Thank you Preston. I started my journey with this topic 18 months ago. After a lot of prayer and Bible study and your book, along with Chris Date and Edward Fudge, I have landed on the side of conditional Immortality. Love we can all embrace as brothers regardless of view. I'm doing a hell presentation for my Church this week. Thanks for all you do brother.
Thank you so much for providing an honest and fair assessment of different biblical views. I love it! I pray that more teachers, preachers, and others will approach scriptures in such a charitable manner and emphasize the fact that we can have in-house debates that don't challenge the core tenets of Christianity.
Thanks so much for you incredibly pastoral teaching Preston. I’ve so benefited from your podcast. This has really gotten my gears turning since I’d just assumed ECT but now Conditional Immortality makes more sense.
Dude! So much to think about! In the end, for the most part, the urgency of sharing the good news of salvation in through Jesus Christ remains paramount across all three views. I guess it could potentially be less so in the context of universal reconciliation, as all would continuously have the opportunity to choose to come back to God throughout eternity. But even if that were true, we still need to share Jesus and be his light in the world. Thanks for this awesome first part! Looking forward to your second one man!
I love watching this guy fumble all over himself trying to find his way around Mark. 9 with the worm that DIETH NOT! AND THE UNQUENCHABLEFIRE. And also Lazarus and the rich man in Luke 16:19-31.When the Adventists and the JW's go to a funeral, they only see a dead body and they say, that is all there was. Like rich man's brothers (Luke 16:19-31) , they only saw their brother's dead body and knew not that he was judged immediately after his death, and his soul went to Hades and was tormented "in this flame" . The Adventist's deny Christ very words and teach the exact opposite of Christ. Moreover, they have made it their mission to tell the whole world they won't be judged immediately after death and the wicked have nothing to fear nor the righteous to have no reward. . The Adventists and the cults seize upon every place in the Old Testament where the destruction of the wicked is promised on a physical level and then say it mean annihilation, just as the rich man's brothers did not know of the torment of the wicked themselves. While every reader of the Old Testament scripture and prophet who wrote them were NOT annihilationist at all. Just as the author did not believe in annihilation of the wicked so the reader did not as well. They knew that when God had destroyed the wicked in the flood or Sodom and Gomorrah, God had intervened in human affairs to send those wicked directly to hades to be tormented because there was not so much as to be an allotted time to repent. This is thoroughly and explicitly shown in the teaching of Christ that "Moses and the Prophets" (that includes every verse of the entire Old Testament) had taught the torment of the wicked immediately after the death of body. And this is not concealed at all in the Old Testament. *Therefore, all those who use the Old Testament scriptures to support conditional immortality are condemned by Christ.* Because Christ taught the Old Testament taught the exact opposite of conditional immortality. Isaiah 34:9-11 is no different which parallel to Rev.14:9-11. In both cases the scripture proclaims the torment of the wicked, and picture which is painted is that of unending torment. And, like the carnal flesh which only sees with is fleshly eyes, it does not have the mind of God to see with HIS eyes, even though he is told. And, therefore, he cannot see nor understand the scripture. So, it was with the story of the rich man and his brothers, who knew not that his brother was being "tormented in this flame" . So, the rich man wanted to send someone back to his brothers to warn them. But what says the scripture, "THEY HAVE MOSES AND THE PROPHETS TO WARN THEM, LET THEM HEAR THEM" but, like the Adventists, they don't not believe either! So then, the scripture says as if speaking of the Adventist, "NEITHER WOULD THEY BELIEVE THAT IF ONE CAME BACK FROM THE DEAD TO WARN THEM" . And so it is with the carnal and stubborn foolhardy Adventists under their false prophet. Nonetheless, in Luke 16:16-31 Christ makes it very plain that NOT ONE SCRIPTURE IN THE OLD TESTAMENT REMOTELY TEACHES THE NON-EXISTENCE OF THE SOUL OR SOUL SLEEP FOR THE WICKED BUT TORMENT DAY AND NIGHT. Likewise, the carnal minded Adventist seize upon every place where the destruction of the wicked off the earth is spoken of when it speaks of the person's body and not their soul. Yet every reader of the Old Testament truly understood that that was not the end of the punishment for the wicked and that their soul continued to be punished. But, the fleshly minded Adventists only see what is visible to them and not believing God or Christ about the torment of the soul of the wicked immediately after death as Christ and the Apostles taught. The Adventists, the Atheists