use to work security at the airport in Barbados and use to experience idiots like him often.
2:45 "there is a red point with the phone...." and if you dont see this and understand the point of this "phone" might bring you in trouble. I hope wont get into this kind of traps anywhere.
why is it always L&M cigarettes
How often is this episode going to be reuploaded?
Don't watch
Yes
7:50 lesson learned. Don't be a businessman with a house and a swimming pool because the gov't will suspect you of being a criminal. They'll search your luggage, read your diary, take a picture of pages of your diary, keep that information to build a case against you four years. Law enforcement officers can seem a bit too gung ho towards getting that raise and promotion
What are you talking about? The guy was a smuggler.
@@janetpattison8474 he coincidentally turned out to be a smuggler but the narrator started off with "he has a house with a pool...how'd he get his money?"
@@JerryDLTN Yeah, if what you spend don't match your income they're gonna look into you. It's not having a house with a pool, it's having a house with a pool that you shouldn't be able to afford based on your declared income.
@@JerryDLTNbro do you listen to the narrator he said they got a tip off about him smuggling cigs
was that a Dutch yacht... should have looked a bit better....
All this for cigarettes so the government can generate revenue. Figure out another way to tax smokers rather than harass passengers over cigarettes. There are far bigger issues facing us.
Yeh what a waste of resources - customs needs to get a grip they are over paid under educated fools.
Then buy those cigs in the UK then. Countries tax things for various reasons, one of them being that it incentives people like you to buy local.
Why would they arrest the driver? It's the shipper that broke the law not the driver.
Until they question them, they don't know if the driver is in on it.
i am somewhat relieved !!! "i thought America was the only country that has "stupid" people running around.........................
No idea what the captain of the coast guard was saying. What kind of accent is that?
just know someone, like a veteran or retired soldier and see if they can help you to buy cigarettes from the military installation, the problem with cigarettes is solved... cigarette there is relatively cheaper than anywhere else!
Blondie should powder her nose, literally.
Cigarettes really? Come on
Real criminals have those reactions
They need the tax money to support the royals

Diaries are dumb.
Nice
I generally find British women unattractive but the blonde does have nice hair. She’s just unable to use good judgement because that sign is obscure.
Sign is stupid too small , it's a SCAM
