When I was in HS in the 60’s the cafeteria served a dish very similar (minus the carrots) they used celery diced up. The gravy was fantastic and they served it on a plate with mountain high fresh baked rolls. Absolutely incredible.
I just wanted to say, I have been reading my Bible a lot more lately and your comment about reading your Bible really, really, blessed me. It was a God thing, encouraging me. GOD BLESS YOU!!!
@@TTScraps God bless you both and be with you . i lovee chicken and noodles . i use to work at a bob evans 4 years . the soups all come from a bag tt . they just pour it in hot water.. lol . it was good for from a bag . i took it home leftovers
Literally SAME! I am making crockpot chicken noodle soup right now. Fiancé and I are snowed in, and I am picking up my bible and continuing on with reading it! ❤
Tammy, you made my day! I've seen at least a dozen videos of chicken & noodle recipes to use in my Instant Pot I just got for Xmas. I decided to watch 1 more video even though you are using a crock pot. Your video is the ONLY one serving this over mashed potatoes. Yes!!!!! That is exactly what I wanted to do. A little cornbread too (with hot butter and maple syrup). OK, I grew up in Northern Indiana farm country and we served bean soup that way too. Love it!! So much for an old guy!!
Recently my mother has passed away and she always made this but I could never find the recipe and I found this video and I am 1000% saving it for when I want some, thankyou!
Made this the other night and oh my was this the BOMB. This is, if not the best, very close to the best dang crockpot recipe i ever made. Taste pretty close to the noodles & mashed potatoes my grandmother use to make. She would spend all day making it and this was SO easy to make. Awesome job!!!
I love this recipe so much! It’s my favorite way to make chicken noodle soup. It’s going to be cold and rainy here tomorrow, so this is what I will be making for dinner. Came back to re-watch and get a refresher on how to make it. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing! I have been searching for this recipe. I lived most of my life in northwest Indiana and loved this dish. I moved to Las Vegas 8yrs ago and I miss my midwestern food! Thank you again! Blessings 💞
This is in my crockpot now! I’ve been looking for this recipe for a long time and can never find one that’s quite right. This one is exactly what I’m looking for!! Thank you for posting!!
My mom made this and it's one of my favorite things she makes when I come home from college. This recipe is sooooo good! I think everyone needs to experience it haha. Great video!
Ijust made this Tammy!!! wow!! what a great easy recipe...watched this a bout 10 times to get it right...ha!! the noodles make all the difference...please whoever use these and not ones that are dry..thanks so much for this Tammy!!!
I can not wait to make this. In fact I am going to get the stuff today because tomorrow is suppose to rainy and grey and this will be perfect. I can't believe how think it turned out at the end. And no judgement here about putting it over potatoes. This girl loves carbs. Especially potatoes.
TT.Scraps This was soo good. I made it yesterday because the weather was dreary. I ended up feeling pretty bad yesterday too along with my kiddos. We have all come down with something so it was the perfect meal. My husband asked me if I had planned on making it or if I made it because I wasn't feeling well. I told him it was in my plans I just happened to be sick. My 1 year old adored it. She couldn't get enough. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
I'm going to use Betty Crocker or Idahoan instant potatoes. They are a real timesaver and delicious! I did try making a gravy out of a can of Campbell's chicken and noodle soup but it didn't have the robust flavor I was after. This should be better. Thank you for the idea. I have made homemade noodles but mine are tough and too much work.
I have done this in the instant pot a few times but i think I’m going to give your version a try. Looks easier. Im trying to get away from the instant pot. I feel it’s more trouble. Thanks for the recipe.
I will be making this soon with my own homemade noodles but honestly I think I fell in love with your style of cooking comfort food and carbs...noodles, mashed potatoes and rolls, can’t go wrong with those considering they are my favorites!!! Thank you so much for sharing your recipe with us!
Oh it's an ancient family secret! :) LOL!! I'm totally teasing - It is Bob Evans Mashed Potatoes found in the refrigerator section of the grocery. :) I try to make them sometimes but they are a lot of work and mine never turn out any better than the Bob Evans ones!
I made this tonight and it was as good as it looked!!! I am not an onion fan so I may use a little less next time and see how it tastes. Those noodles are AWESOME! I'm so excited about that discovery! Thanks for this!!!
Made this tonight for the first time - ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS.....!!! Super easy to make, house smells great while it’s cooking, lots of leftovers for extra lunches or dinners over the weekend! Thanks for sharing - this is definitely going into my “make again” recipe file....👍
My daughter is begging me to make this already. She said it looks delicious. My daughter is a picky eater, so for her to want this so bad makes me excited.