and the JW's are just like the rich man's 5 brothers! They ONLY saw that he was physically dead and knew NOTHING of his UNSEEN TORMENT IN THE FLAME. Therefore, like the carnal minded The Adventists, the Atheists and the JW's refuse to hear Christ's words about the unseen torment of the rich man in Hades. Because they can only see with the flesh even when Christ warns them of what will happen to them also after death. The Adventists, the Atheists and the JW's refuse to believe. Thus, Christ answer them, "Neither would they believe even if someone came from the dead to warn them. And so it is with these fools. In Revelation 14:9-11, we are told that anyone who worships the beast and receives his mark “will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment rises forever and ever. "The Adventists, the Atheists and the JW's and all the wicked preach that no one will suffer* *torment forever and ever* A complete denial of the teachings of Christ and the Apostles. And they do so because they have been taught that the true Christ is "Satan" , while it is Satan himself, that leads them to deny the explicit words of scripture. And, because they disbelieve the scripture, they FIGHT against Christ and his Church, as an agent of the Wicked One. And what do you suppose the beast is telling the wicked who worships them? That if they do, they will be tormented forever and ever? Who would then follow them? The Adventists, the Atheists and the JW's will believe the beast when He tells them there is no HELL AND NO TORMENT, THEY ALREADY HAVE BELIEVED AND FOLLOWED THAT GREAT FALSE TEACHING. Then what do The Adventists, the Atheists and the JW's and the wicked do? They call Christ "Satan, a Monster, a Tyrant" because they have been taught by a false prophet to hate the just and righteous punishments of Christ upon the wicked. The carnal mind only see what is fleshly and not as Christ and the Church taught. Adventism is fully carnal. When they see the wicked die, they only see the death of the body and not the torment of the soul. This is exactly what happened to the rich man in Luke 16:19-31. Any 3rd grader can read the story and see the end of the matter, but not an Adventists, because they have been WILFULLY blinded by their carnal mind and Ellen G. White. Like Sodom and Gomorrah, the people in Edom are still burning and in torment. That is what Christ, and the Apostles taught. The Adventists are so carnal you can only see what is earthly. You are fully prepared to go to hell yourselves for corrupting the gospel of Christ and the Apostles and charming the wicked. You all have sent all your followers to hell and many more millions who did not repent with your Atheistic gospel of soul sleep and annihilationism. Get ready, because except you repent, you will find yourself there shortly. Why do the Adventists and their like, so despise the eternal punishment? Because they know they are evil and rather than repent of their evil, they find it much easier to deny the explicit teachings of Christ and Christ Himself, than to repent. A righteous man does not fear the just punishments of God. One day, the Adventist will be like the rich man in Luke 16 wishing you could send someone back from the dead to warn your brothers “Lest they come to this place of torment” where they are!! It’s happened MILLIONS of times already to Adventists!
Thanks Preston for opening the "can of worms" pun intended. Can't wait for next week where I am sure you are gonna reveal you position. Just a couple of thoughts - context of verses - ex. Romans 5 - all (18) verses many (15) - will of man vs will of God - ex. Mark 14 (Jesus in the garden) a bit of a stretch when it comes to hell but parallel that with the choice of the sheep and goats in Matt 25 - ultimately the value in justification by faith - Paul's whole ministry. I am so looking forward to the discussions Thank you for your commitment to Christ, His Word and not backing down on challenging us!
Thanks for the great message Preston (I have not listened to the second part but plan to very soon). We are studying Hell in our small group, a discussion I've been leading for a couple weeks now. This material (and moreso actually I mean your approach) has been very consistent with what we've been discussing... We are trying to understand the concept of hell based on a hermenutic that focuses on theological themes rather than proof texting and tradition.... so far it's been more confusing than anything else but we are all being pulled out of our comfort zones and at the end of the day the challenge for us so far has been to have more urgency for celebrating and discussing Jesus with our non-believing friends, not because of some eternal ethereal place of punishment in some distant future, but because of the present-day reality of both the Kingdom of God as well as the hell we unleash on each other given humanity's state of brokenness. I'm very new to your material but it seems to jive well with some other scholars I follow very closely and I plan to add your stuff to my normal rotation. Thanks for the great material again, I look forward to more! Cheers!
