    My Taekwondo school encourages us to stretch but not forcefully like this, we have been taught to train our bodies to reach the full splits, my Master who is a 7th Dan black belt and certified Kukkiwon Master from South Korea, he told us to keep working on our stretches.
    He pushes down slightly to give us a deeper stretch, I feel terrible for these kids who are forced to do a full split immediately.

    Y-y'know, you can still get the same flexibility by doing it little by little and feel a whole lot less pain while also not going past your limits and feel excruciating pain.

      Everyone has a different bone connection at the pelvis. For the lucky few, you can literally split in a week but for others even if someone forces push you down. You won't go down because of the joint hitting the pelvis.

    I get it! No pain no gain, but you have no rights to hurt a child to do splits! This teakwondo place is not OK. I would NEVER send my child to this center. This is TOTALLY NOT Ok!

      How? With Martial Arts you can become flexible and protect yourself which is better here!

  • @belle9033
    @belle9033 Год назад

    Here's the thing, I have trained in several martial arts and have done competitive cheer- All of which have rather tedious training methods. But, from experience, when it gets to this level of pain when stretching,, it makes you more likely to suffer injuries. If you keep training with that sort of problem, the injury may become permanent. I am not saying that you can't do this. However, I am merely telling you to be cautious.

  • @6maria94
    @6maria94 2 года назад +4

    Yup, this is terrible. I've always been the worst at flexibility in my class. We'd do exercises like this to improve (not as excessive, but that can also make an injury).
    Then I started dancing at 26, and by breaking down the real technique in stretching and doing it little by little, I could touch the floor for the first time.
    I hate these exercises. They never helped me and they hurt a LOT more. If you want to improve flexibility, do some stretching routines from dancers. No one knows how to stretch like dancers