Getting back into cooking and found this video. Looks delicious! Making it for dinner tonight only thing im switching up is pan searing the chicken beforehand to give it a little extra flavor. Can't wait to dig in! 🍴
I think this video was very nice and i used it to make my family this dinner. This video was chock full of great info including some personal stuff that was nice too. Thank you and keep making good videos.
I've made it twice in 2 weeks. Love it. I add canned peas (drained) last 20 min. Top off with pepper medley (grinder) and since I have to have hot sauce of some sort I use Tabasco lol. Gives it a crazy zing
I made this the other night!! OMG my family loved it. It doesn't look like it's going to make a lot but it does. I have a family of 4 and we still had leftovers for lunch the next day!! Thank you so much will be making again.
I just made this but I used granulated chicken bouillon instead. It did not look as thick and creamy and yours but then again I just started it. Hope it turns out. :) I'm making cornbread to go with it.
Pretty good stuff. When I opened the crock pot lid, the aroma filled the house and was intoxicating. I used 2 large breast pieces and 1 thigh, cut the butter to 1/2 stick and had to change to a larger dutch oven and finish in the oven on 275. I add my pepper after serving. Will definitely make it again, thanks much! Oh, I liked your crinkle cut carrots so used 2 fresh carrots and used my hand crinkle cutter, adds a nice touch. Was afraid noodles would be chewy but got them just the way I like. The soup base or B than B chicken which I keep on hand (latter after being out of fridge got a little runny), anyway I would describe it as a "paste".
This is the best recipe I have seen yet (though quite a few of the brands of ingredients we don't get here in Australia, and my very favourite chicken flavouring isn't made any longer) And also, the Betty Crocker double ended spatula that you use, I have 2! They are my favourites! And I also got my first one to use to scoop out cans! LoL though I had to pay $3 each for mine at our "cheap" shop! I can't wait to try this recipe! Thanks for sharing
I gotta give you a thumbs up!! I'm going to try the chicken and noodles it looks so yummy. But I'm going to X out the potatoes. Maybe I'll try a pork steak or a beef steak and rolls. Looks great thou!
This does look yummy. I have two thoughts. First regarding the noodles. Those look much thicker than traditional egg noodles, so if they, or something similar, are not accessible and the thinner ones are used, I would suggest lessening the time they are being cooked. Secondly, I would recommend using bone-in chicken, and after it is cooked, using the bones to make bone broth. This would, of course, add to the time it takes to prepare the dish, but the substitution of the bone broth for the Tones would add so much to an already delicious meal. The bone broth could be made in whatever way you choose, but a pressure cooker would speed up the process. Add just a splash of ACV to help break down the bones.
Looks amazing! We had those salt and pepper shakers growing up, and I wish I had my mama’s set. I don’t know what she did with them which makes me so sad. I’m going to try this recipe soon! 😊 Thank you!
looks delicious. The only changes I would make is no black pepper as I hate it and I would serve with a side salad or veggie. I don't see putting noodles over potatoes, I would do one or the other.
Understand! :) Thanks so much for watching and I hope you do try it 'cause it's really good! I may make it here again real soon! :) I always have salad stuff ready in the fridge cause a nice salad goes with everything! :)
Oh I am making this for tonight!!! Do you ever add parsley or fresh herbs to it? And I am all about serving it over mashed potatoes!! How much of the chicken base do you use?
Oh, I hope you tried it and love it!! I needed 4 C of broth so I used whatever the equivalent is....I think 4 t of the base with 4 C water. I don't usually add fresh herbs, but I'm sure they would be an enhancement! :) Mashed potatoes are a must with this in our book! :) SOOOOOO GOOD!
Oh lordy, now I need a slow cooker, I had one and got rid of it when I moved because I thought I would have no room, but low and behold I do haver a bit of room. I think I'm older than you, but in the late 60's and early 70's my mom used to buy TV dinners in the metal trays, I think the Banquet brand. My favorite was the chicken noodle dinner, it came with corn in one compartment and apples in the the other small section, but gosh your noodles remind me of that dish. I used to think those Saturday Night TV dinners were a real treat. We don't have those noodles here in Southern California, so I'll look for the Amish or Homemade brand noodles. When I get a cooker, I'll be sure to give this a try.
Had the hardest time finding the noodles because Wal-Mart in my area discontinued them. Went to Kroger online and they said they had them. I wasn't going home without them. So I ignored the worker and found them myself. Woo!!!. Can't wait to get them going. Thanks solo much.