Great teaching! Another thing that stands out for me is, that it's not enough just to be Biblical, considering each view is using Bible to support its position. I believe it also comes down to which one is correctly interpreted. Grace & Peace!
Preston, I (along with MANY others) would really love for you to write another book on this topic. Maybe as a "follow up" book to your earlier book "Erasing Hell". Just a suggestion.
Thanks for the excellent breakdown of the 3 options. One thing that I’ve pondered more recently is the blending of judgment and salvation as being one and the same. And yet as per Revelation 20:12 and the parable of the sheep and the goats our judgment is based on what we do or don’t do which is a complete contradiction of salvation being a free gift of God lest anyone should boast. This contradiction causes me to draw the conclusion that they are 2 separate issues (although probably like intersecting Venn diagrams where one influences the other). Also you might want to check out “The Inescapable Love of God” by Thomas Talbott for a more thorough discussion of ultimate reconciliation (through the cross) of all.
@Kev Cooper Well, Kev, there's quite a lot we can discuss, and I've spent copious amounts of time talking with hundreds of people about this, but most of my efforts have seemed to be dismissed with text proofs on verses of gloom and doom. But that's not what the word Gospel means. I can provide links for you that would say way more than what I could and it would be a tremendous time saver. There are around 76 fairly strong passages that strongly suggest that God will reconcile the world by figuratively "burning away the bad stuff in us" and many other passages that tie those passages together respectively. Much more than this, when we're measuring Scripture based on the character of God's love and sovereignty, using common moral deductive reasoning, we can safely conclude that God will do the right thing in the end. After all, he does declare the end from the beginning no less.
Thank you dear brother. When I first was welcomed into His kingdom at age 41 one of the first thoughts I had....what would I say while sharing the gospel If I was asked about their "Uncle or Aunt" that died without believing. Even the thought of my own relatives. I thought I only had one choice. Choosing God new best, and I wasn't going to be able to understand this side of heaven. Years later that old thought literally dropped into my mind. I decided to take a good look at scripture. It was scary, as if I was causing my own doom by questioning what was so admittedly taught. It was not as chrystal clear as I had been taught. It's taken years reading and listening. One Sunday morning my Pastor said if you don't believe in Heaven and eternal torment in hell you don't belong here. I new him for many years. I met with him and told him I didn't believe that and probably needed to leave. He agreed. I get it and I finally am able to let go of the hurt and pain. I do not hold it against him nor would I mention his name. That's not the purpose of telling the story. The cross covers all. That truth freed me to still love even from a distance for now. I know I sought Him with everything in me. The goal is to Know Him...all of Him. Still pressing in. God bless and keep you. May proverbs 8:17 be your life.
This is good. I agree that the annihilation view makes the most sense according to the Bible. Universalist view doesn't make sense at all to me- if it were true that God ultimately overrides all those who don't believe, and that everyone gets to heaven eventually regardless of their deeds or who they believe in, then the whole Bible and especially God's wrath at ungodly nations, sins, the Flood of Noah, wiping out the Canaanites, and a multitude of Bible events make no sense. If God is going to save everyone anyway, but after a short period of punishment. Why would Jesus scold anyone, if He's just going to save them all regardless? Why try to do what's right, when it's just a farce, and you'll have infinite chances after death? Why have an Armageddon or any judgements at all, if in the end it doesn't matter? And why spread the Gospel, when everyone will have infinite chances to change their minds and God will override their unbelief at some point and save them all no matter what? Why even send Jesus to suffer, if everyone gets the same result regardless. It's just a big charade, and honestly almost like a mashup of Christianity and Buddhism reincarnation philosophy. In view of the Bible, that believe is unscriptural and 100% a fantasy and a farce. For that matter, if we took the universalist view to our parenting, why bother to be a good father to our kids, if we were just going to wave a wand and override all their mistakes and their wills and make them turn out heavenly and full of goodness anyway in the end? It's ludicrous and makes the whole thing pointless.
Whatever the narrative of hell is for, it's not for scaring people so they would behave. It's more like an encouraging promise that evil will be dealt with and righteousness will prevail, so people would trust that doing good is never in vain. Most importantly, you don't need the story of hell in evangelism. Love is enough to turn people to God!
