I’ve Been feeling the same way!! For the life of me I just can’t understand what it is, but I’ve just been in this mood. It’s not depression but it’s more like I’m uncomfortable. Not wanting to be around people or certain things Anymore. I’m Also getting closer to God and just trying to find myself Again. So weird but hearing you share this makes me feel like I’m not alone.

Whew…this talking was talking! I love your “come to Jesus” moment in this vlog. It had me thinking about how my life has evolved from my younger self. It’s so true, if you don’t like something about yourself, YOU have to change it. This is confirmation that the changes I’ve made, the changes I’m going to make moving forward is NECESSARY in order to elevate. I’m excited for what’s in store. Yes Hon! The "Dark Night of the Soul" ain't NO joke. I've had two SEVERE ones, but I'm also a 43yr old woman who was married with three children by my 22nd birthday, who then I had 3 more kids within the seven years following; so I had to do some MAJOR reconstruction within myself as my kids came of age. All of that was to say, follow whatever your intuition tells you to do. There's ultimately NO right or wrong so do what you FEEL lead to do, no matter who has what to say about it. For comparison, of course we know not to take someone's life, but when put in a situation where it's your life or there's, protecting yourself is the right choice. That was a little to the extreme but I wish someone would have given me that grounded of an example when I was younger ... I pray Source provides you with clarity and peace on your journey. From what I've seen between your channels, you're acing this life thing!😉

I love that you’re getting closer to God. Listen to Him because He does speak back and He will direct your path. I’m on the same journey. I moved to ATL 4yrs ago for school and it was the BEST decision I ever made. I just need to add a “social life” to my list cos all I do is work.

I agree with you on taking responsibility but we have to be careful about what it is we are taking responsibility of. So often as part of healing, we try to take on responsibility of everything because that’s kind of how it’s taught to us. For example, “if a man treated you like trash is because you allowed him to.” (I don’t agree with this at all btw just giving an example). So to feel like we are in control, we convince ourselves that we LET him treat us this way. In the moment, we may feel adult and healed and responsible but in the future? that weight starts to feel heavy. Now you question your discernment. Now you wonder if you can trust men. You wonder if you can trust yourself. Why? Because you have convinced yourself that someone else’s behavior is your fault.
To sum it up, as women, especially as black women, we need to learn to really and truly only carry what we are responsible for as individuals. It’s hard because we are raised to represent the whole. We are raised to know how everyone in the room is feeling except for ourselves. I think the burden of pain is one we need to divorce already and stop shaming other women into carrying it. We do it out of love but really it’s pain.

It’s the protective hairstyles that you get done using your "real" hair, not "wigs." Your hair is braided underneath those wigs. That is what helps it grow, not a fake wig that was glued to your head.
