    @Old Guy Melts Plastic Hello, Would it be possible to have an explanation on the Fixed Z Joints mod from ByThorsThunder, because I can't understand how it works. I'm currently using the GE5C mod, which is mobile, it's quite disconcerting :) Thank you very much

    Lots of lovely upgrades coming. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on each and every one of them. I’ll be stripping my 2.4 down soon to convert it to a tool head changer but still have a fair bit to do in CAD. Will likely use some of the mods you have on your printer at the same time I rebuild. Keep up the great work Steph!

    I am curious about the fixed z joint, what makes them better than the bearing you where using before? I don't like the original z joint and the G5c isnok, but I still don't feel that they are 100%

      Good question! I asked in the Voron Discord's #voronuser_mods channel about the latest and greatest in Z Joints technology, as I was planning a full tear down, and currently had Hartk's GE5C Z Joints installed. Hartk himself pointed me at the Fixed Z Joints as the Next Best Thing, stating that the GE5Cs were "old news now".

      Sounds great, then I will have to try to take a look at it. In the GitHub repo I only see one stop file and very little information other than that. Do you have any idea where I can find some more info?

      The designer, ByThorsThunder, is quite active on the Voron Discord. As is Hartk, who recommended these to me. Either should be able to answer questions.

    Do you anticipate that you will be running these at 3A? Also 48V with 5160s? I am curious to see some results of these. I wanna take one of my Tridents AWD likely with Monolith.

      I plan on pushing the Krakens as fast as they'll go, or at least as fast as my hotend and cooling will allow.

    Not flipping your X-axis so you get the rails on top?

    • @oldguymeltsplastic
      @oldguymeltsplastic  2 месяца назад

      Rail, singular, and it's an MGN9. Who does top rails any more?

      @@oldguymeltsplastic trying to show a picture, but gets removed, i meant flipping the whole X-axis mounts and all so the y rails get's on top of the extrusions

      Ah! Does doing that help something?

      @@oldguymeltsplastic heh, boils down to placebo effect i think, apparently it's better for the side load you get on Core X/Y jerk. it's easier to mount, i think it looks better. but for performance gain probably zero.