Steve Gregg has a book by this exact title, "the three christian views of hell" w/ much if not all of the exact content but I didn't hear his name mentioned-interesting
I also think that existing forever, eternality is also dependent upon faith in Christ. And I’m a universalist. Yay! :) Not just the adherents of conditional immortality.
No, that's not correct in the sense he means it. Conditional immortality is the only one that holds that salvation is the _cause_ of immortality. Traditionalism holds that immortality is the cause of eternal torment for some and eternal bliss for others (with the bliss being caused by salvation); and universalism holds that salvation is caused by universal immortality (which is assured to every person _because_ it will eventually cause salvation).
@@WhiteStoneName I'm aware it's not your view -- that's my point. You said "I also think that" and "Not just the adherents of conditional immortality." So my response is to point out that the view Sprinkle explained as conditional immortality is genuinely unique to them.
I did think of one way to reconcile eternal torment and annihilation. If hell is in a black hole, then those falling into it (the condemned) would experience time dilation, meaning that time would speed up for them and that the time to fall into the hole would literally seem to take forever. To an observer at a distance, however, the time until the condemned enter the Schwarzchild radius (and thus disappear from view) would seem rather quick. An added bonus of this theory (besides appealing to a Sci Fi fan like me) is that if the condemned are still conscious as they pass the Schwarzchild radius, they would be confronted with all the light that has been generated by the star since it collapsed but that has failed to escape black hole. Could this be the "lake of fire"? Does it sound like I'm ready to join the aluminum-foil hat brigade?
Hey, I remember when you first posted this one. You did a great job covering them all briefly here and then you did the one video on the Annihilation view, but when are you going to do the videos for the other two views? Been waiting for a while, perhaps it slipped your mind?
Watched a bit of it again and I think I realized that I misunderstood the first time, you only said you were doing two videos... I had thought this was going to be one introductory video, then one for each view so you could go deeper into the text. I for one, would really appreciate that... but I understand that you have a life. ;-)
I feel that it’s terrifying, of course, but I liken it to the penal system or judicial process we have right here on Earth. I want to know if anyone else has this opinion about Hell because as a Catholic, it’s a very strict system and while on that topic anyone out there within another religion that doesn’t consider missing Church as a mortal sin.
Hells punishment may be exclusive to being separate from God. To think that Christ's blood overpowers an unbeliever's rejection is wild. Here's a thought, if faith is to draw out God's fruit in us...then how does fruit come from a dead man in the grave?
Hell is a literal place. It says so in Gods word. Not only do we need to impart the Love ofGod, but that as human beings, we have to observe the ten commandments. We must fear God. As in total respect. Jesus literally went down into hell before He ascended to the right Hand of God. What I’m saying is that God is a jealous God. He also said if were lukewarm, he will spew us out of His mouth. There’s clear cut lines there. These days, people need to know that they must make a choice for life. Eternal life in Jesus. One must turn from sin. You’d have to shut yourself up in a room forever to avid sinning at all but we are new creatures, and when something comes up; sinful thoughts, using Gods name in vain, etc., we then have a conscience about it and stop and repent.
Lovin this so far. I’m gonna share it as a good Hell primer for Christians. But stop saying, “Bible-believing” Christians. Your Protestant shorthand triggers me. ;) As if, non-Protestants don’t believe the Bible. We canonized the dang thing! :) Love you. Muah.
If your biblical view is that Gehenna is a metaphor of Gods judgement, and that it being translated as Hell (a literal place) is not warranted. Then the existence of hell can be disputed!
Hell is Geek pagan mythology teaching we also get it from Dante's inferno- Millions believe that you have an immortal soul that either goes to heaven or hell when you die. Yet the words “immortal soul” are nowhere to be found in your Bible. Think for a moment, if you already have an immortal soul then why do you need God? You already have something that lives forever inside of you, why would you need a relationship with God? The concept and teaching of the immortality of the soul does not come from the Bible! Philosophers like Plato and Socrates came up with the concept as they speculated about the state of the dead. What does the Bible really say about immortality?
@7:26 *EXISTENCE OF HELL IS NOT DISPUTED* I dispute the existence of hell. Gehenna was and is a valley southwest of Jerusalem. Isaiah 66: 24 explains what happens there--no torment, no pain, no suffering.. (Jesus, talking about Gehenna, quotes Isaiah at Mark 9: 48) ✴ _“And they will go out and look on the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me; the worms that eat them will not die, the fire that burns them will not be quenched….”_
Hell will contain the exact opposite attributes of God...no light, no love, no peace, no forgiveness, no help, no refuge, no grace and worst of all, no hope...forgotten.
