- The Original USS Excelsior is a starship in the Star Trek universe. It was first introduced in the 1984 film Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. The Excelsior is a Excelsior-class starship, one of the largest and most advanced vessels in the Starfleet at the time of its launch. It is commanded by Captain Hikaru Sulu, who was previously the helmsman of the USS Enterprise in the original Star Trek series.
The Excelsior is designed for long-range exploration and diplomatic missions. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including powerful engines that allow it to achieve transwarp speeds, and advanced weaponry for self-defense. The ship also has a large crew complement, allowing it to handle various tasks and missions efficiently.
Despite its impressive capabilities, the Excelsior and its crew face many challenges and obstacles during their missions. In the film Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, the Excelsior is sent to investigate a potential threat to the planet Khitomer. The Excelsior has been my favorite starship in all of Star Trek ever since is was first introduced in the movies when I was a kid, and I've still got a model of it on my shelf to this day. You've got me ready to go home and reinstall STO just so I can buy and fly this bad boy around!

Looking at this ship I was blown away. Love the Excelsior-class and now we got a Excelsior II-class. Will admit kind of makes me wish that the Enterprise(NCC-1701-G) was part of this class as it is just beautiful to look at

Absolutely LOVE this re-imagining!!! It's second only to the refit 1701 in my book! The nacelles are perfect as is the oval saucer and the huge allocation of space in the new neck - almost its own third section of hull! Just incredibly genius!

Thought that the Sovereign class was the Excelsior_II due to its design lineage from the Ent-B. Hopefully that forward warp grill is functional as it was supposed to be used for transwarp and now maybe for slipstream too. Wonder how the Shelly/Curry class variants look like and maybe it should have the spade shape instead of a oval shaped saucer section.

I think overall great, but I would like to see the deflector dish area have the same refit as from the original refit of the excelsior/enterprise B
i wish they didn't call it the Excelsior II and gave it its own class name like the Sulu class or something ya know but still i cant be to mad since this beauty looks fast standing still!
I love the design of the excel 2 but wish it wasn’t a lockbox ship. Going to get one eventually maybe by then they can add or cosmetic options to it

My personal opinion I think they should have included the secondary Hull flaring from the enterprise-b variance of the Excelsior as well as the secondary impulse engines from the enterprise-b variant. So imagine this ship as it is but with the secondary Hull flaring and the for impulse engines that would make it shifts kiss sweet anyone else agree
MC Stu this may be a bit off topic but is there any difference at all between a T5 Odyssey and a T6 Odyssey?
yes, hull capacity and number of consoles slots are less then what a T6 will have. If you use an upgrade token on the T5 it will be on part with the T6 less the specialization seating which is not a big deal. I still use a few T5U ships...

There are three tiers of Odyssey. Tier 5, which comes from the Fleet store. T5-U (Tac, Sci, Engi), and T6 (Endeavor, Yorktown, Sojourner, Verity, and Lexington).
The base T5 model cannot be upgraded in any way. It is roughly equivalent to the T5 Star Cruiser that you can pick up at Level 40 with just a bit more Hull and the 60-second Slipstream.
The Wiki states that the T5-U variants need a Ship Upgrade Requisition. I skipped that tier so I cannot confirm nor deny that. Once it is T5-U, an Experimental Upgrade token can be applied.
The T6 variants have different Specialization seating. They can all be upgraded with an Experimental Upgrade. The Verity is locked into an expensive Legendary pack.
Both T5-U and T6 variants come with consoles. The T5-U consoles are locked to the T5-U and T6 Odyssey class. The T6 consoles can be slotted across all faction Flagships. None can be slotted on the base T5 version.
If I had to choose one variant, it would depend on role. For DPS, it would be the Lexington. For Tanking, it would be the Endeavor.

Overall, great. The original Excelsior would have been a battleship so it seems strange that the II would be demoted to Heavy Cruiser, though not unknown. The floaty camera angle in the rings could be improved. Keep creating!

Cool ship but I'm going to stick with the resalute ex3 we'll the lengendery miracle worker can't wait to work on that ship and feel like it's the right time to use the ex3
I think everything to do with the Enterprise-G is dumb as hell, BUT if we're married to the idea of a retro nostalgia Enterprise, this design is a much better candidate IMO
Sovereign, Excelsior and Excelsior 2, love em all unless I can see the deflector dish. Ive always hated that pregnant belly look that just comes off so boring to me. That said, they are the best looking in profile as opposed to the Mr. Incredible look of D (hulking torso with itty bitty legs). Excelsior in particular could have done with a large concave depression around the deflector which E did, or just something to break that dumptruck it was carrying on the bottom. And no, not the Generations refit, that was awful.

I don't like the automated things you have I still like the original Star treks the first and the second and the next generation and all that stuff like that just this animation attract people anymore like it used to Star Trek fans want the originals and people that are original not cartoons or not stuff like that we want to see like the ways they were back then the original Star Trek and the Star Trek to the next generation with the best you gotten too much into automation