We do not have these frozen noodles anywhere near me and I do want to make this. I bought some dry egg noodles in the pasta section. I bought the most expensive ones they had. Do you think it will taste as good?
mmm, mmmm, good!!! sooooo good & kiddos lived it!!!!! I'm new to your channel, I was looking for a chicken crock pot recipe this morning with what I had on hand & found you! I'm not much of a cook so thank you for being so detailed with your instructions!!!! I drive my friends crazy when I ask exactly "How much is a pinch & a dash in measurements! "lol
Thank you!! Everyone enjoyed the chicken & noodles!!!! Loved that I had 2 days of left overs! Worked out perfect with kids out for winter break!! I'm in N.Alabama and sent hubby to get those exact noodles he had to go to 3 different grocery stores to find them!! Lol. Finally, he got lucky,Publix had them! Only recently started carrying them!! My husband asked if it was a Northern thing? Lol.
Hi 👋 I'm planning on making this recipe today but I could not find any frozen egg noodles. So my plan is to just cook some regular linguine noodles instead and add them in. Was wondering if I should add them to the crock pot after the 6 hour mark when I shred the chicken? Or wait untill the 8 hour mark and just mix em in at the end??
That was a awesome dinner/video love... You made it look so easy... Imma gonna try that one day next week.... Thanks for the video and your kind humble spirit/personality... Blessings 🙏🙏🙏
I’ve been making this for years now and because I’m single I always have a ton of leftovers I can freeze. Makes it so easy to eat a home cooked meal and save a ton from not eating out as much. Which means more money for video games lol
Looks amazing. I will absolutely being trying this one. You mentioned you might freeze some leftovers. Isn't it unsafe to cook frozen meat then re-freeze?
+Jokul Snow - this is sooooooo good! Hope you try it and hope you like it! I sure hope it's not unsafe to cook then re-freeze cause I've been doing it for years! I don't know. I'm not gonna look though because I might find out it is and I won't be able to freeze this and I like to freeze it. LOL
It is unsafe to refreeze uncooked meat products. Bacteria growth is promoted. However, cooked meat has already been through the process of destroying pathogens and therefore can be frozen.
This recipe looks so delicious! I have a question though. I’ve used the Reames noodles twice, and they never seemed to get tender. They were very chewy. Am I doing something wrong?
@@TTScraps yes, I didn’t thaw them or anything. Just dropped them in when the recipe said to. I’m going to try them again with this recipe though! Thanks for replying to me!

Or wait untill the 8 hour mark and just mix em in at the end??
i really enjoy watching you, thank you for sharing your ride
That looks delicious I'm going to try that tomorrow.
It really is good!!! Enjoy!
That was a awesome dinner/video love... You made it look so easy... Imma gonna try that one day next week.... Thanks for the video and your kind humble spirit/personality... Blessings 🙏🙏🙏
Looks so good, you know what would be good in it is pimento, thanks.
Never would have thought of that! Sounds yummy!
Or pieces of fresh red pepper at the beginning.
I’ve been making this for years now and because I’m single I always have a ton of leftovers I can freeze. Makes it so easy to eat a home cooked meal and save a ton from not eating out as much. Which means more money for video games lol
Love it!!! 🥰😊
What do u freeze it in?
Does not say how much chicken base to use? Recipe looks good but its not completed 😕
Check the description :^)
Made this last night!! SO good!! ❤️
looks yummy what do you recommend to make it less thick and more soupy
Hmmm.... I am not sure as I like it thick like that. I guess I'd not use the cream of soup and instead use chicken broth.
Spatula is double sided. Not double ended. One side is for scraping tighter corners and edges. Good recipe.
Amazing recipe. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching! It is a favorite, for sure! :)
Looks yummy! Good in instant pot too.
Thanks! Yes, would be great in the instant pot! :)
Looks delicious. thanks for the recipe. definitely making this one!
+Rene' YAY! It is delish! I think I'm putting it on the menu for this week too!! :)
Sarah Carr Yay! Thank you for clearing that up! :)
There is a whole industry called t.v. dinners based on cooked frozen food!
This recipe looks so delicious! I have a question though. I’ve used the Reames noodles twice, and they never seemed to get tender. They were very chewy. Am I doing something wrong?
Hmmm. I’m not sure. I use them from frozen. I’ve not had that problem
@@TTScraps yes, I didn’t thaw them or anything. Just dropped them in when the recipe said to. I’m going to try them again with this recipe though! Thanks for replying to me!
I’ve got to try this
Thank you! Making this today and your video was very helpful 🤠
Yay! Hope you enjoyed it!!
How long do you cook on high. Good looking recipe. Want to try it! Looks so easy!