Gehenna, while an actual place called the valley Hinnom, was a place where Jews and others would sacrifice their children to pagan gods such as Molek. The Bible specifically uses the term Gehenna in its books of prophecy equating the punishment of evildoers to be as severe as the things done in Hinnom. Gehenna is not used literally but mainly figuratively especially when you take into context the books it is written in. It’s easy to see that the Israelites understood this at the time as we have other non biblical texts such as the Targum which is an ancient text made to translate the Old Testament into Aramaic. Although the translators went ahead and offered explanations of what the views were about the text making it not a direct translation. Anyways that book clearly describes Gehenna of a similar idea to hades or hell. All that to say, biblically and even outside of the Bible, the idea of a judgment after death and some sort of punishment in a place like hades or a place that is reminiscent of the evils done in the valley of Hinnom is a very common view that was pretty clearly held to. Of course there will always be dissenters to literally anything the Bible says but to holding the view that the Bible teaches of a Hell is very common and is the main belief actually. Highly disputed might not be the right term as most Christian’s and Jews hold to idea of something like that.
*"Conditional immortality is a shocking phrase...."* Actually, it makes perfect sense, Kerri. Let me unpack it for you. A) At present, nobody has immortality (Genesis 3: 22-24, 1 Timothy 6: 16). B) When people die today, the righteous _and_ the wicked alike, they really are dead. Jesus said death is analogous to sleep (John 11: 11-14). C) Christians will receive immortality when they are resurrected from the grave (1 Corinthians 15: 53-54). D) Unbelievers never will be given immortality. They will not live forever. Thus, receiving immortality and living forever is conditioned upon being born again (John 3:16, Romans 2: 7, John 6: 51).
@@IsaacNussbaum Like the rich man in Luke 16:16-31, every Adventist who has ever died has found themselves in the same Hades *being tormented in this flame* wishing he could warn is brothers of what is coming for them in the future. Adventists never get it. If you are Adventist, JW or Atheist *It's going to happen to YOU TOO* *In Luke 16:19-31 Christ opened up to the Christian the unseen world of life after death* The Adventists do everything possible to convince the Christian that we should IGNORE what Christ made explicit. The Adventists, Atheists and cults do every thing they can to change the subject and the meaning of the Christ's explicit words! The Adventists PREACH the wicked should ignore the warnings of eternal torment! These very scriptures were intended to send stark terror in the hearts of the wicked that they would turn to Christ and righteousness. Yet, Ellen G. White the Adventist Church says to ignore them and do everything they can to force them to be meaningless to the wicked! Christ commanded His Church to preach these things, but the corrupt Sabbath keepers forbid it as they did in Acts 5. 1. The Adventists all teach *the undying worms are eating on a dead body* so that you can tell THE WICKED they won't feel any pain or torment. *When the truth is, the scripture is speaking of the TORMENT OF THE WORMS EATING ON THE BODY AND SOUL OF THE WICKED NEVER TO STOP!* (Mark 9:48, Isaiah 66:22-24) 2. The Adventists teach the wicked that *the unquenchable fire, will be quenched in a few second so, THE WICKED won't feel any pain and have nothing to fear.* *When the truth is, the scripture is speaking of the TORMENT OF THE FIRE BURNING THE BODY AND SOUL OF THE WICKED NEVER TO STOP!* (MT. 5:41-45) 3.The Adventists teach the WICKED the torment of the wicked in Hades is just a grave,* so you don't have to worry about being punished with torment like Christ Himself taught about the wicked rich man. *When the truth is, the scripture is speaking of the TORMENT OF THE FLAMES BURING ON THE BODY AND SOUL OF THE WICKED NEVER TO STOP!* (LUKE 16:19-31) 4. The Adventists teach, *the soul CAN be killed when the body is killed,* so the WICKED don't have to worry about being punished after death as Christ taught. *Moreover, if the soul dies with the body, than other people COULD kill both the body and the soul in one act* Mt. 10:28 *says the soul CANNOT BE KILLED* 5. *The Adventist's are preparing the way for the Beast and the False Prophet* The Adventists teach *eternal punishment is annihilation,* so they won't fear eternal punishment and repent of their sins. You all make void the word of God by your traditions and lies. The Adventists have made *the threat of eternal punishment meaningless* which was intended to make the wicked repent lest they go to eternal punishment. Adventists make the threat of unquenchable fire meaningless, because you claim it only burns for seconds. *When the truth is, the scripture is speaking of the TORMENT NEVER TO STOP TORTURING THE BODY AND SOUL OF THE WICKED* 6. *The Adventists have made the threat of unquenchable fire meaningless* which was intended to make the wicked repent lest they go to the unquenchable fire, now they do not repent and neither do you all. Adventists make the threat of the torment of the gnawing of undying worms meaningless, because you claim, they only eat dead bodies that feel no pain!! Oh how the false prophet and the beast's love the gospel of annihilationism. They Adventists are preparing the way for the false prophet. Do you think for one moment the false prophet will promise the torment of the wicked if they are worshiped? Not for one second, they will tell everyone how there is no immortal soul and torment of the wicked at their death. 7. When Christ speaks explicitly and says the entire Old Testament ( *the law and the prophets* ) warn of the soul of the wicked being punished immediately after death, The Adventist say, IGNORE IT, IT'S JUST A "PARABLE" so that the WICKED will not repent and neither will the Adventists. 8. When Christ says, the rich man wanted to warn his five living brothers, "lets they come to this place of TORMENT", Adventist teach there is no torment in Hades, it's only a grave and a pile of dirt. The truth is that "HADES" is never the grave. 9. When Christ says, that they wouldn't believe even if the rich man came back from Hades and told them OF THE TORMENT IN HADES the Adventist Church says, men aren't alive in Hades. JUST IGNORE CHRIST AND HIS WARNING, hades is just a pile of dirt so that the WICKED ADVENTISTS WILL NOT REPENT exactly as the false prophet and the beast would have you believe! When, the opposite is true. 10. Here in Luke 16:19-31 *Christ opens the people's eyes unto the unseen world immediately after death and the Adventist despise Him for it!* Here Christ warns them what will happened to them if they refuse to repent, and the Adventist despise and blaspheme Christ for doing so. Christ let's every man know what happened to all the wicked in Noah's time, and to those in Sodom and Gomorrah and all the wicked down through the ages including false teachers and doers of evil and the Adventist despise Christ for it rather than repent of their sins. God is immortal and when God created man, he said, "let us make Man in OUR image" and then He breathed in to man and made him A LIVING SOUL. God is immortal and so He made man in His image. You all can't get the simplest things correct. God did NOT breathe into the animals as He did man! *The Adventists have made the threat of unquenchable fire meaningless which was intended to make the wicked repent lest they go to the unquenchable fire,* now they do not repent and neither do you all. *Adventists make the threat of TORMENT IN HADES meaningless, because you claim it's only a dirt grave!* The Adventists have made the threat of the torment in Hades meaningless, now they do not repent and neither do you all. *Except you repent, you will deserve every thing you get!* 1. Revelation 16:7 And I heard another out of the altar say, *Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.* Revelation 19:2 *For true and righteous are his judgments:* for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. >
There aren't three Christian views of hell. There is only one, conditional immortality. Eternal conscious torment is an Egyption/Babylonian pagan view. Universalism is a cultic view.
Thank you Preston. I started my journey with this topic 18 months ago. Same!
Fudge is very shallow, and his name fits his work.
@@catholic4sure976 You obviously have not read his whole works. Sad a "Christian" would smear the name of a dead man. I will pray for you. 🙏🙏

This has really gotten my gears turning since I’d just assumed ECT but now Conditional Immortality makes more sense.
Super anxious and excited to hear the next video also!! Thanks for making these vids.
Just a couple of thoughts
- context of verses - ex. Romans 5 - all (18) verses many (15)
- will of man vs will of God - ex. Mark 14 (Jesus in the garden) a bit of a stretch when it comes to hell but parallel that with the choice of the sheep and goats in Matt 25
- ultimately the value in justification by faith - Paul's whole ministry.
I am so looking forward to the discussions
Thank you for your commitment to Christ, His Word and not backing down on challenging us!
This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you so much!
You're very welcome!
This talk was very well spoken and informative
Thank you for this video. Looking forward to the next.
This is very informative and helpful, thank you!!
Preston,
I (along with MANY others) would really love for you to write another book on this topic. Maybe as a "follow up" book to your earlier book "Erasing Hell". Just a suggestion.
still waiting for this :D
Yes!!!!
I have had this fear my entire Christian life. Even to the point fearing losing the Holy Spirit..so thank you for your insights.
Conditional mortality seems like the most biblical and ultimately makes most sense overall.
I land more on the side of Christian Universalism. Why Conditional?
Preston if you wrote a book about this and where you land now I would DEFINITELY buy it and tell others the same.
@@WilliamTanksleyJr Well, as an adherent of universal reconciliation that's not my view. So...
@@WhiteStoneName I'm aware it's not your view -- that's my point. You said "I also think that" and "Not just the adherents of conditional immortality." So my response is to point out that the view Sprinkle explained as conditional immortality is genuinely unique to them.
Preston, what is your view?
@@cherylwilliams4738 Last time that I knew, he self-identified as an adherent of conditional immorality or annihilationism.
Come out of babylon sister.
Anyone know what presentation software he uses to create this video?
Hells punishment may be exclusive to being separate from God. To think that Christ's blood overpowers an unbeliever's rejection is wild.
Here's a thought, if faith is to draw out God's fruit in us...then how does fruit come from a dead man in the grave?
Have you heard of the book.."Christians in hell". Curious to know your input
Do you have confirmation by way of it being on your iPhone!?!
Lovin this so far. I’m gonna share it as a good Hell primer for Christians.
But stop saying, “Bible-believing” Christians. Your Protestant shorthand triggers me. ;) As if, non-Protestants don’t believe the Bible. We canonized the dang thing! :)
Love you. Muah.
If your biblical view is that Gehenna is a metaphor of Gods judgement, and that it being translated as Hell (a literal place) is not warranted. Then the existence of hell can be disputed!
You have made a good point. Geena in Greek can be translated Gehenna or The Valley of Hinnom, but should not be translated as Hell.
Why the ultimate question is: Is It biblical? Can you do a vídeo about that? Is it possível to be a christian and reduce the authority of the bible?
(Jesus, talking about Gehenna, quotes Isaiah at Mark 9: 48)
✴ _“And they will go out and look on the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me; the worms that eat them will not die, the fire that burns them will not be quenched….”_
Hell will contain the exact opposite attributes of God...no light, no love, no peace, no forgiveness, no help, no refuge, no grace and worst of all, no hope...forgotten.
The existence of hell actually is highly disputed. Gehenna is a literal place that has nothing to do with the pagan belief of hell.
25 before 2020 must mean you became a Christian in 1995 --- you did not say what year you were born ---
Conditional immortality is a shocking phrase and it made no sense at all. You are either I believe it or not.
If you are Adventist, JW or Atheist *It's going to happen to YOU TOO*
*In Luke 16:19-31 Christ opened up to the Christian the unseen world of life after death* The Adventists do everything possible to convince the Christian that we should IGNORE what Christ made explicit.
*When the truth is, the scripture is speaking of the TORMENT OF THE WORMS EATING ON THE BODY AND SOUL OF THE WICKED NEVER TO STOP!* (Mark 9:48, Isaiah 66:22-24)
3.The Adventists teach the WICKED the torment of the wicked in Hades is just a grave,* so you don't have to worry about being punished with torment like Christ Himself taught about the wicked rich man.
*When the truth is, the scripture is speaking of the TORMENT OF THE FLAMES BURING ON THE BODY AND SOUL OF THE WICKED NEVER TO STOP!* (LUKE 16:19-31)
4. The Adventists teach, *the soul CAN be killed when the body is killed,* so the WICKED don't have to worry about being punished after death as Christ taught. *Moreover, if the soul dies with the body, than other people COULD kill both the body and the soul in one act* Mt. 10:28 *says the soul CANNOT BE KILLED*
*When the truth is, the scripture is speaking of the TORMENT NEVER TO STOP TORTURING THE BODY AND SOUL OF THE WICKED*
*Except you repent, you will deserve every thing you get!*
1. Revelation 16:7
And I heard another out of the altar say, *Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.*
Revelation 19:2
*For true and righteous are his judgments:* for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

I think you’re all wet 😁
There aren't three Christian views of hell. There is only one, conditional immortality. Eternal conscious torment is an Egyption/Babylonian pagan view. Universalism is a cultic view.
